Rung and Nightbeat cont
Just saw this panel while I was rereading #53… So Nightbeat and Rung aren't back yet.
Hopefully something along the lines of Nightbeat discovering something about Rung's alt mode happens later in #54 (if they're not already dead) :v
Autovolt 127
I really hope your right.
The DJD dying is fine, but the others, I feel there is more to be done with them.
Haywired
Murder all the DJD and pile their corpses with Nickel's mangled head as a cherry on top, don't care about them. But let the Victory guys live…
WilyMech
The only thing we got from Nickel she hates organic life. When I saw her, Nickel, came across like Ratchet does when it comes to her patients. Perhaps Nickel has not much exposure to the DJD on the battle field and never saw them brutally torture someone. Tarn must value her for medic skills and kept away from that. My guess Kaon's death by Tarn must have affected her. Or just plainly state Nickel is in denial of what the DJD truly is. Tarn could have just as easily killed her when he first found Nickel.
ZeroiaSD
It is accurate on her part…. but it does strike me, as a twist, what if it was an Agent 113 bullet, and the deal with 113 is more complicated than we realize?
Nocturne
*joins you in the "Where are Rung and Nightbeat" corner* Nope.
Chopperface
Maybe it'll be like the BM finale where Primal gave the Maximals power ups to properly combat the overwhelming Vehicon hordes, but Megs eventually went "nope" and they were overwhelmed? Of course I doubt Tarn has a "nope" button like Megs did but still. And also it's still nice to see the DJD get their asses beat after four years of almost overkill in the hype department.
I'm sure Overlord will survive, and I kinda hope Deathsaurus does too.

I feel like I'm the only one who is mad about how little action there is in MTMTE. When there is an action scene, it lasts like 1 page, and they all mostly feel the same: Uppercut, then the two characters grabbing their arms while talking to each other. The worst action scene was with Overlord vs. the Lost Light crew. We see a beautiful double page spread, then Ultra Magnus punching Overlord 3 times, then Mags gets stabbed, Rodimus orders everyone to attack, but WE CUTAWAY to Tailgate and First Aid. the next page has the battle pretty much over with Rodimus saying Treapan's trigger and the Fort Max beats him up while Overlord doesn't fight back. Now finally, MTMTE 54 may actually deliver a decent action scene.

Nightbeat/Rung???
So I'm the only one sitting here thinking about Nightbeat and Rung?
I'm also so salty Nightbeat doesn't get "powers" per se…
Carnivos
Agreed, no way could he do what he said he did in that short amount of time.
Napalm
I have no problem with contrived plot devices creating daft situations like this as the DJD deserve a good kicking. I want to see it hurt though. We're seeing the fist bump moment in these pages, what this needs next is the crushing blow that knocks the wind out of our sails.
GoLion
I'm also slightly bothered by the whole gloom and doom thing being resolved with super punches, but we really don't know if that's going to be the case. All we know so far is that Chromedome hit Overlord. For all we know Overlord could stand up in the next panel, remove Chromedome's arm, and place it in an unfavorable location in Chromedome's body.
Anyone can knock anyone out. A bodybuilder with HUGE muscles can get his ass knocked out if the guy throwing the punch knows where to connect. I'm not saying that's the case here, we just have to wait and see.
Remember folks, unless our complaints are consistent, our complaints are unjustified. Individual taste? Nah! Who needs that.
Just to put this out there: Opinions are different from one individual to the next. What one person might like another might dislike. It's kind of silly that I even have write that.
Dramatic Spoon
After reading Velocity's dialogue, I think she's wrong.
Personal Theory: Tailgate's now living Ore-13/Ultra Energon.
very satisfying.
Zylly103
Wow. I could not disagree with some folks here more. Powering up the crew to deliver a well deserved curb stomp battle to Overlord and the DJD? Nothing short of awesome.
Perfectly foreshadowed and for me, perfectly satisfying. Honestly, though, I don't care what kind of ass pull it takes to get a good guy victory.
And I strongly believe Overlord to be lying about Rewind-1. Perfectly in character for him to twist the knife just because he can.
Autovolt 127
I have mixed feelings on this.
I enjoy Edgelord Overlord's dialogue (it fits his personality) but Chromedome smacking him as justified as it is, just feels to easy and too cartoony.
also getting tired of these off screen developments like this, seriously would it have been so difficult to have included this in the previous issue, i'm aware of the page reduction but still.
I love this cover.
Friggin This.
Japanese G1 needs to have some chance.
I wouldn't be surprised after a few punchs, most of the bots start jobbing.
Meister5
So what does that say about Vos?
Dark Magnus
I think the "good shot nickel" is akin to a parent praising a child for making a good effort to encourage the behavior. Like if your five-year-old throws up a basketball and makes contact with the rim, you tell them it's a good shot even though, objectively, the shot was garbage by most standards.
Anguirus
Resolution doesn't happen in the preview pages. We still have the drama of a hopeless battle, just with a justification that lets Chromedome's grief and passion have *some* level of physical impact on Overlord. Now him putting his fist through him, *that* would be badly inconsistent with Overlord's demonstrated abilities.
Carnivos
I remember in slaughterhouse it shown Kaon using Vos so he might be the one who normally does, but scince Tarn yanked his head off Nickel is a last minute substitute, also other comics have shown that not all outlier abilities are useful in combat so perhaps that would prevent everyone from getting a leg up.
Negativedark
Burning Justice. Oh, okay, Roberts threw in that bit from Ratchet to claim it's totally justified and makes sense, but really it's bullshit. At least Super Sayian had been built up for a long time, and estabished at being something Frieza secretly feared.
Well you see the problem is Roberts had made Overlord and the DJD these invincible villians who could murder the shit out of hundreds of autobots, including the main cast with both arms tied behind their backs. And now he's kinda got to have the main cast beat them. Which nobody would buy based on their previous track records. Whoopsie.
It's a IDW comic. They are Japanese characters. Sorry, but the biggest shocker is if Deathsarus and his crew aren't anticlimatically killed off. I mean Deathsaurus even resembles a previous characterization somewhat!
