Shout! Factory has listed a pair of new DVDs for the two ongoing Transformers animated shows.
First up is a DVD for Robots in Disguise. Titled “Mission Discovery“, this DVD collects five episodes of the show from various points of the first season – no, they are not in order! The five episodes are True Colors, Adventures in Bumblebee Sitting, Even Robots Have Nightmares, Some Body, Any Body, and The Trouble with Fixit. It’s a good spread of episodes which gives most of the main cast a focus episode on the disk, if you’re looking for a sampler of the series. It’s due out on February 9, 2016.
Next up is a DVD for Rescue Bots, titled “Adventures in Time and Space“. Like the Robots in Disguise DVD, there’s five episodes on the disk from across the whole run of the show’s three seasons, which is par for the course with Shout’s Rescue Bots DVDs. The five episodes on this disk are It’s a Bot Time, Unfinished Business, Switcheroo, Time After Time, and The Last of Morocco. Yes, those familiar with the show might spot that there’s the first half of a two-part story on there – perhaps Shout! will edit out the cliffhanger ending? For those who are fans of Tim Curry, his character, Dr. Morocco, is featured in some of the episodes on this set and is referenced in others. This DVD is due out on February 23, 2016.

so why haven't they tried to get the rights? This really concerns me. I understand not doing RID 2015 in a full set (yet). It is focused more towards kids and want to make it affordable for the parents. Remember, Armada was originally released in 2 sets. Not a whole lot of ppl got Energon and Cybertron, being $40-$50 per set.
All the past seasons were re-released in a single set because they each apply to older fans now. RID 2015 is very likely to have a full release of some kind in the future, but not likely too soon. Still, I am extremely bothered by this lack of interest in RID 2001, especially considering it is the last unreleased Transformers series to date. It may be less known, yet it still remained popular, and the demand for it at this point is pretty high

I'm with you if Saban can get Power Rangers back. Then if Hasbro will just try they can get the 2001 RID back.

Why are they releasing these in bits when they've released every other series (minus 2001 RID) in full season sets?

Now I'm relieved that I jumped on the Australian RID Season One boxset when it was released, as I was half worried that a better/cheaper American version would be released… but also half worried that Shout Factory would do the same as they did with Rescue Bots and just release random episodes.

I don't how there not Saban got the rights to Power Rangers back. Why is hasbro letting Disney keep the rights to a TF Cartoon??
Ejector369
Hasbro and Shout! Factory really need to buy the rights to RID 2001 back from Disney!

I wound up settling for rips of the original RID. Stupid rights BS keeping it from NA.

Buy the RID one from Australia. I had to also buy a region free player. But it plays all 26 episodes.
