Transformers: Robots In Disguise S02E04 – Suspended
“Transformers: Robots In Disguise, Saturday, March 12 at 6:30 a.m. (ET/PT)… “Suspended” – After a mistake in the field, Strongarm takes herself out of action just when the team needs her most against fire starting Decepticons Crazybolt and Slicedice.’
SaberPrime
I'm majorly confused by the Decepticons in this episode.
Crazybolt is male, the voice actor is male… I looked it up his name is James Arnold Taylor… but I swear this character sounded like a woman… I've looked at his other voice credits as well which confuses me even more as this not only sounds completely different than anything he's done before but it doesn't seem possible that he should even be able to do this voice. I'm almost wandering if the credits for this character got mixed up with a totally different character.
There's also the Mini-con who is a torpedo which is not actually compatible with Crazybolt's toy… The toy is designed for the Cyclone Mini-cons so why isn't the Mini-con in the show a Cyclone? I do like the idea of giving him different eye colors… which also makes me wander… has this ever happened before? I know we've had characters where one eye is larger than the other or an entirely different shape than the other but I don't think we've ever had a character with two different colored optics before…
Actually… I take that back, Bay's Wheelie had one red eye and one blue eye but that was only after one of his optics was damaged… and I'm not sure why that made his damaged eye turn blue other than maybe the subtle foreshadowing that he would switch sides from Decepticon to Autobot… which isn't really foreshadowing anything when it basically happens in the very next scene and we already knew it was coming before that even happened.
I think it would be interesting if characters who are pretty much already known for having asymmetrical designs had different colored optics. Even more so when that character is also known for being kinda insane. Like Sky-Byte I think would look good with one purple optic and one green optic… or rather three purple and three green… shark eyes, robot eyes, and those things on his chest that look suspiciously like eyes. (On the generations mold those actually are his beast mode eyes but the original toy's beast mode head hung off his butt so I don't know what those were suppose to be.) Transmetal Megatron also had that feature where his robot mode chest looks like it has eyes despite the fact his beast mode head doesn't end up there. Seriously, why do they have eyes on their chests?
LegionMaximus
I think they just reused the model. I don't feel like he was the same character either.
Strongarm's reaction / actions seemed fine to me. Not really "realistic", but this is a kid's show.
I was going "uhhhh" when she drove the humans out on a trailer instead of inside her chassis, though. That's dangerous and, yeah, it contradicts why Bumblebee hadn't already saved them. I mean, they could have had her make something up like "I sent this driverless vehicle to save you, I am operating it by remote control from town" and just had them pile into the car.
Autovolt 127
He didn't really feel like the same character though.

Plus it's not unusual for cartoons to have recurring bit characters. I think the continuity is cool tbh.
Haywired
Reuse of a 3D model.
It's a free asset that was already rigged and animated, after all.
Cost cutting, same like reuse of old TFP Decepticon models in Scorponok/Glowstrike's base.

I got screenshots only 47
Autovolt 127
I never caught that.
That's strange.
Why make him in the same exact character though?

^^ Good catch ^^

Did anybody notice that the bird watcher was Arnold from Thunderhoof's debut episode? He had a different VA, but the same face model with different clothes and was named in the credits.

It was a meh ep. I enjoyed Strongarm's personal conflict, and the way 'Bee handled it in the end was really clever. The concept of two Cons fanatically devoted to speed was a decent idea but it was poorly developed in the ep. I did like how they weren't captured by the end of the ep – that was a nice shift of the status quo. The bit with the dad and texting daughter was funny enough.
Yay for the away-team next week.

That or they were adding to the fact that their metal skin could potentially burn a human if they tried to carry them since they were there longer than Strongarm.

Grimlock would have had to have carried them out on foot, so I guess the logic was that the humans would have spent more time exposed to the fire and heat than if Strongarm was taking them at high speed.

^^ only for a few more episodes ^^
Autoboticon
thing is t, besides Bumblebee, everyone sees him as the old, tired, war story telling grandpa.

Razorpaw must be Sonic the Hedgehog to travel that fast to the desert
But I would be so exited to see the jailbreak.
SeanTF1967
Which could mean the jailbreak occurs next week.

I really love the wiki but where is their source to the description?
"Windblade is concerned about Optimus' well being, but doing so puts the Away Team at risk as they battle Razorpaw."
Come oooon Mary Sue it's Optimus. He will be fine. 99% of his lifetime. But Razorpaw? Didn't Windblade and Sideswipe captured him in S1?
SeanTF1967
I believe so, especially since they are fighting Razorpaw. Which makes m believe the jailbreak may happen next week since Razorpaw has been captured…
Slingshot
Do you think this episode will have the scenes from one of the Season 2 Trailers that showed the Away-Team in the Desert?
