TFW2005 member ahchu reports that the new Generations Alt Modes line has been released in the US. These figures are blind-boxed (mostly – ahchu reports there is a window on the side you can peep through for a glimpse of the figure within).
These figures sport the super-deformed look – big heads and small bodies, with the small bodies actually transforming into vehicles, with the big heads riding on top of the vehicles. They were spotted at the Toys R Us in Vallejo, California.

Anyone know what the "R" code is on these things so I can see if any store in my area has them?

There's a notch next to the character in the box.

There's a little notch next to the character that is in the box!
MegaMoonMan
I'm with you.

Ones I found were on the bottom shelf of the area where all the Transformers were.

My guess (haven't seen them locally yet) is they are probably back with the other figures, that's where the Loyal Subjects figures were when they carried them. Those islands up front are usually just candy and crap. although I have seen some blind bag items up there from time to time.
Deathy G1
Are you guys finding these on the little island displays by the registers?

Picked up a Prowl and Thundercracker today. Definitely can't stand in bot mode due to the floppy leg design which is required for the 1 step transformation. Not a horrible toy but not sure how many more I'll be buying.
dCon
well that's good to hear. The reason I don't have a bunch of loyal subjects is because I can't stand buying blind.
Ok well that's not so great. Hopefully they have better copies out there
2003 Megatron
This is good news.

All I know is I'm getting the UM one and that will be the end of the Alt Line from me. I usually love SD figures, but having that ginormous Bot/Con insignia transformation trigger on top of the head just look dubious and atrocious. I don't know what the designer was thinking. A simple small button/peg trigger transformation at the back of the body would've been perfect.
RCtelevision
Whoa , harsh. I like them. They look niffty. Probably gona get one or two
ClutchKick
How big are the heads? All I see is a great way to get heads for custom fodder.
madhatprime
Saw these at the Emeryville TRU. They are tiny. I have the prime and he'd hard to stand up due to floppy legs
Exodus
Any pics of these?

I line SD transformers, and other types of "cute" aesthetics for the brand, but I don't line these figs. The heads stick out and their size is further compounded by UNPAINTED faction symbols on them.
Still, if the heads are the right size, maybe they can be cut off and used for customs? The faction symbols could be cut off, painted and applied to some of the larger bots, too?
Then, just mod some small heads for the remaining figure and you are done!

$7 isn't bad considering. Most small SD figures are $10-$12. But hey, complaining is more fun, right?
WishfulThinking
At least these DO something… But at $7 each, I'll probably pass. Too many other things to buy instead of novelties.
toysroom27
damn,,found these last saturday.
Feralstorm
I might pick up one of these to check 'em out, but I doubt I'll get much more than that. Never been a fan of the Funko POP/Mighty Muggs collectible 'everything looks mostly the same' type of figurines.
