It seems that the UK once again has its own ongoing Transformers comic! Since 2007, there has been a comic in the UK to accompany whatever the current version of Transformers in the mass-market is, until the UK run by Titan ended with the close of last year’s Transformers: Age of Extinction comic.
Today, however, a new UK Transformers comic has arrived on the scene. This new one follows the current Robots in Disguise series. It reprints the issue #0 Free Comic Book day issue of IDW’s Robots in Disguise series, along with including some all-new comic content (featuring Springload). There’s also a free Bumblebee disc-shooter on the cover, and a selection of puzzles and the like within – all standard fare for UK comics of this type.
The next issue is due out in November, so it looks like at least for the initial period, this is going to be a monthly comic (although, previous UK comics started out monthly too then slid to less frequent publication over time, so it will be interesting to see if history repeats itself).
A big thanks to TFW2005 member Gingerchris for the report, and images.

Thanks for the pic. He does look pretty good.

Here is a picture of the Fixit toy. Doesn't transform but otherwise a nice little toy of him.

Photos of the toy from one of my friends.

Can you post some pics of the toy, please?
Oddly while we have the MLP FiM Magazine, this one never showed up in Hungary.
TFtoycollector
Any one able to post some pics of the Fixit toy? I'm thinking about picking up the comic if I can find it, but i'd like to see what he looks like first.
Arvegtor
I also liked that Fixit. Can't wait to see what's next. Probably Drift or Windblade, since they're currently focused on Autobots, maybe Jazz or even Ratchet, but I hope they would do Decepticons eventually.
We also still have "A New Mission" being printed in the magazines (still have 30 pages of it left for 2 next magazines), and not whatever episode adaptations are in the UK version.
rodster6
Latest issue actually had a really nice Fixit toy included. Better free gifts with this series than the Titan disk launchers.

Seems they are printing screen caps of the cartoon episodes now as their comic strip like the Titan Transformers Animated comic did.

The last issue of IDW was published in the UK comic just recently, and ended with a "join us next month for more adventures", so we'll see.

With the cartoon now at and end in the UK and I guess the toy line soon to follow, I can't imagine the comic will last much longer once they have used up the IDW strips.
Arvegtor
Our last magazine had the beginning of "A New Mission" (and we finally got "Look Before You Leap" an issue before), so that's probably what the UK magazine will also get.

Got back issues of 1-5 from the publishers today. Stuffed in a jiffy bag but I'm not too precious about these comics and only collect them for completist sake so wasn't too bothered. The Grimlock toy with issue 5 was actually quite good for what it is.
Haywired
That's actually quite interesting.
It's an independent publisher who's doing a book published by Egmont elsewhere. Either they snatched the license from Hasbro before Egmont, or Egmont Ltd wasn't interested in publishing it for UK.
rodster6
Signature Publishing have offices in Surrey where I assume they are printing the comic from Haywired.
GirlBot
Yup. I can confirm that. So far the three I have are prints of IDW Robots in Disguise comic. The magazine has 32 pages (20 pages of comic) plus some riddles and a poster. They give you codes to RiD mobile app and figures (Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Grimlock). The next one with Sideswipe should be on shelves this month.
In the first issue they translated Strongarm with 'he' pronounces. I love when people with zero knowledge of source material translate stuff Still it does not beat how in the dubbed version of Transformers Prime they used "the blood of unicorn" instead of "the blood of Unicron". I couldn't watch it after that.
Haywired
It's an Egmont reprint of the IDW content, separated into smaller chunks and sold with gadgets.
It was in Poland and probably Germany since the last year.
Not sure if Egmont has their own printing in UK, or they're outsourcing it to a subsidiary.
Time will show what they're gonna print once they're out of the IDW NuRID. Egmont's a company that actually sticks with their magazines for longer. They also publish Disney magazines.
But it sells. I rarely see these "newstand-warming".
On the other hand they're seriously shortpacked. Like two or three per newsstand with Disney magazines being shipped twice as many, they come with nicer looking toys, so… They disappear fast.
Quite possibly this kind of a kids magazine should've been how NuRID comic book should start in the first place.
Here we are at (I think?) third issue, this one has some kind of Grimlock dino mode figurine.

I only just learned of this. Nice to see another Transformers comic in the UK and hopefully it will be treated better than the Titan one. Is it still going? I had a look in W.H Smiths and Sainsbury today but it wasn't in either. Will try Tesco, Mace and Londis tomorrow.
Would love to get issue 1 but there are none on E-bay.
BB Shockwave
Nice, hope this makes it to the rest of Europe too. Could you scan the comic perhaps? I dunno why, but none of the UK Animated or Movie comics are scanned, when getting them otherwise is hard…
If you cannot post scans here, just post them on other forums. Allspark seems to be cool about it, given how they themselves post the scans of the translated Japanese strips, for example.
