Hubcap is key.
Probably still not as much as Megatron. I hope.
Now that would be a twist.
Or the Snoke to Kylo Ren.
I would hope so.

Plus, from the looks of it, Prowl (in his big Vader costume, no less) is about to pick up Mesothulas and throw him into an energy abyss.

I don't think you're that far off actually. From what we're seeing,Prowl did show at least some moral conscience or what was left of it and Mesothulas seems to be the one responsible for getting rid of that entirely later on.
SMOG
Exactly! I was hoping Roche would play it a little more subtle than that. Dropping a massive bomb in a civilian area with a big "Decepticon" sticker on it feels a bit hamfisted. Mind you, that seems to have been Mesothulas' plan, not his… but I have a hard time seeing him executing that plan. Surely if we wanted more dirt on Prowl, we could have come up with some more serpentine plots? I mean, what he did to Kup? Brilliant. And does ANYBODY here think that he really wanted or expected Impactor to bring Squadron X back alive? I expect that turned out exactly as planned, with Impactor as the fall guy. That kind of stuff feels like his MO… not this bomb stuff though.
Could be. I mean, I kind of got the impression that Prowl was like that even before the war… but we'll see.
Yeah, totally! And no freak-outs yet… just eyebrow-raising concern. It's just a preview. And Roche has certainly earned a fair shake.

Yes, I agree. For Prowl it's a bit extreme and FAR too direct. However, I'm just sitting back and reminding myself that this is Roche behind the wheel, he's the one that made me love IDW Prowl so much and the man behind what I consider the defining Prowl story in the entire TF universe. I imagine this extreme villainy flashback will be what leads him into the more subtle, manipulative and intelligent Prowl that I love so much. The contrast between Mesothulas' and Prowl's ways hopefully will be a very important plot point. I'm not going to freak out at the concept of Roche writing Prowl like Barber yet.

Looks better than the last issue.
SMOG
Yeah, actually setting a bomb to kill 1400 neutrals just so the Cons get blamed does seem a bit extreme even for Prowl. It crosses a line in very direct terms… between moral abiguity and plausible deniability, and into outright cartoonish evil. Hm.

Spartan Prime
Looks a lot like a Protoform to me. Beast Wars was fluid with them. But these look more like the Animated takes.

Absolutely LOVE the preview! First issue was OK but issue 2 was fantastic and this looks even better!
Negativedark
Probably second to Megatron's.
Kantus Prime
Claw Jaw?
Megastar
It seems Mesothulas is the Emperor to Prowl's Vader.

I've heard a couple theories in the past stating that Sideways=Tarantulas, and it was even (jokingly) confirmed when Sideways took over the Ask Vector Prime blog. There are so many cues pointing to Tarantulas, it's ridiculous. But at the same time, that whole past design, coupled with the use of the name "Noisemaze," seriously has me thinking that maybe they will be some hybrid or something to that effect.
Reflector Prime
yeah i fukkan wondurr
Omegax80
I… Love… This… COMIC!
Sockie
As shown right in the preview, the Noisemaze in IDW is a pocket dimension, not a person.
Ra88
They're definitely rolling the two characters into one. Wouldn't count on him being named Sideways though. Or working for Unicron.
Also, on Hubcap:
yellow/black robot.
patched into comm network.
might very well be partially organic.
Calling it now, he's Hunter. Might as well get the crazy speculation out of the way.
PredaconElder
I wonder if this is a lead-in for the coming of Unicron into IDW.
Purple Heart
Well It's obviously Tarantulas. But it's so inspired by Sideways.
The Noisemaze, Looking similar to him. Being able to cross dimenions.
Are they implying that Tarantulas is Sidways? They where both also motorcycles, this Tarantulas obviously is too.
EDIT: They were both spies too! And what if he's able to survive in the Noisemaze without being effected by wearing his helment! It keeps going!!
