IDW artist Andrew Griffith has taken to his Twitter to show off a previously-unseen cover for the upcoming Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #51, featuring none other than the leader of the Decepticon Justice Division himself, Tarn, in all his blood-soaked glory. This cover was drawn by him and colored by Joana Lafuente. In addition, he was also kind enough to share the lineart for the cover as well.
Check them both out after the break!

Trust me It'll be worth it…you'll actually go holy shit!
If only Swervearth was never made.

Except for the sitcom episode and the attention whore episode (where these things were feeding of them) everything pieces together in 50. And in a way I think I understand why the stories were written that way, as they were. It's unfortunate you only get to see this in the concluding issue. That was better in season 1. But I will definitely continue buying MTMTE. After 51 we will see how the book continues.

It's honestly so weird seeing your love for MTMTE diminish this fast. Guess Roberts isn't the savior we all thought he was.

Decide after 50
I know it does not make the issues unhappen you did not like, but judge after reading 50. I was convinced it might be a good thing to drop the book after all you guys said, to make a sign. But after 50 not so much. I hope he continues that way. It's like meeting a long lost friend back, you thought you'd never See again. I read the leak but I will still buy it in 2 weeks.
Rewind
Judging by the comments you've been making about MTMTE for so many months now the book is clearly not your thing anymore and hasn't been for a very long time. Why not just move on rather than continue to suffer? If you're hoping it'll get back to a place that is more to your liking then just check in every so often and see what others are saying about it then dive back in later if it sounds appealing.
SPLIT LIP
I mean, I don't want to count the book out yet, but it's been underwhelming for so very long now. I'm honestly wondering if I should bother reading #50.

Read mtmte 50
SPLIT LIP
Because they're boring as hell. Describe to me what they are besides "fanatical sadists." Because I don't think you really can.
They do if they're going be be recurring this much and built up this much. Hell, Tarn aside we don't even know anything about their motivations besides "loyal." Let alone personalities. For such "big deals" they're shockingly one-dimensional. Plus, the gratuitous violence they favour seems very immature, like it's only there to "shock" the viewer. And this coming from a guy who loves LSOTW, but even that feels old-hat now that these extreme examples are entirely commonplace.
Except payoffs have been where Roberts has consistently failed the most.
I agree completely, except Overlord was treated as an abberation. Even Decepticons feared him, he had this sadistic sophistication to him, and he had an actual personality, backstory and interesting motivation.
The DJD are just Overlord but "better" because there's more of them. Tarn is like a low-rent Overlord even in personality, being more sophisticated. I've actually never noticed it before, but yeah, the DJD are just a weaker version of Overlord.
Thing is I don't find them threatening or entertaining. I'm not sure where the entertainment could possibly come from when I'm not even sure they've all spoken yet. (like seriously the big guys might as well be one character, they're barely even distinguishable on a superficial level)

Can't wait
uranimusprime
I know it's taken a long time, but you guys just wait until they meet up with the crew of the lost light. There will be carnage aplenty. We know they already slaughtered the doppleganger crew. I don't know how you guys are "over" the DJD. Not every bad guy has to have a complex motivation. I think what they've been building towards is Megatron's redemption which should be quite satisfying. James Roberts writing has brought a depth to the TF universe that it has never had. I trust that the payoff with the DJD and Megatron will be well worth the wait.

Very hardcore.
I can kind of agree that the DJD are starting to run its course but this is the endgame so most likely after its all over, we won't see them again…or for a long time at least.

Also, I love the cover, pencils especially. Some of that gorgeous detail gets lost in the (equally gorgeous) mood lighting. Kinda loses the sharpness the pencils had. Both great pics though.
PredaConvoy
I also still like them. Yes, they are boogeymen, but that is in context. I think that seeing bits aside from their heinous acts of death and spilt energon has given them character, even a bit of fun to be had with them (the oh so familiar personal development interview… Very middle management.. *shudder*)
I don't know that they'll ever get official toys.. But I thought that about Straxus and Jhiaxus at the time too.. Maybe one of the DJD needs a name ending in 'axus', and we'll be in with a chance?
Ramberk Magnus
I think the problem with the DJD is that they haven't done much in a while. A large part of the horror and terror in those characters was the psychological factor and the "unavoidable force of nature" characterization. When has anyone actually beaten/overcome the DJD? My memory is foggy but its mostly been just "barely escape with my life" situations when it comes to them.
The Skids flashback was great though.
If we get a big confrontation with the DJD and LL in MTME #50, it's been slowly but not overly built up. I'm really curious what Roberts has planned because none of the build up has been over the top (IMO). It's like a very slow simmer.
This cover doesn't bother me. I just don't find it interesting.

overlord is well adapted to the IDW context. While his inspiring character was broken for having a dark kingdom all for himself where he could do what he wanted like mass impalements and such, overlord seemed to be broken long before garrus 9. Kurts was supposed to be a good man gone wrong because of the war machine, I don't thing overlord ever was .. 'good'.
Rewind
I guess I'm not looking to just be terrified by the DJD, I'm looking to also be entertained, which is why I still love them and look forward to seeing them in issues. I don't really give a shit if they consistently remain a real threat or not.
Haywired
This is pretty much why I consider Galvatron and Overlord much more scary than the entire DJD together. They don't even get high from all this killing (Overlord got bored on Garrus 9 pretty fast, after all, with nobody meaningful to fight), it's just for them killing someone is a completely casual act. They don't give a second though to destroying someone.
Susha
overlord is marlon brandon in apocalypse now, or otherwise colonel kurtz from heart of darkness, (written by Joseph Conrad) hes supposed to die, and stay that way. figuring what to do with him is what happens when things that are supposed to be dead dont. they make trouble. still i enjoyed his cameo on the lost light.
T-Hybrid
They escalated the DJD too quickly. So we're numb to what they're capable of because there's not much more they can ratchet up the violence.
Similar to Overlord in Sins of the Wreckers. He's a terrible monster, but he was so evil where can you possibly go from there?
Susha
totally agree. Tarn needs steroids (the super fuel thing) has addiction issues (regardless of the substance it seems) not to mention having mixed allegiances (since he was once roller and apparently doesn't take off his mask to show his grief).
IDW Glavatron is Conan the barbarian reincarnated in bits and chips, hes the real deal, he doesn't enjoy or despise beating you to smithereens, he just does it.
