Courtesy of the weibo page of mr. Elljay, we have some long awaited sample images of the highly anticipated next release in Fansproject’s Function-X line – Browning II aka Highbrow! This figure is inspired by Generation 1 Headmaster Highbrow and as part of the Function X line, will have an interesting trick or creative transformation scheme. This figure, originally announced back in July of 2009, is slated to be released this month.
Follow along in our 3rd Party discussion thread to keep abreast on additional release information for this figure. You can view the new images after the break.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I just found out what seems to have happened to Browning II's transformation…the designer used it for Siege Spinister…at least in part…check at the 21 minute mark
carry on…

Finally shipped my POL and got this figure. He is the most disappointing in the line. The chopper mode is awful. The transformation is only ok. The robot mode, however, is awesome. I love the chopper blades on the back of the arms. Sad to see the headmaster isn't compatible with the others in the line.

I got mine this weekend and I'm a huge fan. Love this toy.
I agree the alt mode is a little lackluster, but that is to be forgiven since the bot mode is excellent. Hardly any kibble and it's just so sleek and clean.
The transformation is clever, although not perfect.
This is the best figure in the line so far for me (maybe tied with Smart Robin). I just can't get over how good that bot mode looks.

They haven't announced whatever they're planning to do to fix the issue yet, just that they are aware of it and are working on a fix.

So, are Fansproject planning on releasing a revised run of this to fix the headmaster incompatibility at some point, so should I just buy one and hope they release revision parts at some part? (also, does either version of their Quickswitch fix the drill ratchet grinding issue, and if not how do I prevent it?)

I don't have any issues with mine. I love it…but then again I didn't expect it to turn into a scale replica of some kind of helicopter, soooo…..
However, it does slightly suck that he doesn't have landing gear for the tail. I think that's my only complaint. It does 'feel' slightly different, but not necessarily worse to me. I love the transformation.

Anyone who doesn't like theirs please PM me. interested in getting a used one.
Sammael
Yes. It doesn't matter that it locks securely, it looks awful.
OptionZero
Have you used the large peg/socket to lock it?
The heel actually folds upward to enable you to secure the rear tail portion

He arrived yesterday, and I feel the same. The figure feels rushed, like he could have received another round of refinement/re-engineering. The tail in particular is really bad.

Seconded all around. Fun figure – and fun transformation, as with all of these guys – but the alt-mode doesn't hold up when compared to their other Headmaster offerings.
Ceerad
Yeah, I finally got a chance to spend a little time with this guy. The added articulation on the bot is great. The transformation is very interesting. But the alt mode definitely feels incomplete. Especially compared to the original transformation video.

I just got my Fansproject Highbrow. Feeling a bit disappointed with it. The cockpit is well done, but the tail and rotors feel lazy and under-engineered. I hope the Horrorcons are done well.

I'm with you guys…. Fansproject for life! I don't care how long or how many times a product is delayed…. I'll buy them all… Always. Love the aesthetic!
Predakwon
Ah ok. Not a big deal, was just wondering. Thx

Not part of the figure. The instruction uses pictures from the prototype. They just happen to use a piece to hold the tail up.

Hmm. I missed that in the picture. It doesn't look like it's any other part of his body that I can see. There don't seem to be any removable pieces on the leg that forms the tail, and the sculpting doesn't match anywhere else on it. Anyone have any ideas about this? Are we all missing a part?

Painted it, though I since changed to a different (also painted) head
