Recently we’ve seen various videos featuring characters from the upcoming Combiner Wars miniseries made by Machinima. Now the Transformers Facebook page has uploaded a short video going behind the scenes for a moment with producer Eric Calderon to see which character he’s most excited for in the upcoming series and why. In addition to the short interview, we also get a look at some concept art of Victorion herself and her massive sword.
Check out the video in the link above and the image after the jump, and sound off in the discussion with your thoughts on Victorion and the upcoming series coming August 2nd!

So why not give them a chance to shine, instead of letting marketingbots hogg the spotlight in every piece of fiction.
The thing is: little girls have apparently been into Transformers for years and never needed a corporate inclusive marketing stunt before.
I don't mind Victorion per se, i think she has been done very well in IDW (apart from that Combiner Hunters abomination) and it looks like she may be interesting in the Machinima cartoon. The problem is that when marketing executives get a dumb idea into their head and convince senior managment its a good one, the company feels they have to spend as much money as they can into promoting it and force-feeding it to their customers untill the grand majority is completely brainwashed and HAS to get their fix every then minutes and the suffering minority has nowhere to hide. This is why radio programming has become what it is today.
She's a female Combiner, she is not Cindy Crawford in high heels thankfully. and Hasbro is very brave for finally moving past that template that doesn't even have to be insulting to women in order to be idiotic as a design for alien sentient robots.

First time I saw Victorion, I got the impression I was looking at a recoloured Defensor with a female head tacked on. Maybe it would have helped if I'd never bought Defensor in the first place.
As it is, if Victorion ever joins my collection, CW mini Groove is going to have to retire from the Protectobots……
It makes me wonder what they would have done if people had voted for a Optimus/Motormaster based torso.
pokemonsdoom
Get out for posting that…that…that abomination here.
Negativedark
Sheesh guys. It's not like they are blowing up Superion, and she's the new Superion. They just want to put some focus on the new character that got created by the fan poll. It's not like what Marvel is doing where they are killing Tony Stark and replacing him with a black teenage girl. So relax.
Now I'm trying to remember what Sir Perciviel was like in Athrurian myth. All that's coming to me is that Greg Wiseman had him be the head of the Illuminati in Gargoyles.
Now I want Greg Wiseman to do a Transformers cartoon, even though it'd get cancelled after two seasons.

I like Victorion's design, but I am tired of everyone having magical powers/special abilities these days. Why not make Victorion an ancient combiner? Maybe one of the original combiners created from the combination thingy. Instead of making her magical, make her bio have something to do with her age and wisdom. Oh well, i'm still interested, and I won't fault the writers for using magic as a way to make Victorion stand out. More interesting female characters is always a good thing.
I can attest to that. The figure had way too many issues. I sold the toy at a bit of a loss. I wish I had ordered it through bbts, at least that way I could have gotten a refund. Oh well, live and learn.
Neko-bot77
Srsly… I want to want the toy, but I have so many copies of these molds already I can't stomach another reuse… (and i've heard the QC issues are pretty bad on Viccy…)

Victorion
Would it really be difficult for Hastak to make a new mold for Victorion? Look at that proportions, there is nothing that suggest that this is a fembot combiner. The proportions are nearer to Predaking(short bulky build) rather an Arcee or Windblade. There is so much you can do by reusing old molds to try to make them more feminine.
Collectibot
I'm thankful that we got the toy as it is over this model. If this model were the toy… Ugh, it's even more garish and despicable than the toy!
Starscream Gaga
Dafuq? Grimlock was in G1, he's perf. Only new characters can be Mary Sues.
Jus09
Just how do we know that Caminus isn't banana-shaped? Oops, wrong Knight.
Mecheon
She's basically just an Autobot equivilent of Predaking or the like
The Autobots are allowed to have competent combiners, y'know. I mean, the Decepticons have, what, three of them?
I mean really if we're talking Mary Sues or the like, I'd be pointing fingers at bloody Grimlock first. Particularly his Dreamwave version
Ra88
I'm just happy she will be the only one created by the Engima of Combination. Absolutely hate it in the comics and how it's used on everyone and everything.
Also, Windblade and Victorion are fan vote winners. It's a pretty big fucking deal for Hasbro. Of course they'd make these two special, it's because, well, they are.
Blitz.
I care about good design and solid story telling. I'm all behind the idea of getting more fans into the series regardless of who they are but to quash opinions beacuse it's for the greater good just ends up with a lower quality product that no one enjoys.
The basic idea of Vic is fine and I'm all for a fem team but what I cant stand is the special snow flake crap that crops up. Kicker had it, SmokeScreen in Prime had it and its cropped up in so much other media that the list would be very long but to get to my point its never welcome and typically comes at the cost of over shadowing other characters.
GAUGE
I think the issues here is that both Vitorion and the bots who comprise of here just haven't gotten enough character building or backstory to really win people over.
in that matter though there's a tons of G1 toy characters we don't know squat about and had personalities created out of thin air, such as but not limited to: The Micromasters, alot of characters from Machine Wars, alot of the G2 cast. even the Deluxe Insecticons. and I can go on.
Even IF Victorion IS some Mary Sue shining light on Female Empowerment and such. who the hell cares? To be that bridge to allow for the female fans to cross-over, Hell hasbro ha been doing it with Nerf for years now. It's always been a huge marketing ploy to sell toys to kids. This is a huge push for that.
Even the terrible new Ghostbusters movie is geared towards the little girls, so LET the girls have their Victorion. and stop trashing on her already. If you hate her so much, ignore the new Machinima show.
Instead of being divided on shit just enjoy the toys or…NOT.
Starscream Gaga
I'm suprised that the brand new combiner from Combiner Wars is getting focus in the Combiner Wars cartoon. Definitely a Mary Sue.
Deadend
In theory, her gravity manipulation can cause invisibility. Using gravity to bend the light around what she needs can create the effect of invisibility through her gravity manipulation. So really, that's an extension of an ability she already has. Haven't read how they did it in the story, referencing science stuff and light manipulation through gravity. Would take a hell of a lot of power to do that though, as well as focus and high volumes of math to conserve as much power as needed. Way more science involved in that and other theories, but it's possible, albeit not practical.
Other than that, I tend to agree. People love to jump on the Marty Stu/Mary Sue bandwagon based on flawed perceptions & bias without evidence to support it.
Lady Slipstream
I'm 100% sure that she will be a Mary Sue, kinda like this.
Furnace
I don't have a problem with Victorion's "magic", as long as it doesn't overshadow her other traits.
AoE
This makes me really miss the chunky designs of Cybertron.
RobotKnight95
At what point did anyone suggest you were sexist or misogynist? I only recommended hesitation when using the term Mary Sue. I did not insult anyone or say they were wrong. While I disagree with you I respect your opinion and understand your argument. No need for insults just because I hold a different position. I've made that same mistake and it got me into nothing but trouble.
As for your argument on Victorion being new you are correct. She is new, same as Windblade, and therefore we have not learned what her weaknesses are beyond one. We know that should anyone manipulate Enigma energy she is susceptible to the effects. Who knows how many weakness she'll obtain in future. We have to wait and see.
In any story should one advertise a hero for their story they need to build them up before knocking them down. You cannot expect to have all your information handed out at once and still have investment. That is spoiling who your character is and removing any sense of thrill.
