Snakas (Autobase Aichi) has just given us our first full looks at Takara’s upcoming Transformers Adventure TAV-38 Thunderhoof and TAV-39 Quillfire! These are the Japanese versions of Hasbro’s two recently-released Robots in Disguise Warrior class figures, featuring many added paint applications. These pictures show them off in both their robot and vehicle modes.
Will you be splurging for these these, or will you stick with the Hasbro releases? Let us know on the boards!

It slots into the top of the tractor. (also there is storage under the tractor)
I have to track down the Takara version. The paint is so much better. Looks great in the reviews on Youtube.
Thundershot
I'm looking forward to having these guys. All paid up at HLJ for EMS..
The Kup
I can't wait for Thunderhoof and Quillfire to come next week!

I totally forgot these guys were coming out this month. I just got a payment request from HLJ. The total was $50 and some change for the pair shipped by EMS. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to drop the $42 to join the club before Friday. Now I kind of wish I hadn't ordered G2 Menasor this morning.
Grimlockimus
That picture's been out for awhile now.
On the topic of his alt-mode though I think that was the deciding factor for me picking him up. I can just add some grey paint apps to his arms and legs without much of a hassle, but with the US release I'd have to paint the right shade of brown/tan onto the entire figure due to the tan/dark brown split.
Robogeek28
Neat idea.
Minus the club that is.

I'm not seeing how a car with an animal head looks like a battle beast.
Does that gun store somewhere?
Underlord
Is this the first time we've seen tav quillfire's alt mode?

It's from hobby link Japan's listing BTW.
Exinferis
Damn it! I was thinking of cancelling my PO for these two as there's a lot coming out this month, but those pics are making it really hard to!

Was thinking this yesterday, when someone in another thread mentioned the (I think coincidental) similarity between RiD 'Cons and Battle Beasts.
As my avatar would imply, I'm quite fond of Battle Beasts. So I'd be all over a set of BB-themed repaints. Especially if you replaced their little RiD fruit stickers with heat-sensitive Battle Beast rubsigns.

If FunPub wasn't ending this year, this would be a good future box set idea.
Autoboty
Well, the theme for the NuRid Decepticons are animal resemblances both in appearance and in habit…
Robogeek28
Indeed.
I wasn't a fan at first, but their quirkiness quickly won me over, so I can deal with it for one line. Plus, not all of the Decepticons have animal/bot hybrid robot modes, so it's not like it's completely forced down our throats.
Haywired
Pretty much why I want battlebeastsformers of NuRiD.
They're something quirky and fresh.
Chronix
Oh, he does have them. I guess I just didn't see them due to the angle of the photos.
Chaos Prime
Battle Beasts! Thank you! I have a whole baggy full of these guys, and I forgot what they were called!!
Chaos Prime
Wow, Quilfire looks pretty cool. And mind you this is coming from a guy who has passed on every RID figure but legends Fixxit.
dCon
lol

I don't mean to be a jerk, but just because it is a transformer doesn't mean you have to buy it.
Quillfire looks more like a battle beast than a transformer.
Haywired
The only metallic parts on Takara Quillfire are paint apps on his lights and head. The plastic looks like brown except more saturated than on Hasbro figure.
