Courtesy of Ozformers on Facebook, we can report that Hasbro Australia has officially revealed the Titans Return Voyager class Astrotrain, who is a redeco of Sentinel Prime with a new head, and Legends class Ravage, who is a retooled version of the Autobot tiger, Stripes. These were shown at an Australian Toyfair fan preview lunch meet, which Hasbro Australia joined to show these off to the world for the first time.
From the images, we can see that Astrotrain is spot on in his robot mode, and is sporting some updated designs for his shuttle and train modes. Ravage like all of the cassettes in the Generations subline has been updated to a smart device instead of a cassette, and also sports a third vehicle mode which is compatible with the Titan Master figures. Ravage looks to have a new head in his beast mode to further differentiate him from Stripes.
Also on show at the fan meet is Titans Return Galvatron – who sports a nice deep purple. Titan Master Crashbash was also on show, as was the Combiner Wars Generation 2 Bruticus giftset. A solid showing all round, and a great way to reveal these toys officially to the world. A big thanks to Hasbro Australia for the showing, and big thanks also once again to Ozformers for sharing these pictures with the wider fan community.

Animated Megatron was a helicopter, at least after Series 1.

I'm half and half on this. You have Megatrons from the likes of Animated, the 07 movie, and Prime who turn into flying lumps of petrified something. But you also have WFC models, or Cybertron models, or Generations Springer, or G1 Cyclonus who certainly don't turn into real things but still look recognizable as things. Cyclonus isn't any particular jet, but he's a cool jet. Springer isn't really a Jeep, but he has Jeepy enough elements to look good.

There's a lot to be said about the maturity to respectfully disagree; I'm just glad that the proper open-mindedness, tolerance, and the sense of diversity and inclusion along in this marketplace of free ideas are reflected in the relationship that we share and the topics we have discussed and are present even here.

Broadside?! HELL YEAH!
Johntimus Prime
Now we just need a Voyager Octane and a new Broadside (who's been rumored for TR anyway) and we'll have all the original triple changers in proper size classes, updated.

i am digging astrotrain, the weaponized/cybertronian diesel looks badass with the mad max-esque plow and all the turrets hell it you want to make it different from sentinel use the shuttle nose halves to make it a bullet train with some reprolabels for windows and use the diesel portions as feet we should have a steamer for a train but i'm okay with this the real problem is lack of paint detail, its suppose to be this massive looking shuttle and it has no paint on the cockpit windows, even in the renders, just that simple thing would make it look better, hopefully takara can save this version of the mold though i do like the toy accuracy

I won't deny that when I have been waiting for a new Astrotrain, I was hoping for something akin to Springer and Blitzwing, where it was still the same basic toy but modernized. I think the thing that bugs me about the train with this new one is it looks like an entire train as opposed to just the engine.
That said, I love the bot mode and I suspect I will be very happy once I have him in hand.
Lord Dcast
They had to work out a lot of kinks in the movieverse in the old Legends scale. Also, like the old, the new has good and bad toys. For every Powerglide there's a Shockwave. For every Cosmos there's a Tailgate. There's the good and the bad in every line.

Meh, it's all contextual… adversaries, opponents, nemeses, etc… in so much as we're two people who piss each other off, hold drastically different views on politics, personal propriety, society, and morality, and have frequently butted heads over all these things within the context of a toy robot forum… I'd say we're "enemies". It's rare we're on the same side, after all. But it's not like I'd cut your brake lines or anything.
…
I'd have to travel to do that.
There are definitely 'train' cues there… if you squint at them long enough… but I don't feel like they work overall. Or those elements that are train-ish are overpowered by the elements that are not very train-ish. The end result is a sort of vaguely scifi-ish chimera that just doesn't really suit the figure well. So yeah, that's the most disappointing part.
I also tend to have a bias towards Earth-modes (especially on characters who have traditionally had Earth modes), because the sense of illusionism and 'disguise' comes off better… but also because I find futuristic or "cybertronian" modes are often where designers will often cut corners the most.
Barely.
I liked the old Legends scale, but the quality of the designs did vary quite a bit. It was very hit-or-miss. Part of me would have liked to see them hit all the old G1 regulars in that scale… they got close. Plus, they go nicely with Metroplex.
I like the new Legends too, but when they started to get slack with the remolds (Huffer/Pipes from Optimus, Warpath from Megatron, etc) I started to lose interest.

So…I am the only one who liked that size class.
Still, they had more articulation that Micromasters.
Johntimus Prime
That was the old Legends class no one really liked because they had zero arm articulation. And there's Cloud Brawn, I guess, but Prime Bulkhead doesn't work for his body at all. I suppose you could repurpose ROTF Beachcomber for the time being.
Lord Dcast
Am I the only one who prefers the old Legion Legends scale? But yes, we DO need a Seaspray.
Thundershot
Brawn, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Outback, and Hubcap are all that's missing, I think, from the 84-86 Minibots in the modern legends scale.
Kickback is coming in TR. I wonder what shade of yellow HE will have…
And the Universe Brawn and Beachcomber are the old legends scale (now called Legion I think). The new ones are the ones that came with the Targetmasters Micromasters at first. We're only 5 releases away from completing them.
Lord Dcast
Ask someone to make one on Shapeways, or get Iron Factory's Blitzwing. Hastak ain't gonna make you one…yet…give it five years.
Dinobot Snarl
i want a legends Astrotrain with the original transformation, Blitzwing too
Lord Dcast
Didn't we already get Brawn and Beachcomber in Universe?
But yeah, Kickback is apparently on the way due to some quite plausible rumours…and I'm still yet to pick up a Hardshell and a Schrapnel.
Johntimus Prime
I really like Powerglide too, but we need Legends Brawn, Kickback and Beachcomber to round out the minibots now. Hoping those pop up either in TR or the next Prime Wars installment.
Lord Dcast
I was really expecting to like the toy but he just ended up being so disappointing…
…probably didn't help that I got Shockwave on the same day though…whom instantly overshadowed any good points Powerglide had.
