The Transformers Facebook page has revealed two Hall Of Fame inductees for this year’s 2016 vote: David Kaye and Judd Nelson! From the TF Facebook page:
Remember watching these legendary characters? Judd Nelson, the voice of Hot Rod in The Transformers: The Movie, and David Kaye, best known as Beast Wars Megatron, have been inducted into the Transformers Hall of Fame. They’ll be accepting their awards at the Stan Bush and Vince DiCola concert at this year’s BotCon—and we’ll be wishing we were there.
A special congratulations to these two voice actors for their induction into the Transformers Hall Of Fame and a THANK YOU to both of them for their contributions!

How can you find out who is and isn't in the HoF?
JBrock
You guys ever hear of honorary doctorates? Judd and Weird Al bring more to the table than just TF work. NWA is going into the Rock N Roll HOF.

Fixed that for you, sir!

I'd prefer Dick Gautier. But at least it's Rodimus.

David Kaye getting in most excellent….Yyyyyeeeesssssss!
Judd Nelson, honestly he's done far less for and in the franchise. I mean don't get me wrong, he was awesome as Hot Rod but he hasn't done much else.

I sent David Kaye a congratulatory tweet and he graciously retweeted!
I even put "Yesss" in a hashtag.

Kaye is def overdue, so a huge congrats. Judd may have a smaller role in franchise history but at the time he was very mainstream with many roles and works to his credit. He was our intro to Hot Rod and the first voice associated with that character. As such, I will say congrats to him too. It is another real life human inductee AND someone who doesn't take focus off the real HOF star of this year, David Kaye himself. Congrats to both for work well done!
Booster Gold
Well deserved in both cases, especially David Kaye who's Beast Wars Megatron was sublime.

If I was an actor who became famous for starring in of one of the biggest movies of the 1980s, and then 30 years later the only thing going on in my life was finding out I was being inducted into the hall of fame of a children's toyline, I don't know how I'd feel about that.
Actually, scratch that. I know exactly how I'd feel about it.
And lol@ people saying Judd Nelson doesn't "deserve" to be in the Transformers Hall of Fame. That's probably what he's thinking, too, but not in the way you mean.

Whoo Armada Megatron!
Well, Judd Nelson's done more than Weird Al, I'll say that.

I think Judd Nelson may be a bit of a stretch for the HOF but this is a good defense of his inclusion. His role as Hot Rod/rodimus was certainly one of the most important roles in G1 since he was the successor to Optimus.
Personally I would like to see more involvement in the franchise from a HOF inductee. For example if Nelson had continued to voice Rodimus in G1 season 3 then I think many of us would feel differently and his inclusion in the HOF would not trigger much debate.
MEGATRON__210
I'm not going to debate the time he took to record ( not many truly do ), or how many times he's put his efforts into the franchise . What I will say is that his performance in the 86 movie as hot rod was more than enough to get in the hall of fame. Hot Rod/ Rodimus is one of the most discussed and unique characters ever imo. From the controversial replacement as Autobot leader to having how many modern figures released 2 decades after the original. Several masterpiece ,3rd party , hasbro generations line …Hot Rod is the real deal and it all started in 1986 with Nelson.

You summarized all the points I could give. I really think they gave Kaye and Nelson the awards since it's the 20th and 30th anniversary of Beast Wars and 1986, respectively.
I don't remember, but is Scott McNeil in the Hall of Fame? He really deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

I'm very happy for David Kaye. Long over due. He's who I hear when I read TF: More Than Meets The Eye.
Judd Nelson seems a little out of left field.
FanimusMaximus
Rightfully so.

Yay for Kay! Gud for Judd!

Kaye definitely deserves this. He voiced both the best Megatron and the best Optimus. As for Judd Nelson, well… TFTM has become a very important part of Transformers, and even geekdom in general, at least to nostalgic 30-40 year olds. Nelson did voice the main character of the film, and while his performance may not have been groundbreaking, even for this franchise, he still did a fairly good job, like most G1 voice actors. He certainly wouldn't be my first pic, but I feel his place in the HOF is justified, and this is coming from someone who is never hesitant to accuse something as just being done to pander to the G1 fans.

Excellent!

Congrats to the both of them.
