Following the sudden passing of Prince in April 2016, much speculation has arisen about Prince’s legendary vault, which is known to have contained unreleased projects by the star across all forms of media. As Prince made no formal will, the executors of his estate, the Bremer Trust, has opened the vault to assess its contents.
While no official listing of the contents has been released, some of the findings have leaked, and our focus falls on a Transformers-themed concept album among the unreleased music. According to an article on Aux, among the items in the vault was something called Pure Energon, described as a Transformers-themed concept album made as a collaboration with the band, the Information Society.
It’s an interesting glimpse at something that might have been. Would you be interested in hearing Prince’s take on Transformers-themed music? Sound off in the linked discussion thread.

Oh man I sure hope this gets released one day. I suppose it could be possible depending on how his belongings are sorted as to my knowledge he retained the rights to all his music.
Hollywood Hoist
It should also be noted that Information Society was also from Minnesota.

He was one of us… Prince was one of us… I knew it.
flamepanther
I want to believe.

Fascinating.
I hope to hear it one day.

Makes you wish for any tracks being released public only so some people could quietly cry in their dark corner, isn't it? :>

Sadly, this is very true. I guess we all succumb to that sort of thinking once in a while, but think better of it after we reflect.
It is less innocent if this mentality is coupled to mob-mentality however especially if that mob wants to stop something from existing that is outside of the norm and is important to some people, and that is something that frighteningly is getting more common too.

I would love to hear Prince squealing "push the little daisies and make them come up." LOL.
I'm curious about what was on this. Hopefully it sees the light of day sometime. Prince was a legend and I liked Information Society when I was in grade school. I still rock out to "Pure Energy" every now and then.

Take my frickin' money!

ONE OF US, ONE OF USSSSS! Finding a Road Rage (Little Red Corvette) with his estate would confirm it.

I'm of two minds about this.
On the one hand, it's always interesting to hear/read things that artists never released. On the other hand, I feel like sometimes there's a reason they never released/finished these projects, usually because maybe they weren't up to their standard. Kinda like how "Go Set a Watchman" kinda tarnished the memory of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Harper Lee. Sometimes we're better off not knowing.

There's no way this is real. A collaboration with Ween and Ozzy? A concept album about Nick Bockwinkel with Bob Mould? No fucking way.
Anyone who's interested in writing comedy or satire, this one is a pretty good model to emulate – start with things that are reasonable and believable, sprinkle in more and more weirdness, until the joke:realistic ratio is flipped.

Because everybody makes transformer themed albums… Of course i want to hear it.
Nocturne
What a surprise. I didn't listen to much of his music but this could be fun.

I take it with a grain of salt without some decent confirmation. It would be interesting to see some of the more off the wall projects corroborated by those he allegedly collaborated with. Since this is unreleased unpromoted music the silly names and concepts are not unbelievable. Most people, even out of artists, have at least some sense of humor in their personal lives. An eccentric very nerdy musician having played around with some eccentric concepts and having humorous in-jokes with working titles isn't exactly stretching credulity.

Speaking as a fan of TFs, Prince, and a former resident of Minneapolis…I MUST HEAR THIS ALBUM!!!!!
Keldroc
Pretty much. Some of this stuff is real stuff that's known to be in the vault, but at least half the list is all a tongue-in-cheek joke. There is no Prince Transformers concept album, as much ass as that may have kicked.

Prince/O(+> Transformers-themed album
YES!!!! I'm a HUGE fan of the late great musical genius from Minneapolis. I would love to hear it-and I remember a cool song InSoc had out in the 80s that sampled James Brown's, " The Big Payback" and "Star Trek". Prince watched a lot of movies and I'm quite sure he was aware of our favorite citizens from Cybertron. However, with all the drama going on supposedly with his Paisley Park estate, it may be a long while before we can hear it. Wonder if he created it similar to the Batman soundtrack he did? As far as the list, some of the items are real, but I also bet some of the list items are fake.

Still mad about that basketball game Charlie Murphy ? Let it go man, it was 30 years ago. Prince and his crew beat you fair and square and those "fruity picks" were all legit.
I mean, just to show there were no hard feelings Prince even made you guys breakfast afterwards.

So there was more than meets the ear/eye to Prince's work?! Cool stuff.
