“Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #51
“If you want to break someone—mentally, physically, emotionally—wait until they’re happy. Let them live and love and thrive. Once they recognize the value of a life well lived… THAT’S when you move in for the kill. Because you can’t take anything from someone who has nothing to lose.” –Tarn”
The full issue will be out next Wednesday, March 30th. You can read on to see the preview, but beware of spoilers.

They're back.
Mehehehehe
TOLD YOU SO!
And now those two have somebody 'good' writing and drawing them, again.
Its nice that its them that save the day and not some bot that hasn't had a role so far (thuderclash)or the free win (tailgate).
i totally dont get the tailgaite superhero thing, (it also sort of makes little sense in the tf idw logic, aren't outliers supposed to have specific abilities?) I suppose well get a good explanation/story about it sometime..
Rewind
Same here. I like the problem-solving. I've never really had a fixation on death to keep me excited for the series. It happens from time to time, which is fine, but I never read an issue expecting or hoping SOMEONE MUST DIE! I feel there are a lot of other things besides death (some better, some worse) that can have a deep impact on characters and this series has been pretty good at exploring those.
That's just me, I know JR's writing isn't everyone's cup of tea. It's a good thing there are such a vast array of books out there to cater to everyone's different tastes and needs.

No-one is expecting it to be a slaughter-fest. That's the point. How are you not getting that? We're saying the whole "Everyone's going to die" angle that this arc is undeniably going for is silly because we know Roberts doesn't kill main characters.
Slingshot
Please have a downer ending, please, where everyone actually DIES for once, and just doesn't go "Uh oh, we're dead – OH WAIT, we're still alive". It's a perfect oppurtunity to finally balance the series. Otherwise, I'm back to my stubborn shunning of Roberts.
I wonder if the Lost Light will pull an Enterprise, and Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus are forced to find a new ship to get to the Lost Knights.
Susha
which is why im asking, why are people expecting roberts to do what mtmte was never ment to be (a slaughter house)
season 1 seldomly shows fighting, its about the drama, the funny situations, the world building, getting megatron going to the shrink, hoist saving the day with his fear of solitude. . lol..
where do people get all this killing from??? can't we enjoy roberts for what hes always done (best) instead of wanting him to do walking dead ?
combaticonsfrvr
I hope they actually kill someone, like with Trailbreaker.
No one saw that coming. We all thought character development was going to happen for him. We all thought we were going to get to meet the sober Trailbreaker.
Dead.
Then the fakeout on the fakeout happened, and that was great. A nice little reminder that death sometimes actually means something.

Everyone has already died at least twice in this comic, and yet here we are in a miniseries titled "DYING of the Light", facing off against villains who's only character trait is that they kill people, with the pretense that our heroes are already dead. It's all meant to be serious drama, but at this point it just makes the comic feel stale. Like, Megatron becoming an Autobot and facing his die-hard Decepticon zealots isn't enough of a sell, so let's pretend to kill everyone. Again. For the third time.
Meh

I admit that Rewind 1.0 death had meaning. I man TrailCutter or Breaker did get me. I think there will be couple deaths with 90% fake outs. I mean the Necrobot got around and he didn't have a space ship so then he must have teleported. The crew cannot leave that tech in hand of DJD no Decepticon would be safe. Screw it! Neither will the Autobots be safe.
Starscream Gaga
…What's your point? That they used fake-outs in the 80's? Yeah. So? I don't think you're following the conversation at all.
Susha
mhhh.. I… ..
and comic covers have never oversold a plot before?
I mean… this is new to you?
spoiler alerts, and 7 episodes later everyones alive again!
Yaar Optimus prime autobot killer!
Starscream Gaga
My point is that, with its ridiculous amount of cliffhangers, fakeouts and the way the solicits are written, which almost always have a phrase like "NOT EVERYONE WILL GET OUT OF THIS ONE ALIVE!" (And I'm pretty sure that Roberts writes those?) the series DOES try to sell itself as that kind of series. My other point is that I DON'T expect a death toll based on precedent.
Haywired
That's where people got this expectation – in Last Stand of the Wreckers. So, basically from Nick Roche.
None of the IDW main writing cast was ever quick on executing characters aside of a redshirt or an old unused character here or there.
Transformers has a huge cast of all characters, but an actual cast of what you could consider a recognisable character with a legacy longer than a toy bio and a cameo elsewhere is not that big.
Susha
yes but my point is that mtmte never sold itself as a series with the anyone can go formula? where do people get this expectation?
roche has a thing for red shirts, thats why he introduced pyro, guzzle and co, cos he needed the cast to die. its probably one of the things that interests him about tfs.
roberts on the other is invested in world and character building and original, or atleast funny, plots, killing non red shirts is counterproductive to the aim of his narrative choices.
besides most g1 fans are still sorrow about all their childhood heros dying (offscreen) in a pic, why go there again, its not even original…
Susha
I think you have james roberts confused with nick roche
I think u have mtmte comfused with the walking dead.
Seriously. Mr Roches tendencies to kill bots r already to be seen in spotlight kup, plus i think most of lsotw was roches and roberts came in to help him. Besinds sins of the wreckers is being really kind to verity (not to mention stakeout). If u want a bot to stay dead (or as close as it gets in comics) ask roche not roberts. Where did anyone get the idea it woz the other way round?????
Im not sure why people expect a death tall in mtmte, becoz its the first time a comic cover says, 'transformers are all dead'…
Sumner Sturgeon
Well then people would just keep crowing about "no one dies in this comic!". While I will certainly miss any major characters if they die, I have no desire to see this book turn into Bleach.
Murasame
I'd rather have them find a way out than anyone die.
WilyMech
I told Roberts once that Skids is one my favorites and he laugh at that. The fact he may survive just may be worse than death. Tarn is type of person that keep the person alive and maintain just to torture them. Death may actually be kinder fate for Skids than surviving.
Skids dies. Skids survives 1. He tormented by survivor's guilt. 2. Tarn capture him torture him. 3. Skids goes back to Tarn because is a mole in the Autobots regime and the Vos persona takes over. Then Skids commits mass murder of his former comrades for the DJD.
Last one I just thought up as attempt at joking. Sad thing it is very possible.
Autovolt 127
Skids is most likely, he's kinda like the key to everything.
The rest are pretty reasonable/logical.
