Via Alfes2010 on Twitter, we have a look at the Transformers Adventure Ground Vehicon General. This figure is a silver-grey version of the original Transformers Prime Vehicon, inspired by the concept of the Jet Vehicon General from the Prime Arms Micron series. For this one, Takara-Tomy has really laid on the grey plastic, giving the figure a look which some might consider bland or even resembling a prototype, rather than a finished toy. Check him out after the break to see if this Vehicon is for you.

they should have used that darker metallic paint thats on the hood. why did they even bother with that?!

It looks a little bit better here.

DUUUUUULLLLLL.
Especially compared to the previous use of the mould.

Alfes uses very flat, diffused lighting.
I got a much shinier look to my photos:

Only the vehicle mode parts got painted.

I was hoping for a bit more silver, but still – it's a Vehicon, and I'll happily add it to my collection. It reminds me more of a renegade than a 'General'. Or maybe Boba Fett.
Now then, some Jet Vehicons, please.

It's bland but it's a vehicon and I want it. Amiami still doesn't seem to ave this in stock although I already have a payment request for Legends Magnus who seems due for release around the same time.. Did anyone who POed from Ami get a payment request for their Vehicon (or Beacon as he's listed)?
Also while this thing may be bland, Takara did what Hasbro didn't and actually released this thing. So…+1 Takara?

I was hoping, after having some time to get used to this not being shiny, I would find this more tolerable but no. There's absolutely nothing breaking up the bland white. It really needed to be shiny to look good.

Yep, I'm one of the peeps that was hoping for some serious silver on this guy. The gray just looks too vanilla. The original Hasbro Vehicon is a fantastic looking figure. I would expect the General version to outshine it in every way. I've decided against getting this one. I only collect Prime figs and MP and I'd rather just save the money for something else.
Hicks_Royel
Yeah. Fuck the sticker.

That's an easy explanation: this MUST be a Hasbro toy! Look at the bland gray! That's not Takara. Come on. Look more closely. You're looking at a sh*tty Hasbro toy with a Takara sticker!
I have an idea: use all the leftover crap-bits of plastic from other toys, blend it all up, and then recast these! Flecks of random reds or blue or yellow (etc) would actually liven this bland-bot up, AND Takara saves even more money by not actually ordering more plastic! WIN WIN! #sellmecheapcrapforpremiumplease!

It's a new faction – the Blandtrons.

I wasn't expecting it to be covered in silver paint either (since it would clash with the AM Jet General), but I wonder if the early promo pics gave people hope, given the image most people have of the AM line is one devoid of paint and relying on stickers for details, while the Adventure line is your typical Takara line.

As someone who has been impatiently waiting for this to happen since he missed the HLJ/AmiAmi window, I am pleased (and have gotten my HS order in.)
Are they silver? No. Did I honestly EXPECT them to be fully coated in silver? Ahahahahahahano.
The Jet Vehicon general was not painted silver; I see no reason why they'd paint the ground Vehicon general silver as well (heck, it would clash with the jet version if they did)

There is a certain set of people that without fail bash pretty much everything hasbro puts out and puts takara on a pedestal at every turn….those persons are predictably silent here.

It's getting a lot of bashing here. But for those still after this guy, he's up on Hobby Search finally.

That thing looks like ass….I am also noticing crickets from the peanut gallery that bashes hasbro for half-ass products.

I'm sorry to say that his color is very disappointing. I was looking forward to a high-end looking silver paint like MP Silverstreak, perhaps I was expecting too much. Some promo pics gave the impression that he might even be chromed, which I would have really liked. (I am unabashedly pro-chrome, when it's done appropriately.)
The car's "picked-out" paint seems fine, but the robot-mode is soo plain. Even his face lacks definition, and not even his chest symbol is present? It sadly reminds me of the old Power Rangers Putty Men. A Vehicon General deserves a little bling.
Oh Takara, don't start Hasbro's bad habit of making non-painted blah gray figures as an economy-saving gimmick or as an artistic choice, Sheesh!
…Unless, Is it possible that it has a very slight pearl sheen to it, or is that just pearlescent plastic, it's hard to tell?

Tbh we should've seen it coming. Jet Vehicon General had similarly misleading official pics. Our pre-release amnesia hits us again!
