Rick Sellers; the voice actor for Hasbro’s Transformers Optimus Prime toys has posted an update implying that we might see Transformers: Prime Starscream returning on Transformers: Robots In Disguise.
The fate of the Decepticon Second-In-Command was open for debate at the end of Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters – Predacons Rising finale movie.
The voice actor has stated that Hasbro is working on a Talking Starscream Toy and even provided a sample of how the toy will sound like. We may even hear familiar lines such as “Decepticons Attack!!!”.
You can check out the statement and a link to the video ( on Facebook), after the jump.

“New Transformers project wrapped up! I’d received an e-mail from a Senior Designer at Hasbro Toys working on electronic Transformers toys.
They needed a character voice and original sound effects for a new toy! ” Decepticons Attack!”
The project entailed creating a character voice for a Decepticon ( A G1 bad guy. If you’re a Transformers fan, think “sniveling sycophant with delusions of glory!” Sound familiar? Rick Sellers will be voicing the character based on the original G1 voice actor.
The new talking electronic toy is based on Hasbro’s latest iteration of the TF franchise, the very popular Transformers animated series”Robots in Disguise”.The animated children’s television show airing on The Cartoon Network.
We began the new project just days ago 9-23-15 at Creekside Audio Recording Studios, working with Wes McCraw the chief engineer and owner of Creekside Audio to record, edit, and create all the audio including the voice and sound effects for the toy.
Friday 10-2-15 marked the completion of the production. All the audio files have been sent off to Hasbro! I received a brief e-mail from Hasbro “The files sound GREAT!”
Thank you Sean, Wes,Lisa, Leo and Brando
And of course Chris Latta!

I do wonder if we'll see RID15 Starscream's toy in tonight's panel?

Seeing Starscream return would be great, I hope it is true.
One of the things I had most looked forward to of RiD is seing the fallout of PRIME. I wanted to see the power vacuum that Megatron's vindication and departure would have created, how that would have played out, and if he would have returned to ensure the Decepticons stayed "no more" or if he'd had his swan song and sailed out into the stars, but that hasn't been present really.
TFW10
starscream's ghost could be showing up in season 2 as a trouble maker

not a half bad Chris Latta impression but shouldn't he be imitating Steve Blum instead?
I'd like Starscream back on RID but I highly doubt it'll happen.

Ok, here's this:

Nothing in that video indicates it is an RiD toy. I don't know where that assumption is coming from.
Shin Densetsu
I'm guessing we will see this Starscream at NYCC hence why the voice actor revealed his latest voice over job.
kaijuguy19
Wasn't he confirmed by the writers themselves that he was mauled by the Predacons at Predacons Rising? That means he's pretty much dead…Unless of course he's still at large in the afterlife which isn't too far off and he has known to find ways of being immortal in the past so who knows?

I'm really surprised a voice actor associated with a project of this kind is allowed to disclose so much prior to the toy's formal announcement. It seems totally out of step with how things like this are typically handled. I wonder if he was given the go ahead or if he simply got ahead of himself. I suppose we'll see if he pulls a Mark Ryan style comment retraction later.

More RID makes me happy. A great show with fun toys.

Voice actors: spoiling everything since forever.
I kind of hope this is a massive trolling attempt. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they've just recorded voice clips for the big Optimus Prime toy that TakaraTomy has already released (we don't know whether or not it meets US toy safety standards, so if it does, it's entirely possible that's what they're planning for release, and they're doing a Starscream too or the rest is a red herring, or some other magical explanation).
I also have to defend the RID toys a little. Sure, they're not amazing, but after buying all the Warriors (for some dumb reason), I have to say that they're much better in person than I ever expected.
They still have problems and are still overall not as good as most of the toys we've had in the past, but, you know, they're not the worst things ever.
Unless it's Steeljaw, in which case, he's second only to Airachnid. Fuck that toy.
Autoboty
Agreed. It's probably a Titan Hero (shampoo bottle bot), Hasbro doesn't give anything else electronics these days.

So we're getting a Prime repaint? It would be interesting to have Starscream in the show, unless they act like the events of Prime continue to not have happened.

A talking Starscream figure huh? All I can say is it better have a line saying Megatron has fallen and proclaiming himself the new leader… anything less is a wasted opportunity

This.
I can't imagine how hollow, light, and generally BAD the RID toy would be.
And let's be honest: voice clip? I'm betting it's some sort of 3-step monstrosity/brick. I can't imagine it's another $50 giant BB toy. I'm not sure I've seen a voice clip option on other toys in the line, though…
I'm really sad that the RID toys are so cheap feeling, cause I own the majority (Warrior class) and they just feel so flimsy (despite the generally solid designs). If the toys had more investment from Hasbro, I think they'd score higher. As it is, it's almost like even Hasbro wasn't fully into this cartoon/toyline, probably hugging the fence on whether or not they can make a successful children's cartoon – I'm betting their main focus will be on TF movies from here on out, with programs following those works more closely. All this cost cutting – did they think no one would notice they're using less material to make the toys today?
soundwaverulls
He better continue changing how his character is portrayed every half season, otherwise, it won't be a true representation of Prime Starscream.

Yay, another RID brick.
The RID15 cartoon may be a continuation of Prime, but the toyline certainly isnt.
Plainsjumper
TF: Prime Starscream was tainted with Dark Energon, not as much as Megatron but still tainted. Since Unicron is contained, there would be nowhere for Starscream's spark to go (Megatron's spark was drawn to Unicron after BB killed him) if he was indeed killed, thus…
Ghost Starscream! Heheheh
SilverOptimus
There is a good chance that he will be in the show if Starscream is in it since Steve Blum is working closely with Hasbro Studios for Transformers: Rescue Bots.

autoplay videos FTL. thought that was going to be a picture
