Love the cover with Rodimus and ROM. As always, looking forward to future MTMTE issues.

I believe Shogun Warriors to be firmly in Marvel Universe continuity: Gabriel Jones appears in one issue (14) as does Doctor Demonicus (who's Iron Man appearances have recently been traded in the Duel of Iron epic collection) and the Fantastic Four are in issue 19 & 20.
Shogun Warriors Vol 1 – Marvel Database – Wikia
Similarly the Marvel Godzilla is series is very much set in the Marvel universe. As is the 2001 series. It's very much the norm for licensed Marvel properties till their Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars strips of the late 70s and GI Joe in the 80s.
Transformers starts out that way – see US issue 3 guest starring Spider Man, with She Hulk and others in cameo, and Circuit Breaker's Secret Wars II appearance – but the GI Joe crossover, previously established by Larry Hama not to be in the Marvel Universe, really screws things up.
Squiddy
There's always special attention to his hips whenever people draw Rodimus…. Also there's not enough gray faced Hot Rod/Rodimus. I always thought it was a neat move to have him have a gray face in TF:Animated.

I'm wondering if by saying "standing" they mean ones who are fit enough to move while the rest are badly injured. Or if they mean life and death.
James always claims he's going to kill of characters when in reality main cast is alive while unimportant/background characters are the ones who are dead.
Also when they say Autobots, they could be referencing the ones back on the Lost Light or the abandoned crew.

Noooo…plz.
These hips Rodimus. Daym.
ROM reminds me a bit of the Ultron Clones in Avengers Assemble.
Composite Ghost
Soooo… Rodimus is a lesbian now?
Murasame
Thank you for explaining
justiceg
I'm wondering if Rodimus' group becomes Decepticons!
Autovolt 127
Ah okay that makes sense.
I'm interested to see how this all plays out.
and then Trailbreaker is revealed to be alive all along.
It's gonna get brutal, oh man. I can already feel the tears coming.

Thanks to this pre-Marvel commercial, Hasbro and IDW can use the name "Dire Wraiths." However, they can't be the Marvel ones. (and judging from a little preview I saw on Bleeding Cool, they are indeed pretty different)
Thelonicon
Based on the announcement on IDW's webpage, it looks like the Dire Wraiths and their infiltration of Earth ended up part of Hasbro's ownership (or else a deal was made with them.)
Per IDW

ROM was an electronic robot toy created by Parker brothers in the early 80's, you usualy found him in Radio Shack stores alongside earlyShockwave knock-offs if memory serves.
the toy had no background or story, so the toy was licensed to Marvel comics, who created a story for a comic that last until 1986 I believe (75 issues)
unlike other licensed properties, ROM was fully ingrained in the Marvel universe (unlike the Transformers, or Shogun Warriors) And despite Marvel only "leasing" the rights, the charcater had frequent adventures with the rest of the Marvel universe (similar to what Marvel did with the Micronauts license)
Marvel lost the rigths and decided not to renew, but the character was such a staple of the Marvel mythos that the comic book company has alluded to ROM off and on over theyears, manly in the fact that all the characters and background to ROM still belong to MArvel
The short version was that the planet Galador was under attack by a shapeshifting magical race called the "Dire Wraiths"…the fight them, Galador created a technology that allowed a human's life force to merge with robotic bodies, these living robots (they refered to them as cyborgs) were called "Spaceknights"
pretty much everything in the above paragraph belongs to marvel, so as near as I can tell, IDW will have to spin a new ROM mythos from whole cloth

And still manages to be timelessly true

Part of me is leaning towards Deathsaurus dying in some way, the other part is leaning toward Deathy slinking away to link hi wounds when his forces are crippled. If Tarn dies, it'll be standing against Megatron.
I figure one of the core command crew will fall, most likely Magnus (don't want it though.
I can see your Cyclonus happening with any one of the DJD.
Murasame
That thing was funny like when you registered here.
Thelonicon
Let me Google that for you.
hendrijr
Does anyone else see Cyclonus dying at the hands of Tarn or Deathsaurus and Tailgate using his newfound strength to beat the murderer to death?
Murasame
Who is Rom?
Megastar
Naw, their just bros.
Bathawk
ahh you can almost hear the Roberts "HOW COULD YOU KILL THIS CHARACTER(S)" hate mail percolating
