Good news for those collectors itching for more Combiner Wars figures, a new in-package image of Combiner Wars Scattershot and Onslaught has been found! These two Voyager Class figures are redecos / retools of the Silverbolt and Hot Spot mold and should be seeing a full release later this month, along with the new deluxe wave featuring Blast Off, Brawl, Vortex, and Swindle.
Be on the lookout for more images as we get further into November.

All they need for that to work is the combiner port/peg and the figure's engineering. Problem being, Scattershot's lazy color scheme and reused combiner head isn't any of those things.

Well, it seems to me that they are trying to keep everything uniform to a certain degree, that is why many of the toys are using the same basic platform, that way they can all fit together. They can have pretty much any limb fit with pretty much any core.
Anguirus
^ Yeah but their parts count was in the toilet by comparison.
Cosablanca
Relax dude. No need to be pedantic.
My point is that it seems that there's barely any effort by Hasbro with these new figures.
Even the G1 equivalent toys had more variability.

That's not even remotely what a repaint is. At all.
A repaint is changing the paint operations while keeping the same base colors. An example of a repaint would be Masterpiece Laserbeak and Buzzsaw.
This is actually a retool. It changes parts from the original figure to make it different.
I'm not saying you shouldn't have an opinion, but, for the love of all that is Primus, research what a repaint and a retool is first.

They are def being cheap.
I can't believe this is another repaint.
I rather spend money on 3rd parties.
This is just cheap and insulting to customers.

Scattershot looks worse in reviews than I thought he would. Just too much red.

I'm okay with most of the weird. I love some G1 but I also like things shaken up a bit so if they do something outside of the rules of G1 or go outside of established history I'm okay with them saying hey what if this character decided to get in on the combiners bandwagon, that character went Headmasters, or this other character went Targetmasters.
Only thing that really seems to get me lately is the idea of releasing a combiner torso with no limbs. Just doesn't seem like a huge threat if your combiner mode is a robot without any arms or legs. I can deal with the idea of extra arm or leg for the team going well maybe they are a scout for the team or maybe some sort of infantry backup to the big guy. But Cyclonus turns into just an armless and legless torso is just a little too weird.
Which is why I'd really like at least some strong official hint at the rest of the team before buying a torso.
GoLion
Scattershot isn't that bad. All a third party needs to do is make some new legs/chest and a Computron head. Problem solved.
I'm also let down by a lack of dong mode. Oh well. Life goes on.

Firs Aid was released under Combiner Wars Wave 3.
Blades is retool of Alpha Bravo
Streetwise is retool of Dead End
Rook is new mold. Replaced in Takara Defensro by Groove, a new mold.
incapable hulk
Yep, that is where I am at too!
FanimusMaximus
Someone please tell me that there's gonna be a 3rd party Computron head to replace this crappy one.

My 2c.
After reading the review and watching the video reviews.
Onslaught:
I like overall, but I prefer the olive green turret/combiner torso version. I think it looks better in vehicle mode, and pretty good as torso.
Scattershot:
Robot mode is good.
I like the alt mode. To me, looks like a streamlined update of the flying gunship alt of the original figure.
In addition, I think this mold works better as Scattershot that as either Silverbolt or Cyclonus. It was too chunky to really pass as a sleek SST (I know that's always been with ant Silverbolt figure) and Cyclonus' streamlined stealthy looking spacefighter alt. The blocky look gives a better feeling of the flying gun platform that I always considered Scattershot lt to be.
As for the torso mode. So much red. Perhaps some aftermarket stickers might help?
Dark_T_Zeratul
Since the only way I could preorder silver chest Onslaught was paired with Scattorshot, yes – I want Technobot limbs because that's the only way I'll consider getting Scattorshot worth it.
Autoboty
It's no use. A polished turd is still a turd.
CodeXCDM
Perfect Effect and other 3rd Parties better get on with making a turd polishing kit.

Although I like the look of Scattershot in this mold, this pretty much seals the deal on my purchase of Quantron instead.
