2005 Boards Member Olivus Prime had the pleasure to talk to Mark Ryan; the voice of Jetfire and Lockdown and good friend of TFW2005, at the Wings and Wheels motor/air show in UK. The actor kindly answered few questions regarding the Transformers Live Action Movie Franchise and the upcoming Transformers Cinematic Universe.
It is stated that the filming of the next Transformers movies will begin early 2016 and the movies will follow a two-directional approach with one focusing on the Bumblebee/Cade team.
- Jetfire – Apparently he based this performance upon his friend Ray Winstone. When Winstone saw the film, he called Mark and said he owed him a beer.
- Lockdown – Mark talked about the improvisation he’s allowed to do on set, and Lockdown was a case in point of this. Before shooting, Mark was pondering how to approach the character, when he saw a Jaguar advert in his hotel room that acted as inspiration for the voice. Apparently when he then used it in the dock scene when Ratchet is killed, his voice echoed around the docks (sounding like “the voice of God”!) and everyone was in awe. His facial expressions were also a big influence upon the character, especially in the “You think you were born” scene.
- Upcoming sequels – I don’t really follow this much so I don’t know if this is new, but he said filming for TF5 ought to start next year and that the films will follow two directions now, one of which focuses upon Cade and co.
We wish Mr. Ryan all the very best for his career ahead and we look forward to meet him on the next installments of the franchise.

Even though he is unsure, most likely this will be the direction of the movie

^ Officially nominated for a news credit!
Thanks for the heads-up, hope you don't mind.
Sorry, guys…I had to tune out when you started talking about the Fast & Furious movies in too much detail. I've only seen the 1st and 5th (because the TF:DotM trailer was attached, w00t) and I enjoyed them both so I'm still looking forward to watching ALL of them someday and didn't want any more spoilers than I already have, that's all.
However, if you could enumerate your issues with TF:AoE in a F&F spoiler-free post perhaps I could address them?
In the meantime, I'll work with what's quoted above.
Attinger was blasted by Optimus. Optimus said he'd kill whoever was responsible for Ratchet's death, and he between Attinger and Lockdown he certainly got his man. Sounds like a pretty good conclusion to me!
And as far as Tucci's Joshua Joyce is concerned, I guess I don't really see the problem? He wanted control over his product, realized he didn't have it, finally understood why, and abandoned that shit. Hell, he even managed to swindle the Seed into his possession anyway so it's not like he didn't get what he REALLY wanted anyway, lol. I mean, that all played out differently in the end, of course, but it still goes a long way towards explaining the "ease" of his transition.
The guy was rich as hell anyway. He wanted the credit for his innovations, not the money. I feel like his character's ego outweighed his greed.
Furthermore, it wasn't exactly a "sudden discovery of conscience."
He had to be browbeat into testing Galvatron anywhere NEAR civilians, remember? Plus, his plan was always to detonate the Seed in the desert to minimize human casualties anyway. Not wanting to eradicate the population of Hong Kong and/or cause the extinction of the human race is HARDLY much of a leap from there, lol.
Sooo…what else you got?

Taking this with a huge grain of salt.

