The thing that caught my eye was the Classics Compendium solicit. Steve Parkhouse means it's a compendium of the UK Classics range but that's not specified in the book title… which makes me wonder if / hope that this Compendium will combine the UK and US stories in Marvel UK's original order

Roche has been a rock solid writer thus far, but his tone is somewhat rigid. Notice that pretty much all of his stories are about hardened soldiers in grim positions making tough decisions, with a generous dusting of mental illness and gore. It would be unfair to conclude that he can't write outside of that, but I remember being very pleasantly surprised that MTMTE mixed in wit, levity and farce, because Eugenesis and LSotW had led me to believe Roberts would continue Roche's run of slashed fuel pumps, murderous mania and grizzled commando'ing, and I don't think I could have taken 50 issues of that.

I kind of agree but I would assume its all building up towards the pay off at the end.
Whether intentional or not, her work comes across as if she's basically writing for a young under 10s audience or simple-minded adult readers. Now if I were to rate her by that criteria, she does very well. But all of us comic readers here have higher expectations from a Transformers comic these days, preferring the deep mature storylines that we have been treated to since RiD and MTMTE started. Even MTMTE's dumb / goofy stories still show greater depth and maturity than a typical story from Scott.

I don't really think that's a fair criticism based on this one ongoing. His twitter points to something very personal going on right now so this isn't exactly business as usual.
I must admit I was always surprised after Wreckers (which was Nicks book that he brought James on) it was James that suddenly got writing work with IDW. Especially as Nick had a track record of well loved work and James had written nothing except fanfic (and there's no way Schmitt was reading that!).
As time has gone on and my patience and enthusiasm with MTMTE have worn out I find myself wondering what a Roche MTMTE would have been…

So with the final issue in May, when can we expect a hardcover/TPB for SotW? I've been holding off on the series because I wanted a collected edition to go with LSotW on my shelf.
Sockie
He isn't. He's not done anything for Marvel at all lately.
Probe
He can barely keep schedule with a miniseries and he's often busy doing freelance work for the presumably better paying Marvel?
Autovolt 127
It makes me wonder why Nick Roche is not writing an ongoing?
GoLion
Ah. OK. Looking at it from that point of view I can see it. Still, she wrote him exceptionally well during the first mini.
matrixprime
I must be the only one who doesn't like SOTW. That book bored me to death which is odd because I really enjoyed LSOTW

We'll see how TAAO goes.
I'm interested to see how it goes.
Wasn't the context something like how Starscream in Windblade Volume 1 was being written like one of those Creepy, sexually aggressive bosses?
Murasame
They can give the third ongoing to nick
And I want sara back, hope she's well.
GoLion
I'l give TAAO a try. If it's more of the same schlock then I'll never touch anything Scott writes ever again. I've given her far more of a chance simply because I've had so many fans tell me she's so good.
Blitz Wing
I hope that "Till All Are One" does well because I like the fact that we have three ongoings going on in three separate locations. I think everything going on on Cybertron and Earth is too much to be contained in Barber's "Transformers" comic. If Scott doesn't get things back on track, I hope they keep the title alive with a new writer that will follow stories and characters on Cybertron.
GoLion
She just can't write a good comic. She can get some characters right. I've said it before, she writes Starscream exceptionally well. It's everything else I have a problem with.
I don't even care that she made a comment against Furman. She's allowed her opinion. My dislike of her is solely based on the fact that I think she writes boring comics.
She said that? Wow, I do not see Screamer as sexually aggressive at all. I think Starscream is the only character she has written convincingly in her entire time as a writer for IDW.
l0te
I dunno, even Cyclonus and Ultra Magnus managed to make use of their time there… Sort of.
WilyMech
This. Find the stiffest no nonsense person there is uh like Holmes then you get Prowl.
Haywired
I'm not sure if Hedonia would enjoy Prowl.
He needs markings on his paintjob changed from "Highway Patrol" to "Fun Police".
Chances are his holoavatar of choice would be Adrian Monk.
WilyMech
I do not believe Prowl will enjoy Hedonia but perhaps somewhere there is a place IDW Transformers like Vulcan.
bantamm
Prowl deserves a paid vacation to Hedonia after all the bullshit he's been put through over the last few years.
