Following their previous announcement of Grump, BadCube revealed through their Facebook page the next release in their Old Timer Series to be OTS-10 Slick, a masterpiece style homage to Generation 1 Mini-bot Swerve. Through the available render and art work, it appears OTS-10 Slick will be a remold of OTS-09 Grump with a sun roof in vehicle mode. In robot mode, the figure will feature a different head, shoulders, chest piece, and remolded shins. We have yet to hear release information on this figure, but in the meantime check out images of the “Metallurgist” after the break.

Thank you. I always felt that the blacked out windows made him unique for some reason
Impactor666
Those windows look great I may do that to mine too, I used to enjoy the g1 toy as much as Gears
jbwkkl
Ah, that's better…

With the painted windows and autobot decals, he now feels complete. Wanted something that was a mix of G1 and IDW
Impactor666
I still have quite a few other figures like that either plain silver mouths must round to them someday
jbwkkl
Yeah, I'll probably paint it. Was planning to paint his windows tomorrow anyway, give him a more G1 feel
Impactor666
I just filled mine in with a black sharpie

Just got mine today from TFSource, and only issue mine has, is a missing paint app in the "screaming" mouth.

Not toon accurate, but not too awful in terms of proportions.
With the FT Swerve the hands will open, though.

Neither one are exactly toon accurate because Swerve is a bizarre looking robot but i'd say Slick is somewhere more in-between toy and toon but his body proportions match the toon better IMO. Slick's alt mode looks more like a real truck as opposed to whatever type of weird truck the toon alt mode is.
The FT Swerve looks cleaner overall and more toon accurate in alt mode but his body proportions are way too fat to me.

Does anyone find this guy cartoon accurate? Is the fans toys version better?

Considering I wasn't planning on getting him he's a pretty cool little dude, not as good as Grump in a few places but good for his time.

Yeah he’s exactly what I expected as the Mold mate to Grump. I am truly just happy to have him crossed off the list. I would still get an IDW iteration for my MMC/IDW shelf though. For G1 I just need an Outback and Pipes (have the BC preordered) and I’m done the minibots. View attachment 29277218

You could also tint the windows with clear paint like Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue if you'd rather do it that way. You just paint the inside of the windshield until it's blue enough for you.
Vinyl would likely be easier to get off if you ever changed your mind. You have options, though!

Yeah, just got mine today too. He's not bad, he's not blowing me away but he's also just fine!

Not sure what the rest of the world would call it but it is a blue transparent self adhesive vinyl.View attachment 29276875

Added some window tint.

Just got my reissue in today and i'm pretty damn pleased. Only parts that give me the slightest hesitation are the shoulder pads and how they connect to the body. I'm afraid they could break easily because of the small plastic pieces holding them on. The other is the head is a little hard to turn. Not a huge deal, though.
Other than that i'm really happy I got the little guy and he obviously fits in with Grump so that's a bonus.
