The Generation 2 Combiner Wars images are starting to come in, this morning we have an update for you courtesy of Facebook user Bensimus. Two new images show off the combined form of Menasor and Superion in all of their G2 color greatness.
These sets are supposed to hit early 2016, enjoy the early looks and continue the discussion with the forum link below.
Transfan2
In regards to lack of G2 Dead End Vs G2 CW Dead End…it is because I don't currently have original G2 Dead End at this time.

Well, the majority of them are. There are some that are carried by normal retailers like TRU and Target.
Autobot Burnout
Given Transfan2 has provided us with comparison pics of his in-hand production samples of the G2 CW Stunticons AND the original G2 Stunticons themselves, I don't think the CW guys are nearly as poorly done as you say.
Breakdown:
Missing the roof decal but really, the things G2 Breakdown is remembered as having are all there otherwise and the CW toy looks better without the random, color-clashing splash on the roof anyway in my opinion. CW also doesn't have purple door handles but it has painted headlights so beyond the roof decal the two are virtually identical in every way.
Dragstrip
As you can see, CW Dragstrip does have both a gold chest and that checkerboard pattern on the spoiler feet – just slightly darker than the original but it is blue and purple (the official pics from Hasbro show the purple better). And while he does lack the black/yellow checker stripes on the sides/arms and it proudly saying DRAGSTRIP on either side of the driver's seat, honestly the more modernized design replacing that all with blue breaks up what is otherwise a 100% solid black race car and makes it more interesting. I'm sure Reprolabels will come up with something if you really need those checkerbox lines on his arms, but given how beyond the blue arms CW G2 Dragstrip is fairly faithful to the original design, there's no slacking off here.
Dead End
I'm not sure why a comparison between the original and CW G2 Dead End figures was left out of Transfan2's pics, but from what can be seen the CW G2 Dead End toy is, like the others, fairly faithful. The original doesn't feature that many "big" decals, just the hood symbol, the roof proudly saying his name, and the fireball on either side, and while the roof decal is absent most likely due to how difficult it would be to fit around the arm which the windshield folds back on, the other two are quite clearly present on the CW toy as well.
Wildrider
Obviously, the only thing from the original that the CW lacks is the black name lettering on the sides, but the CW does have black lining in the same general area all the same (along with what looks like dirt spray behind the front wheels for some reason, I dunno why). Strangely, here the CW toy does have the roof decal (missing from Transfan2's original, but the sealed card pics from google image search confirm G2 Wildrider has a roof decal) so no idea why he's got one and neither Breakdown nor Dead End have theirs, but it might have to do with how Wildrider's roof decal is isolated to only span the windshield's arm and not the width of the entire roof, along with serving to break up that sea of yellow that his roof really is otherwise.
Motormaster:
A lot of the "G2" type stickers from Motormaster were on his trailer, which obviously the CW incarnation lacks, so most of those couldn't be replicated no matter what. However, it also looks like no known example of G2 Motormaster's original toy in existence actually has any suggestion to what the robot mode stickers would have looked like, so no way to replicate those, either. What the CW toy does, rather, is replicate the color palette of the original toy as much as it can and has red accents all over the place similar to the red G2 stickers on the original toy's trailer. So, going off of what's actually known about G2 Motormaster's deco, CW G2 Motormaster is pretty accurate I'd say.
Blackjack:
He's the drone car chest plate and he's purple, like the original. Not much else to be said here.
So, overall, the decos are far more accurate than you seem to believe, given how the G2 Stunticons are some of the most absurdly rare toys in existence.
That, and just because the Aerialbots all have their wing designs faithfully recreated doesn't mean they paid for it, either. Their robot modes barely have any paint on them because of the complex wing decos!

Actually, the reason why Menasor looks so incomplete is because, excluding Breakdown, all of the other Stunticons (including Menasor) never got released, and it would be unlikely that Hasbro had one in their possession, unlike Superion, which got released in mass retail during 1994.
RNSrobot
Maybe but Drag Strip looks gorrrrgeous.
I have a nostalgic attachment to G2 Air Raid and Silverbolt. Never had the originals, but picked up the G2 when that line came out, when I was 11-12. When I picture Air Raid he's always blue!!

Platinum are online exclusives? Maybe some, but most I've seen on the shelves at TRU.
IgnikaMarcus
All that says is that he's gonna sell them on his store.
The only online exclusives I've seen in the Generations line at this point are Platinum Edition figures (they always have been) and Quickslinger and Break-Neck, and we were told those were online only at their reveal.

Dude runs a somewhat large toy website in the US:
Dorksidetoys
His source of info is likely Hasbro themselves.

From a distance, I was wondering why there was a photo of Bombshell

Watch this set gets discontinued, and then only legends remain until an ebay auction selling the set happens 20 years from now
marvel b
how did i bypass this topic?!?!?!
they look amazing, i'm even considering not repurposing them into other characters now!!!!!
QQ….i know of g2 menasor, bruticus, superion and defensor's color schemes, but what would be the technobots?
IgnikaMarcus
Really? How exactly is that?
What's your source of info?
In what report was it said these would be online only exclusives?
Once again, Hasbro hasn't said anything about these being exclusives of any sort, so at this point your certainty has no basis.
Afterburner
What you see on shelves is a mix of what Hasbro chooses to produce and what the retailers are interested in. But the product maker always has more control, because they offer the product first, even if it is only in concept. We know how long the development on these figures can take, so they make a lot of decisions hoping or assuming there will be both retailer and consumer interest. Also, keep in mind Hasbro will naturally always want to produce more than the retailers are interested in. This is why you see a lot of watered down product for the sake of product. It's just extra dollars to Hasbro, nothing more, and often times the retailers can't tell the difference. This is where the caring gets lost, likely among an understaffed and underpaid team.
These sets though have real effort put into them, but the Superion set is miles better than the Menasor set, which takes many more liberties from the source. The Superion set is virtually a perfect update. The Menasor set really messes up Drag Strip in particular, but most have the right colors but not quite in the right places. And they are all missing their decal designs, which the Aerialbots all have. It wouldn't appear they were colored by the same people, but logically it would make sense they were. So hard to say what happened, but my hope is that whoever did Superion, or whatever inspired him, becomes the standard moving forward. No trickery, no games, no corners cut. Labeled G2 Superion and he is a new G2 Superion. It sounds so simple, but it's so rare from Hasbro.
Dorksidetoys
I'm the one who said it's an online only for the U.S. and yes I'm 100% certain about that.
Autobot Burnout
This is far from a bad thing. Lots of people probably would want a discounted CW G2 Menasor far more than a G2 FOC Bruticus.
IgnikaMarcus
Apologies if it came off like that.
I'm just tired of seeing others post about these sets and act like they're 100% sure they'll be online exclusive.
We're normally told if figures are exclusive or not when they're officially revealed.
Lord Black Cat
You don't have to be a complete asshole. You could try having people skills.
We were told it "would be available through many retailers" and that was it. We assumed that meant online like the other Combiner Wars oddities as we got similar language.
And that's why I put a question mark in my original statement.
IgnikaMarcus
No, we were not.
I don't know where you people keeping pulling this shit from, but I've looked at nearly every piece of news regarding the G2 sets, and there is NOTHING saying that they are exclusive to online retailers.
siccoyote
I'm not sure how much this will retail for but I would probably pay $27,000 for it.
Though it'll probably go into clearance like G2 Bruticus did.
Autovolt 127
Yeah it's a shame. it does look really boring.
another shame too.
