TFW2005 member Negronicus has just provided us with our first in-hand images of Warrior Class Thunderhoof! Thunderhoof is a welcome sight to collectors as he immediately boosts the Decepticon rank in of the Robots In Disguise toy line, which has been lacking extensively!
With these in-hand images we hopefully can expect to see Thunderhoof on retail shelves shortly. Check out the images after the jump!

Picked this guy up solely on my appreciation for the character.
But im here to tell you..this is possibly the best damn RID figure ive had my hands on.
Its really one of the most unique TFmations ive seen in years. The overall quality is pretty good, and the bot mode is pretty decent size.
Tractor mode is compact and has a decent heft from so much compacting into a small frame.
I really enjoy this one. I have a hard time justifying $15+ for any RID deluxe..but this one, along with quilfire, windblade, fracture and scorponok are well worth the price of entry.
find this one..and enjoy!!

I cant understand the praise this figure is getting. The alt mode is good, but the fact that the head isnt really hidden is disappointing. In addition, the robot mode feels very hollow….Quillfire is a superior figure in every way except for maybe the alt mode choice.

He looks like his show counterpart. I'm wondering what more you thought they could do to make him less of a "normal robot" without straying farther from how he's represented in the cartoon.

Robot Mode: Let us begin with Thunderhoof’s most remarkable feature, his antlers. The rake of his vehicle mode ends up on top of his head and is displayed prominently. You can either leave the rake level or slightly fold it together so that the tips of the antlers point a bit inward. I prefer the latter version, which is the official one, but both work so I left the antlers straight in some pics. Either way, Thunderhoof’s antlers look great.
Apart from the antlers, though, Thunderhoof is a pretty generic robot. Mostly blue and black, he has the wheels of his vehicle mode on arms and legs and is nicely articulated. He comes with a black rifle (which he has never used in the cartoon) and… yeah, not that much else I can write here. Don’t get me wrong, I like Thunderhoof, but for some reason I expected a bit more here. Not sure what, to be honest, but overall I can only say that the robot mode is good.
Alternate Mode: Thunderhoof transforms into a tractor with a big rake up front. The transformation is pretty straight-forward and the result is nice, no visible robot bits. The only slight downside is that the side windows of the tractor are mostly black, but partially blue, and the separation of the differently-colored parts is diagonal. This makes it look as if Thunderhoof’s windows have been taped over with black tarp because they’re broken or something. At least that was my first impression. Either way, though, a decent vehicle mode. Not spectacular, but fully okay.
Remarks: Thunderhoof was one of the many Decepticon criminals imprisoned on the Alchemore who escaped when the prison ship crashed on Earth. A former crime boss on Cybertron, he fell under the command of Steeljaw (which he didn't like, but apparently Steeljaw made him an offer he couldn’t refuse). He talked like a stereotypical New Jersey Mafioso and when I first saw a promo image of him, I so hoped that they would wind up calling him Ultimoose! Anyway, Thunderhoof was present for both end-of-season battles in the RID cartoon and saw himself defeated and imprisoned by the Autobots both times. Tough luck.
As a toy Thunderhoof is very solid and I love his antlers, but for some reason I can’t really get excited about this figure beyond that. While most of the other RID bad guys look really far-out, he’s basically just a normal robot with antlers on his head. Too little in the way of strangeness. Anyway, he’s good and there are too few Decepticon toys in the RID toyline anyway, so I do recommend him.

Finally found one in the wild today. I have to say this is my favorite RID figure so far. Both of his modes are fun and I don't really have a problem with his shoulders. Defienetly one of the best RID figures.

So… this toy…
This is everything a main line inexpensive Transformer should be. It is visually interesting in all modes, non-frustrating to play with, engaging to transform, and is "new" in both robot design and choice of alt mode.
It's just about perfect for what it is.
What I want to know is, if they can do this with a nothing generic bad guy, why are the heroes in this line all dull as dish water?
Anyway, more of this, please.

Awesome character on the show, really nice toy. Might not get his proportions exactly right but just looks awesome, plus novel altmode.
The Takara one also is miles above the Hasbro one, thanks to a stellar paintjob. I highly recommend getting that one if you're able to choose.
I don't really have problems with the shoulders bumping into the antlers after I found out the antlers swivel up a bit further to get out of the way (yay for instructions). However I'm sure it will be a problem for people who're into more crazy action poses. Minor downside to an amazing toy?
Just thinking out loud here, but is it possible you're holding your thumb on the stickers while handling/transforming the figures? I personally have really dry hands, but I know a couple of friends who have more sweaty palms – apparently that can sometimes cause some slightly acidic damage to stuff like guitar strings or stickers.
Not saying you're a sweaty person, mind you, but apparently it's possible for everyone whose hands don't look and feel like the Grand Canyon, like mine.

Just got Thunderhoof from HTS. There is one major reason as to why I love RiD15 and it is the unique Decepticon designs and Thunderhoof (and Quillfire) prove it. I love this guy and I'm not just bias because he is up there with Steeljaw & Bisk as my favorite RiD cons. He's tall, blue, and I love the thin gun he comes with. There is just so much to gush over, this guy is amazing! Highly recommend him.

I picked one up as it was relatively cheap, and I really dig the 'con designs. I had no interest in these toys until I watched the show on Netflix. I think the other reviews covered most of the good and bad points.
Good: He is a nice looking, unique robot deer-man tractor design and a wildly complex transformation. Everything clicks in well, very solid in both modes, with the exception of the robot head just turned over facing the ground. A minor gripe, but the whole thing changes around so much, you'd think a simple telescoping feature to hide the head would be relatively simple.
Look how much things change around and the head is still basically exposed in tractor mode:
Bad: Like most NuRID, he is small for a deluxe, a bit hollow in the robot legs, but still very stable. Vehicle mode is very compact. Big antlers and shoulders in robot mode bump in to each other.

The four Adventure releases I have; Jazz, Drift, Fracture, Quillfire all have perfect quality stickers. I mean I've never transformed any of them but still good quality. Sorry this happened to you, you could potentially return it stating you can't play game because of the wear/tear.
MidnightBliss
My only issue with Thunderhoof is that the antlers are always hitting his shoulders.
G1Wheeljack
I've noticed the sticker symbol on my Adventure Quillfire has a lot of wear for no reason. My Thunderhoof is also starting to have this issue. These are my first Adventure figures, are the stickers just cheap & they always wear easily? I haven't done anything to cause this.

Thanks and yes, it's cheaper and easier to get Takara Tomy's right now. I was looking at how much the Hasbro ones were going for and it's ridiculous! Takara Tomy's look so much better and they're more accurate.
deliciouspeter
Nice. Thanks for posting those. I have a TAV on the way, as it's cheaper than a hasbro one!

I just got my Transformers Adventure TAV-38 Thunderhoof 2 days ago and he's awesome!

Has anyone seen this one for sale online as a single release? BBTS has the case, but not the individual.

WOW! Pretty cool!

I'm buying all the warrior decepticons from takara. It would be nicer if thunderhoof had more show accurate antlers.

Ha! I.knew it thanks bro he looks fantastic. And you fixed the shoulders better too. It looks like his actual shoulders slide into.the wheel hubs as shoulder armor. Am I correct?
Tanks again buddy I knew the antlers were wrong before because it was exactly how it cane out the box and seeing the pic of the backside of him you can see the hinge.
To the original poster your gonna wanna fix the antlers and shoulders buddy these things always have to be adjusted when straight out the package
