BURBANK, C.A. – January 13, 2015 – Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based entertainment division of Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced today that the popular kids television series Transformers: Robots in Disguise will return for a second season on Cartoon Network in the U.S., which consistently ranks as a top-rated network in Total Day for kids ages 6-11. The latest installment in the global TRANSFORMERS franchise will debut its second season in the first quarter of 2016.
“Transformers: Robots in Disguise continues to be a massive hit with kids across the country, launching with an outstanding debut season on Cartoon Network,” said Hasbro’s Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Stephen Davis. “Season two will bring back Bumblebee and his Autobots team for all new action-packed battles, fun-filled adventures and other humorous new characters with vibrant personalities that made season one a hit with kids. We continue to listen to our viewers’ feedback and are bringing back many fan-favorite characters, as well as some great surprises we know kids of all ages are going to love.”
Set years after “Transformers: Prime,” Robots in Disguise stars the lovable Bumblebee character, summoned by Optimus Prime to lead in a fight to save Earth from a new faction of escaped Decepticon prisoners by assembling a rogue team of unlikely Autobot heroes to capture their new enemies. Season two will see the return of a more confident, battle-tested Bumblebee as the leader of the Autobots, including his teammates Grimlock, Sideswipe, Strongarm, Fixit, Windblade and Drift. Protecting Earth becomes a mighty task as the team prepares to battle against menacing pairs of Cyclone Mini-Cons, who partner with Deployers to unleash the most powerful attacks and wreak even more destruction than ever. Our hero Bumblebee and his team prepare for battle with new power-ups and mini-con allies of their own, as they maintain their mission to protect the planet as robots in disguise. The series will continue to celebrate the continuous underlying themes of teamwork, companionship and the importance of standing up to wrongdoers.
The highly innovative TRANSFORMERS franchise is one of the largest global brands, spanning across television, film, consumer products and digital entertainment properties including gaming, apps, publishing, transmedia events, toys and licensing.

I saw the picture of Optimus, maybe "his time on Earth as ended" as has to go back to the realm of the dead.
janeDoe001
Yeah, I meant that Optimus was getting the vision. Sorry, should've been more specific.

They're not canceling the series. There was a report out earlier this Month, that stated the series was only commissioned for two full seasons, and one movie.
Prime135
Give it to Netflix!!!!! A netflix original transformers show in the prime continuity would be a thing of beauty.

Ratings are average. Not quite up there with TNMT and Adventure Time… but when you compare it to DisneyXD stuff, it's right there with SW: Rebels and is beating Guardians of the Galaxy 2:1… pretty good for 6:30am time slot.
Hollywood Hoist
Maybe they're going a different direction with future shows. Maybe they'll do a netflix show.
Ratings may not be good, but at least it's a great show.
Wild Eevee
If RID is such a massive hit, then why are they cancelling it after only two seasons and reducing the number of episodes in season two???

What do you mean by some sort of vision? You don't mean him being the vision right? Something else ?

Did Hasbro themselves make the WinGblade typo? (It's correct later on).

This probably explains the arctic deco then.

Optimus looks screwed.
RobotKnight95
Well I learned something today.
BumblebeeNotOP
Sideswipe, Windblade and Drift looks possessed

Saw the first image:
Can't wait to see the season (although reading the synopsis for season 2, I can see why they reduced the episode.)

DOTM Bumblebee
I'm not too interested in the Cyclone Minicons, but revisiting old faces and seeing where these characters go from here really has me hooked.

Now… is this going to air on a time slot other than six in the frickin morning on a Saturday, and only once!?!?
dCon
This is good news. I'm psyched up I pretty much just power watched the last half of season one because I was giving one DVR up for another so RID'15 is fresh in my mind
Bring on RID'16
Another thing I thought of was it be really cool if the reason they were ending this was another show from the prime saga because didnt someone from Hasbro say it was part if a trilogy? Food for thought anyway
SunSwipe5
Well, looks like I'll be buying the inevitable Desert Camo Swipe, Drift and Windblade. They actually look pretty cool in that still.
I still would love to trade Strongarm for Smokescreen.
Acadia
I didn't really care much for season 1, for multiple reasons. Season 2 stepping up its game would be nice.

That animation still of Sideswipe, Windblade and Drift, damn it's beautiful.
