Third party newcomers Garatron have shown off a couple of new prototypes via Weibo. They’re joining the Third Party Combiner race with their own versions of Defensor and Predaking, except these ones do not combine, or even transform. They’re nice, bulky action figures with a slick look that is reminiscent of the animation models of the characters. Predaking in particular looks very Call of the Primitives. Check out the images attached to this post.

He looks good, better than the first pictures had me believe. I don't think this is Before and After reborn, but you never know. I like the articulated hands

I just caught this on Third-party Unlimited's Facebook page. Still no word on the price or size but I''m hoping it might be in scale with Green Giant because lord knows as much as I want Feral Rex I can't afford it right now. -.-

What are the chances of GETTING licensed figures? Low. We've had what..6 or 7 in the last decade. Plus wider character possibilities.
MegaDolrailer
Both of these designs are based on Defensor and Predaking's Studio Ox designs.

these are certainly odd pieces to be done but it's still somewhat interesting nevertheless.

If they're in scale with engineer general, I'd likely bite: love super posable tfs and love the cartoon aesthetic.
OriginalFire
The Engineer General was a decent price for what it was.

Sometimes the movie stuff looks better as an action figure

I don't have a problem with non-transforming figures as long as they are well sculpted and can pull off the most dynamic poses (something which their transforming counterparts couldn't do, depending on the figure), but I fail to see why a third party company would make them. Official licensed figures I can understand, but these?

And since 3Ps have gotten over their Predaking fetish, well…
unicronic
Well not sure what to make of these.
It seems third parties get stuck in a holding pattern where nothing except what 'those guys' did gets redone.
Skullhammer
Nice, I like action masters….

Don't remind me. Those stupid non-transforming movie toys…
OriginalFire
Nothing can beat Feral Rex
T-Hybrid
Yup. We don't need third party non-transforming figures. We've got enough of those from Hasbro as it is.

not really sold on the idea of these. in regards to Defensor for the money this will cost with shipping etc I could easily just pick up the Hasbro toys. Now I do think the anime look has its charm but its nothing I want to chase down really.

Something went terribly wrong when designing Garatron's feet.

"Legends" got me excited that we'd be getting a Legends scaled transforming Predaking…
This? Nope. Pass.

Engineer General is a fantastic toy. I'll take more figures in that style, please. They go great with Revoltechs! Hope these are in a similar scale too.

The biggest issue with these guys is are they going to feel hollow…if there is no transforming of the body or limbs there is no need for them to cast those parts out of solid plastic…kind of like what Hasbro did with titan Metroplex…
