Thanks to site sponsor BigBadToyStore, we have some new listings as well as new information to pass along concerning the Robots In Disguise Legion class figures. Wave 4 has previously been released at retail in some select international markets, while North America has not seen wave 4 just yet. Wave 5 however has already been found, debuting Ultra Magnus and Patrol Mode Strongarm.
Thanks to this listing by BBTS, we have confirmed wave 4 contains Alpine Strike Sideswipe and Night Ops Bumblebee (while wave 5 will contain Nights Ops Bee again).
So for fans of the RID toy line, keep a lookout for a retail sighting of wave 4 that includes the Sideswipe redeco! It hopefully isn’t too far behind.
Nevermore
Oh, and Series 2 of the RID Tiny Titans was found at US retail four days before Series 1.
Nevermore
Happened a few times before, actually:
Waves 1, 2 and 3 of the Titanium Series 3" Robot Masters were found at US retail in reverse order, all within the span of a few days though.
Wave 6 of the Generations Thrilling 30 Legends (Cliffjumper/Suppresssor and Nemesis Prime/Spinister) were found at US retail before wave 5 (Gears/Eclipse and Acid Storm/Venin).
Wave 3 of the Combiner Wars Leaders (Ultra Magnus) was found at US retail before wave 2 (Thundercracker).
Matty
Interesting bit of news here. Weird that wave 5 made it out before wave 4.
Nevermore
Big Bad Toy Store and Amazon are the first online retailers based in the US to stock Robots in Disguise Legion Class wave 4 proper:
RID Legion Class wave 4 in stock at BBTS, RID Legion Class Night Ops Bumbleee & Alpine Strike Sideswipe set in stock at BBTS.
RID Legion Class Night Ops Bumbleee in stock at Amazon ("ships from and sold by Amazon.com"), RID Legion Class Alpine Strike Sideswipe in stock at Amazon ("ships from and sold by Amazon.com").
Clarification:
Wave 4 has previously been released at retail in Singapore, Taiwan, the UK and Germany.
While Legion Class wave 5, which debuts Ultra Magnus and Patrol Mode Strongarm, has already been found at US retail, wave 4 has been AWOL thus far… sorta.
According to this listing at BBTS, as well as this listing at BBCW Distributors, wave 5 contains Night Ops Bumblebee again, which would explain why BBTS has a single listing for him (but not for Alpine Strike Sideswipe), and why Night Ops Bumblebee has also been found at US retail, but Alpine Strike Sideswipe hasn't.
So just as a reminder for those who find any of these figures at US retail:
If you only see Night Ops Bumblebee (and maybe Ultra Magnus and/or Patrol Mode Strongarm), that's wave 5 and not news.
If you see Alpine Strike Sideswipe (and maybe Night Ops Bumblebee too), that's wave 4 and therefore news.
