Twitter user Kal_ElofKrypton has provided in-hand images of Titans Return Fortress Maximus, the centerpiece of Hasbro’s 2016 toy line. These in-hand images follow up our report just yesterday of Fort Max being released at retail in Australia.
The images provided show off Max compared to Generations Metroplex, Cerebros in his robot mode, as well as comparing this massive figure to the original Generation 1 Fortress Maximus.
Expect more images throughout the day as more collectors get their hands on this Titan!

Not to create a zombie thread, but discussion of this guy seems to have died and I have a question. Are there any other bots that have hands that retract or fold in that might be suitable for use on Fort Max? I'm hoping to swap lower arms at the ball joint if possible. This thing looks ridiculous with hands sticking out over the top of the back of the head.

Ages3Up on YouTube combined CW, SDCC and UW Devastator parts to make an ideal version. Maybe they will do it again with Fort Max.

The head is very different.
My perfect Fortress Maximus would be 80% Takara, with only the Hasbro head, and nothing from the underwhelming and pointless SDCC version.
Then maybe some 3P add-ons for his big rifle and hip guns or something.
The Takara release is almost perfect by itself, especially now that we can see all the added paint & sticker details in the deco. But I'd really rather have Cerebros than Fortress, and even just in head mode, Hasbro's colors for Max's head look much, much better to me. Both versions go for cartoon accuracy, but the question is which cartoon. And for me, Rebirth>Headmasters, by a country mile.

This is the perfect combo for me, i'm buying the Hasbro version and painting it to look like this with a few tweaks
Automaster
I wonder if a fan could create the "perfect" Fort Max from using parts from all 3 releases. I learned my lesson about patience with CW Devastator and got the UW Devastator. I've never looked back, but the only seemingly real difference here is paint.

Toydojo was able to secure some, but they cost like 240 I think. You have to be a dojo disciple on Facebook I believe.

I suspect we'll get a US release date for the regular version of Fort Max after SDCC. The SDCC exclusive version will be the first one released in the US, and the hype train stops there for now.
SouthtownKid
Takara's is coming out in September. Hasbro's isn't starting to show up in some territories, but not in the US. No idea when that is due.

When is this being released again? I'm getting so impatient for this guy man, it's really starting to piss me off. I see pics everywhere, all these youtube reviews popping up, and I'm like: Soooo those guys got a sample, but he's still not available anywhere in IL? This is BS man….I've got enough money, right f-ing now, to purchase both the Japanese and American versions: Can't find them available anywhere. Just pre-orders for the Japanese version and noooooothing on the Hasbro version, haven't seen a pre-order for him yet- and frankly I'm not a pre-order kind of guy- I only like to order stuff when it's actually available- so I'm super curious to know: What's the official release date on the Hasbro version?
I've got a HUGE 4th of July weekend planned, my family and I are putting on a huge fireworks show, I plan on getting super tanked, it's going to be a great time- and not only that, but we're also attending 2 other parties at my uncles houses, so that's going to be fun too- this entire upcoming weekend is going to ROCK: But I'm still sitting here, f-ing PISSED that this guy isn't on my shelf yet…..when the Hell can I get him..that's all I want to know. lol

Finally ordered the Takara Fort Max. It's a steep price difference, but I didn't want to spend $140 on the Hasbro version just to be unsatisfied with it. Would have preferred Hasbro's Cerebros head, but the colors used by Takara are so much better.
nathan_s82
Looks like the price will be $139.99 for it or at least that's what Robot Kingdom has it for.
DoubleClouder
Yep he had it in the feedback thread

Optibotimus has a review up.

Hopeful I can own or one soon.

Do you think Takara will include two extra leg cannons for the forearms ?
I mean, two double cannons for the legs, and others two double cannons for the pegs in forearms (4 double cannons in total)
I think is very cheap and is the best way to fix the lack of weapons
Seeaich
So with Optibotimus's review I'm wondering, does that confirm a single multilingual-styled Soundchip and no US/Worldwide divide like Metroplex with Fort Max's release?
SouthtownKid
Yeah, pretty much perfect.
Somebody sell this one, please. I'm fine with Hasbro Max's face, though. I don't think Takara's is any better.
Jalaguy
Wildly unlikely. Titan Masters are far smaller than '80s Headmasters (a Titan Master is about waist-height to a Headmaster in robot mode) and their head modes attach in a completely different way.
Grimlock75
I'm thinking something like this (excuse the poor photoshop )
