Earlier this week, the famous collector’s car auction Barrett-Jackson posted an article showcasing two gorgeous vehicles that will catch the attention of Transformers fans. Up for auction this January in Scottsdale, Arizona will be the actual vehicles of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as seen on the silver screen!
Optimus Prime is offered to the highest bidder as seen in the first three live action films (Transformers, Revenge Of The Fallen, Dark Of The Moon). More info from Barrett-Jackson:
Like the movie character that it represents, Optimus Prime (Lot #1325.1) is big. It has real presence. Its shiny oversized exhaust stacks produce a rumble distinctive to its character. While the big truck doesn’t transform into a two-story synthetic military leader from Cyberton, it is a fully functional vehicle with a real VIN and title. As the title is even in Paramount Pictures’ name, you know you’re adding a true celebrity to your collection. Optimus Prime has some interesting features, including a mirror-finished custom aluminum bumper with matching aluminum wheels, tanks and storage boxes. Behind the extra-deep sleeper unit is an armor-like “headache rack.”
The Bumblebee is the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Resto-Mod as seen on the Age of Extinction film:
After its appearance on the silver screen, this particular 1967 Camaro selling at Barrett-Jackson has lived a charmed life as part of Michael Bay’s personal collection. This is no movie prop, though. It’s a running, driving car that can be enjoyed to the fullest. It’s also a full-fledged Resto-Mod Camaro with modern equipment and amenities wrapped in classic ’60s sheet metal. Resto-Mods are extremely popular these days, with similar Camaros selling for top dollar.
These two movie vehicles are sure to fetch top dollar, but if you’re in line for the auction and plan on making a bid for them … please do stop by to share some photos! Check out more images after the jump and read the full article here!

Optimus only went for $110K??? Awwww, I missed the action, wouldn't pay that much for Bee for sure.

And Bee goes for $152,000
A walk-on part for that winner as well.
Not bad at all. I figured Optimus would go for $75-125K. Bee did better than I thought, figured maybe $100-125K.

Optimus is going across the block now. Michael Bay is on hand hyping it up. Played a short clip video beforehand. Threw in a set of 4 DVD's signed by Bay as well.
Not to mention a walk-on part in Transformers 5
And he goes for……….
SOLD for $110,000
And Bumblebee is up next.

That may look like a '67 Camaro but literally everything else is %100 modern and/or state of the art. Usually what happens is they take a modern Camaro and outfit it with a heavily modified classic body. It retain's most of the aspect's of the modern vehicle unless they choose to retain or mimic some of the original features. I am guessing it doesn't have power windows because it was easier to work with as a prop vehicle… like not having to turn it on to roll the windows down.
Though expensive, it has become very popular because you can have this awesome vintage looking car but all the modern amenities and safety features without sacrificing style.
The RTR-X Mustang is a similar concept:

Yes, I am a muscle car freak… both vintage and modern.

If you've never been and are that close, you should give it a shot. I went to the Palm Beach one a few years back. Not a knowledgable car guy, but I had a blast and Scottsdale is a much larger production.
Autovolt 127
That's actually a good kickstarter idea.

I think if everyone on the boards chipped in, we could manage that.

So, I believe a Kickstarter is in order. Buy the Peterbilt and give it to Cullen. He's done so much for us, time to give back.

If only I was a millionaire.

I cant say I have a definite use for a Peterbit 379 but when I say I need one, I need THAT ONE!!!!!
EagleTron
I would buy that Bummble bee car if I was the man.
That thing looks sick.

It's hilarious to read the usual stupid overselling PR spin on these. Did they lose value with Bay's signature?
Angry Camaro
Guess the mods didn't see my post…?

All for one, one for all?

power windows in 67 was a very rare option

Man, I would never be able to justify owning a Peterbuilt semi cab, but damn if I don't want that…
Sorrow Six Star
I'm not a big Camaro fan but that is a well done car.
