X-Transbots have updated their Weibo account with final product images of their Master Mini series figures, Boost and Hatch. This duo are unofficial, Masterpiece style versions of Generation 1 Minibots Windcharger and Tailgate, who both feature alternate parts to allow fans to customize their looks to variously resemble their toy and cartoon / comic incarnations. There is also a look at the box art of the duo, which in a cool touch forms a single image when both boxes are placed side by side.
Check out all the new images mirrored and attached to this story.

As is my Tri-yearly tradition, it’s within a month of TFCon so I am praying to the 3P gods that we get a new Windcharger announced in 3 weeks!
MegaOmnitron
This figure has the legs down better than either and I like the head here better.
Yeled
Definitely need another company to jump in on MP Windcharger. This figure doesn't do anything for me.
Turbine027
I meant “legends scale” like NewAge and Magic Square etc …
MegaOmnitron
I’ll take this as a better basis than Legends this figure has better proportions to me.

Would really like to see a FT Windcharger to go with Cliffjumper and Gears as I would group them together as they were in Dinobot hunt in the old Marvel comic

Unfortunately, in the case of XTB, "modern standars" means unnecessary gimmicks that often compromise the figure. Why can't they do like they did with the stunticons? No gimmicks and 100% functioning figures (except for the inevitable QC problems but, hey, it wouldn't be XTB otherwise).

And to drive that home even further the first post from this thread is from mid 2013.
Fanstoys I'm betting that like Cliffjumper they'll design the car the way it was in the cartoon. The proportions will likely be easier to do rather than the real life Pontiac that XTB did and will likely do again with V2.
NewAge really did a good job from I can see with how they managed to actually get his back correct (in that it's grey) that I'm expecting that for a FT version and I'm hoping against hope that the inevitable official SS86 figure will find a way to do the same.

Rather than buy another one of these nightmarish transformation figures, I'll just wait for another company's take on it. I'm still traumatized from when I tried transforming this guy and his legs disintegrated in my hands. I mean into bits and pieces. It was the only MP I own to fall apart like that. I received replacement leg parts since then, but never had the heart to put Humpty Dumpty back together again, so he remains in a drawer wrapped up with a towel to prevent further breakage.
I'll wait for Fans Toys' inevitable take on Windcharger, and hopefully, he comes packaged in bot mode.
*Rolls dice* C'mon Fans Toys!
Rewind
It honestly bugs the shit out of me every time I look at it. “Why are you the only one?”
Hopefully now that Windy is getting some decent legends-sized toys means his moment is coming and there will be some more options rolling out for MP. Curious to see what FansToys could do. I generally do not like their figures much but their minibots usually turn out good. I just hope they get through their weird “pearlescent paint on EVERYONE!” phase before they get to Windcharger.
Turbine027
I’ve long relegated mine to the alt mode display inside my table cubby and emptied up the MP spot

He’ll at least live on there
Ravewind
You and I are in the same boat.
Also in regards to this figure it's still pretty sad that after all this time that this is still the only MP class Windcharger out there.
Rewind
Hopefully any update would be from scratch because there is no amount of changes that would save the existing figure. I usually get rid of figures that I find as unpleasant as this one, but Windcharger has a special place in my heart (first TF toy ever) so I begrudgingly keep this thing around.

Since this thread was bumped it was mentioned in last Saturday's (2-10-24) GrifterPrime's youtube chat that Keith was looking at updating these to "modern standards".
So a V2 for both Windcharger and Tailgate is very likely in the pipeline.
Turbine027
Naaaah … they’d be better off using the Legends mold. To me, this is one of the most dated figures from the “old 3PMP” era
MegaOmnitron
I wish that this would be the basis of a Legacy Windcharger.
Wheeljoker
Way back when I collected MP figures I had decided to sell off my collection and Boost became the only figure that I sold with box and all accessories but he would NOT be transformed and put back in his box. I despise his transformation
dotjpeg
genuinely would buy the hell out of KITT/KARR remoulds or repaints.
it's the only reason i'm even interested in this mould because the alt mode is so close.
Girl Pants
Maybe I'm in the minority, or my copy had weird tolerances, but the leg transformation isn't abysmal for me (it's still WAY more frustrating/scary than it should be), but the thing that really is impossible for me is getting the shoulders back into position for car mode. It's probably the first toy that I even gave up on transforming. I just keep him in a bin in robot mode when not on display rather than try to put him in car mode in the box. It has been a few weeks though, maybe I should try it again…
The Crazy Collector
Got it, thank you both! So yellow Tailgate is an unreleased version that is very similar to the SA version and the silver/blue version (which I mistakenly thought was glossy black with a lot of glare) is Rook.
