Botcon has posted on Youtube this morning a commercial for their show coming up in a couple months. The video features David Kaye reprising his role as Megatron talking about the characters featured in this year’s boxset. The most exciting part of the video is in the last few moments of the video we see Megatron as the canceled Official Transformers Collector’s Convention Robots In Disguise Megatron repaint!
Do you guys think this is an official confirmation as Botcon 2016 exclusive figure, or just a small homage? Discuss your thought in the discussion.

Botcon related: Can *somebody* who will be at the Hasbro panel finally ask them what the plan was for Wreck Gar in CW? They revealed him at 2015 Botcon as a member of Sky Reign…and yet we've gotten literally *nothing* as to how he combines.
Did they axe it? Or is it just an undocumented feature like when none of the Prime Terrorcons included Abominus info on their package?

Pete said that there'd be an average of 1060 per exclusive. No way are these numbers correct.
EDIT: It has been clarified for me that the average only covers the four single-packs and the 3-pack troop builders.
Still, these numbers are too high to be possible.

I can believe they'd make the most out of him…because he'd be most likely to sell out even after the Con.

If true I love that Megatron is the one they made the most of.
That should make getting him a bit easier.

Forgot about that one… That would drastically reduce the average. For instance, if it were JUST the GT figure and Megatron, there would need to be 2020 Megatrons to be 1060 on average.
I have no doubt that after sitting on all the Diaclone stuff from 2015 they decided to reduce the production, but they'd be insane to severely limit something that's been talked about for a decade.

But at the same time I can imagine they also don't want to make too many and be left like the last couple years with souvenirs that go unsold and have to be sold on clearance in the club store. While I really doubt that would happen with Megatron it may just be a case of playing it safe for them and manufacturing an amount they know for a fact they can sell.
As for the Freebie and Custom Class figures, the only one that seems like they'd be made in lower quantities is the attendee freebie. With registration they can figure out about how many they need made so they don't make way more than they actually need. The custom class figure though is also available at the club store so the quantity those are produced in could be on par with the other souvenirs. Heck the club store online had some Galva Lio-Convoys available for awhile.
Oh, and on the topic of product counts the Golden Ticket souvenir is confirmed at 100 pieces correct? If memory serves wouldn't that make it the record holder for lowest quantity produced of any Botcon exclusive?
Lord Black Cat
I'm kind of hoping they're counting the golden ticket souvenir as part of the average, just to bring the average down even lower.

Considering that the Custom Class figure and the Freebie figure must by necessity be made in lower quantities, they would balance out a large run of Megatron. Not everyone who gets a box set would necessarily get a custom class figure or the freebie due to Iacon sets, but they'd be foolish not to boost the number of Megatrons to sell.

Just out of curiosity, is there any chance that rumor just has transposed numbers (e.g there are 1600 on average)? 1060 seems a bit low, although 1600 seems high.
G.B. Blackrock
I'm told that Pete's said the exclusives only average 1060 (odd number, which is part of what lends credence to the rumor, IMHO) this year.
Autobot City Comics 2008
if terrorsaur is the freebee those numbers might be different since they give dealer booth one as well as the volunteers

On Twitter they said apparently over half of the non-attending sets have sold and more GT than last year. Although unfortunately no solid numbers.
It'll be great to see that the numbers could/will be lower this year. However unfortunate for those that aren't able to attend or purchase figures that they want at a price that doesn't suffer from the secondary market.
Primal Sabbath
Anyone have any other clues or ideas about the price for this thing? Or even ballpark number for how many were made? I can honestly say I've never been this excited about an exclusive in a long time! So glad it's finally happening!

You're true to a degree, however a majority of the old shows offered a maximum of two figures up until 02, where they offered four; two extras were G1 Keychain minibots, so not too much of a gamble. OTFCC 03 only technically had two offerings, as Sunstreaker was a "freebie" to those who registered a room at the hotel. And OTFCC 04 only offered two (well we know the story behind one of them only making it).
I think that method totally works with less than 5 figures (all of which were available at pre-registrstion). But for 10 or more? The bundle option to me seems the better way to go, from a financial stand-point. But hey, if people get to pick and choose instead of buying all of them and that suits their wants, more power to them!
JLvatron
Business-wise, it's a bigger gamble to sell them individually.
You can easily have the top sellers sell out, but be stuck with 3 extras.
That's why the old BotCon & OTFCC's weren't so financially stable, unfortunately.
Primal Sabbath
Right. We prefer people to watch it, since it's a video podcast where we do screenshots
