During NYCC this past week, Anthony Brucale of TFU.info had the opportunity to sit down with a handful of folks from the Hasbro Design and Marketing team to discuss some Transformers. Posted on TFU.info is the entire interview, one portion to highlight here is that of the recently discovered Combiner Wars Demolisher prototype. Here’s the information regarding that from John Warden – Product Design Manager:
Oh, Demolishor. I have mentioned this at other conventions and at other times when I spoke to you guys… not you specifically [laughs]. But when we work with Takara on these things we always design a redeco head into it. With the case of Onslaught, Demolishor was built into the mold with the thinking that if we were ever to reuse or repurpose that tool, we could put out a Demolishor in the future. Currently there are no plans for Demolishor in the line but we appreciate all of the Demolishor and Armada love online.
So, for now at least, there seems to be no plans for the Armada Demolishor. We know how quickly plans can change though!

I was literally about to post the same exact thing. Who even does this on other forums?

No need to use a thread from years ago. You can start a new one on the General Discussion section.

WHY??
Sir Soundwave
I wish they made a whole new line of new Unicron trilogy figures.

These comments sum up why I'm glad with this not necessarily happening. It was a terrible fit and he really deserves his own mold. Though as usual I still feel like Darkmount/Straxus/Skullgrin would make a great Demolisher and if they made that retool I'd be quite satisfied.
I hope not. I liked the use of the skull Optimus head for Magnus but the alternate head on Treadshot in 2012 was an absolutely stupid decision; Aramada Sideswipe's head was already shaped like Jazz's head (which is why his Japan name of Stepper actually sort of fit) so why they didn't just stick with the regular Jazz head is beyond me.
There's a special dark, barren place in the Allspark for people like you
Nope. Demolisher is one of my favorite designs in Armada and I don't see this similarity at all.
Darkmount/Straxus has the right chest, enough armaments to at least keep the idea, turns into a tank, and even has a worthless base mode just like Demolisher. Onslaught? Absolutely no similarity at all.

>True Collectors.
FunPub needs to use that head tooling for T-Wrecks.
It's weird how they don't ask questions like that….we probably won't get a good answer anyways…at least for now.
I'd be ok with that.

I hate most of Armada, but I'll admit I'm still interested in a Voyager Demolishor.
T-Hybrid
If you focus on just the central portion of Onslaught it kinda looks like Demolishor. Just he's now riding on a trailer.

You mean strafe? Everyone is guessing TT is going for a new blastoff. There is a high chance that new blast off will share the same structure as strafe.

Me too, the molds within the predacons could share similar transformation, not unlike the aerialbots. With slight remolding for each limb. For the Terrorcons that will be a bit different. They are so unique as toys that they can hardly share.
Oh and yes still hoping for Computron, c'mon Afterburner can be heavy remold of deluxe groove, Lightspeed can share with any of the cars. As for Afterburner any jet could do with remolding. Lastly Nosecone my very first transformer I owned. It could easily be made from Rook. Or remold Brawn heavily.

I'm still hoping the renewed trademarks for "Predacon" and "Terrorcon" are hints that beast combiners are happening.
mizuki088
Under the Hasbro Brand.
All animal limbs needed to:
-Arm and leg mode
-Ability to repaint/retool into other animal/beast type
If we can see CW Abominus, we can also see CW Predaking, CW Seacon, CW Dinoking.

I'm actually kinda relieved, because the Onslaught version of the mold doesn't fit Demolishor, who's supposed to be a sort of anti-aircraft missile battery…which Onslaught isn't. I'd rather a different mold for him, honestly.
Zenstrive
I hope CW doesn't stop… We still have lots of carbots not made into CW. Brawl only has one retail mold, we have Ironhide without Ratchet, Sunstreaker without sideswipe, and no technobots and beast combiners. But all good things must end…

GEEWUN!!!!11! TRUKK NOT MUNKY!!11one!
scrapmetaru
I know, right? All these damn false fans, with their different opinions… If we were in charge, people who say positive things about not G1 shit would be IP banned, DDOSed, and lynched, isn't that right, my friend?
Composite Ghost
See, Hasbro knows true collectors aren't interested in Armada.
Thelonicon
The head pretooling has been around since at least the start of Universe 2.0 with Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. It's been very common since RotF and Hunt for the Decepticons. Figures would keep showing up in the instructions with the alternate heads.
MartyFeeb
With all of the retools and repaints in CW already, it's DOUBTFUL that we will see Demolishor, and it's easy to understand why: mold fatigue = poor ongoing sales = cancelled line.
But the bigger picture is that these mold reuses are becoming pervasive. Was the double-head agenda always in place? Cause it seems like a new agenda with a focus on milking blood from stones!
