Here is something cool which we can report. Legacy Recordings have announced a series of Black Friday special edition records – yes, records, on good old vinyl. One of those records is a 2LP set of the Transformers the Movie soundtrack. This set is being hailed as a special 30th anniversary edition for Transformers the Movie, and has some seriously cool features. The two LPs are cast in translucent red and translucent purple vinyl, with the Autobot logo being etched on the set’s side A, and the Decepticon logo being etched on side D. The packaging is described as a unique gatefold packaging, which can “transform” from the Autobot logo to the Decepticon logo. It sounds like some serious pride and work has gone into this set, making it a great collectible for vinyl fans and Transformers fans alike.

Got mine in today. It is a thing of beauty. I don't think pictures would pick up the details in the covers or the cool swirls in the Decepticon disc. Plus it sounds great!

Got my copy at the local shop Saturday. The owner and assistant cracked up because assistant begged the owner to order one and she doubted anyone would buy it. It's a super sweet record.

My local shop ordered me a copy and I picked it up today- really awesome! They also ordered 2 extras, which I can grab if anyone wants. Price is $40.99 + tax and shipping. This is the store's retail price, I do not charge extra.
Fast_Draw
I was able to stroll in today and grab the last copy at my local store.

Didn't really talk to anyone when I went. But overall everyone seemed to relatively calm and helped each other.

Did the same, and met some pretty cool people. Discovered they also server some fantastic dark black coffee.

I guess you don't need pics now
However, I will do so tomorrow and post…long day…
Totally worth the price (@$40) the remastered sound is pretty tight.

I guess this will prompt me to finally buy a turntable… Just picked this up today, and ended up buying 3 other albums on vinyl too. Oy!

Good to hear. I was able to grab one, there was a second but there was rule about 1 per customer. I can appreciate trying to keep it fair.
chrizgrv
Thanks I got one for $40. You made my day.

Just an FYI some people are selling it on eBay for 50 bucks. Some are asking $100.

Pics would be cool.

Only one store had it in Memphis and I missed it apparently. I did pick up some other releases though.

Got mine! I love the coloured sigil marked vinyl and outer jacket but I would have preferred artwork from the movie on the inner jacket instead of Generations artwork. It looks cool but I'm still calling the inner artwork a miss, it should have been actual movie art, not whatever they pulled out of the art folder.
And where's Rodimus' left arm?

Whoa, I need this! Is there any way to get this online?

Because Rock is the shit and Vinyl is also the shit. Records and 100% pure analog sound with no hiss, no distortions, no sterile digital sound. Digital sucks ass, it's barren and void of true warmth. Screw MP3 and CD. Just sucks ass that modern LPs are pointless as most new albums are recorded using digital source, but, there is still something there because they are still analog and being such while digital is like Hospital sterile, the LP can add a tad of the warmth back, something a CD or file is not capable of doing.
Not only that…Records were not invented to fucking scratch or mix, they were invented to listen to and enjoy…that is why.

SCORE!!!! Just picked one up…the ONLY one at my local shop.
…also came across a used never opened Tool Undertow LP that was just being placed out on the shelf so double bonus!
If anyone is interested I'll take some pics at home…your damn right I'm going to play this b*tch tonight.

I'm more than old enough and quite aware of what a vinyl actually is, but thank you for catching the error and clarifying. I meant to write packaging, but wrote vinyl instead for some reason.

The packaging transforms. Vinyl is the material the disc is made of, which is normally referred to as a "vinyl record."
