Third party company BadCube has revealed artwork for their next figure in their Old Timer Series line: OTS-09 Grump. Revealed today on their Facebook page, Grump will be a homage to Gears in the Masterpiece styling that has been the trend among third party releases.
BadCube is usually on point with their reveal schedules, so we should be seeing prototypes and/or more design work in the coming weeks. Start the discussion after the jump.

Badcube OTS-09 Grump Transformers Masterpiece-compatible MP Gears MIB | eBay
Selling mine. UK based, but happy to post overseas (though probably not worth it with shipping costs?)
Happy to knock 10% off for tfw folks dealing directly and PayPal f&f.

The face sculpt on Grump is at present the best released or non-released representation of Gears.

He is an awesome little figure. I think that he really captures the personality of Gears.
Be careful when transforming him. Not only is there the chance of breakage. The plastic is soft enough that he can get stress lines/fractures if you put any force on him.
My opinion is that the transformation is enough of a pain lining up the front end that the juice isn't worth the squeeze, but up to you.

I think Grump might be the best Badcube figure. If you get him you should transform him at least once (I say that about every figure though), but beware that transformation is rough. I’m more than happy with him on my shelf but by the time the fans toys comes out it will be time to swap him out. It was a good run though.

Mine survived transformation with flying colors and is one of the few figures I have on display. It's actually right on my desk in front of me. I still think he captures Gears presence more than what FansToys is showing. It's still a great figure if you ask me.

Thanks, I've had a read through the thread and I think a few breakages seem to happen during transformation, I may not transform him when I get him. But again, for the price I can't complain, and completes S1 autobots for me!
crdavismusic
Yep! He's a great little figure with lots of personality.
Be aware though, I accidentally broke one of the tiny plastic tabs on a leg on the first (only) transformation.

Decided I'm not waiting on fanstoys as it might be a while and nabbed this at kapow for £34.99 which seemed a no brainer tbh. For such an old figure stands up well?

REDEEMED
I have a brand new sealed Grump reissue for sale if anyone is interested

Every time I see this thread bumped I keep coming in believing TCP finally got their stock :/

If Badcube had painted theirs I probably would not switch, but the non painted figures are more and more sticking out. I would very much like to be done with my MP collection personally.
CigarJackal
He looks so goofy. However, its Gears; he's supposed to look goofy.
ChromeMagnus
The way FT has been pumping out and announcing new minibots lately I wouldn't be surprised if we see their version of Gears announced.
Hawkwave
Mine is sitting in superbuy's warehouse, soon to be joined by his Fans Toys counterpart. So should be soon.
Whomps
US retailers in general seems to not have gotten it yet, which is strange given they got the Insecticons. Sounds like an issue on Badcube's part

I don't feel as bad about going with Terry's TF club for Swerve now. Hope they come in soon for you.

What the fudge? Bummer. I got mine November i think. I’m waiting on huff already
green_machine
I had messaged them a few weeks back and the update I got was that Badcube wasn’t even ready to ship their stock to them yet so really.. who knows at this point.
My guess is ShowZ got the whole first run of this reissue and the next run is going to all the other retailers

Beating a dead horse here…still no sign of Grump from TCP. They keep pushing back the release date so I guess there’s still some small hope I’ll be able to round out my ark cast one day.
