IGN has posted a You Tube video with PlatinumGames Developer Interviews for the upcoming G1 based Transformers game; Devastation.
What was told:
- New “Challenge Mode” is included addition to the Story Mode.
- Challenge Mode will contain 50 standalone missions.
- Five Difficulty Modes from near-casual “Scout” to insanely difficult “Prime”.

I've said it before that fandoms can easily be some of the worst things to happen to an IP and this isn't any different.
Platinum Games have consistently made AMAZING character brawlers that push the genre forward in ways other games in this style haven't. If God of War was responsible for making character brawlers big, then games made by Platinum are those who continue to push successfully after God of War.
The only thing WfC/FoC has done is to spoil a fanbase that really has no idea what it wants in a game nor really knows what makes a game really good or successful. WfC was great but FoC was a huge step down, and even Transformers branded the game couldn't draw in enough people to really make it a success. If it WAS successful, then why haven't we seen a new game yet? The fact of the matter is that in the game industry, if your game isn't printing money for the publisher then it's not likely to get a follow up, and that's exactly what we saw with FoC.
I for one am thankful for the game we got. Because it's STILL a game by Platinum Games. I can't wait to get it and play it this weekend.

Metal Gear Revengeance was only a 5 hr story mode. But most players put in over 30 hrs just gathering all the powerups, secrets, etc. TF Devastation has that & more, plus the very difficult challenge modes, 5 separate characters to level up, numerous weapons to unlock, find, synthesize, etc and well theirs the Challenge mode with another 50 playable levels that will become active soon.

I know, so far this game is getting great reviews why the hell some think they can change the type of game this is meant to be from day one is beyond me. like I said above , I love the arcade feel to this its like I'm 10 years old and at my corner store popping 25c into a arcade box.

Kinda sad actual gamers on various gaming sites are praising this for how much fun and how well developed it is and yet the fickle TF fanbase are throwing out nonsense while not even having touched it.
People who cite button mashing are the only ones who are doing exactly that. Let's see you get anywhere on the higher difficulties on MG:R or Bayonetta. What's the point in putting in evade cancels and parries when ignorant people will never try anything different than x,x,x,y and moan when it's blocked.
So much hyperbole it's unreal.

Wow what can I say what a great game .. once you over look this is strictly a story based game and just have fun , the story is spot on and omg I love the arcade feel to this its like I'm 10 years old and at my corner store poping 25c into a arcade box.
YoungPrime
Aww, feel better now….?
Anyway this game looks like a something made for an iPAD or Android Tablet so bringing up other games where you mash buttons changes nothing. I don't know what's worse you're assumptions, you're entitlement or your rant over people not liking what you like.
Either way this game is a pass.

WFC and FOC were ok at best, certainly not the best Transformers game we could ever hope to get. They had potential and could have been so much better had High Moon focused more on the story and not so heavily focused on the mp as they obviously were since that was were any replay value was. I would rather have a quality story driven game where mp is not the main focus and might not even be needed if the story is long and engaging enough, something like the Batman games. It's obvious a sequel to Foc isn't going to happen High Moon is pretty much done, and if anything close to a sequel happens it is a good bet high moon is not going to be involved.

You do realize we're never getting another High Moon TF game, right? That team was let go after finishing Deadpool.
Coolalrite
Ok, so instead rationally saying your not interested in the game, you had to go and say that it looks horrible and is garbage. Tones of people are looking forward to this game and all your going to do is take your time to leave a hate comment like that. Thats just a jerk move right there. Just sayin my opinion -_-
Murasame
You sound like a teenage boy who has to play out his coolness card by finding everything negative

And we're done here.

PREORDERED!
Haters gonna hate.

Actually not really. I actually liked ROTDS.

Well, assuming this is like Bayonetta's "Angel Slayer" chapter, then it's basically going to be an arena challenge, as seen here:

This guy makes it look easy (he's getting pure platinum – maximum score, no damage). Most players attempting it just after finishing the campaign would probably be dead within a few minutes.
If you don't appreciate the combat, it's not going to be for you, but assuming you are up to the challenge, it's incredibly intense. It gets far harder than anything in the campaign.
By the time you get to the end (so I hear – not that I've got past verse 30-something or so.):
Autobot Burnout
Damn, somebody just got served!