Thank you for the advice I'll remember that.
As for Autobot burnout and Dark seeker was it Darkseeker gave me proof I'll give mine you want a fair breakdown I will give you a fair breakdown long long comment ahead warning the follow summary will spoil pretty much everything about Furious 7.
The movie opens with Deckard Shaw talking with his brother Owen who is now in a vegetative state he vows revenge on the people who did this he then leaves the hospital killing all the surrounding security guards before doing so.
Torrito meanwhile is trying to help Leti regain her memory of him by having her in a drag race like she always used to do which she wins, during the race she experiences flashes but still can't fully remember everything but Torrito isn't giving up on her or what they had.
Brian has begun a normal with Mia and their son but is having trouble adjusting to it still wanting the thrill he used to have. Mia meanwhile is pregnant with another child fearing Brian's lack of adjustment to normal life.
Deckard sneaks into Hobbs office where he engages him in a fight the fight ends with Deckard throwing a grenade at Hobbs who uses his self to shield his partner Elena badly injuring him in the process.
Toritto and the rest of the family are all gathering at their home where Toritto discovers Mia pregnancy and tells her to tell Brian before they can they receive a package from Han it is revealed it is actually from Shaw who kills Han and contacts Toritto just as the package is revealed to be a bomb destroying the torrito house.
Toritto meets with Hobbs who tells him who Deckard is as well as the fact that he's a former special ops who was abandoned by the government resulting in him becoming a mercenary Toritto vows revenge for Han's murder he then travels to Tokyo to retrieve Han's body but not before facing Sean in a street race.
Toritto and everyone meet for Han's funeral they all mourn their friend when Toritto spots Deckard watching them and chases across the city engaging him in a game of chicken however Deckard brought a gun and prepares to kill Torrito when he is saved by a special squadron led by someone called Mr. Nobody.
Mr. Nobody makes Toritto and his team an offer retrieve something called the gods eye which can track anyone anywhere on the planet in exchange they will use it to find Shaw. Brian decides to join the mission wanting to avenge his friend Han while vowing to Mia he will be back.
The whole team joins Torrito for the mission Mr. Nobody tells them there mission is to rescue someone called Ramsey from a mercenary and terrorist called Jaknade realizing they can't sneak on the convoy using the road they instead decide to drop from the sky.
The team drop their cars from a large plane and parachute in moving in behind the covoy Jaknade detects them and sends his forces after them. Brian makes his way into the convoy and finds Ramsey who he is shocked to see is a girl after fighting with Jaknade's right hand man Brian manages to rescue her before the convoy is sent over the cliff.
Toritto meanwhile is attacked by Shaw tracked them engaging in a speed chase with him during this Toritto is cornered by Jaknade and his men and drives off the side of the cliff rolling down the hill to escape.
Toritto and the rest find out Ramsey does not have the gods eye but rather sold it to a partner Abu Dhabi which he had built into his car on the top floor.
They arrive and issue a distraction to allow Toritto and Brian to get to the car but the security system is set off forcing them to try and steal the car in general while Leti faces off against the security during all this chaos Shaw arrives once more and open fires on them Torrito and Brian manage to extract the gods eye and jump from the car which crashes through multiple buildings before plunging to the ground and being destroyed.
Toritto and the team meet up with Mr. Nobody and give him the gods eye which Ramsey activates as promised they use it to track Shaw to an abandoned factory. Shaw is shown to be waiting for them where he reveals he has formed an alliance with Jaknade they engage in a fire fight that ends with Mr. Nobody be mortally wounded and Jaknade getting the gods eye. Mr. Nobody dies from his wounds.
Realizing that Jaknade and Shaw will coming for them soon Toritto and his team scramble to get Ramsey to safety while Brian speaks to Mia who reveals her pregnancy to him he promises to begin a new life with his family when this over.
Jaknade uses the gods eye to find both Ramsey and Toritto and his team they use Ramsey to hack into it resulting in Jaknade sending a drone ship to kill Ramsey which pursues them across the city. Brian is confronted by Jaknade's right hand who he faces off against in a fight that ends with Brian sending him down an elevator shaft. The drone strike continues trying to kill Ramsey firing on them in the middle of the streets to escape from it they switch Ramsey back and forth from car to car. Hobbs is watching this on the new and leaves to aid them. Toritto is confronted by Shaw who face each other in another game of chicken Toritto then corners him at gun point before throwing it aside deciding to face him man to man. Hobbs manages to crush the drone ship by hijacking an Ice Cream truck and crashing it on top of it resulting in Jaknade firing on them from a helicopter which hobbs matches by returning fire with drones mini gun. Torrito and Shaw face off in a final showdown which has Toritto take the upper hand when Jaknade has his helicopter fire on them which begins to collapse the building which Shaw is sent plummeting in. Hobbs manages to begin shooting down their helicopter. Torrito grabs Shaws bag full of grenades and throws it at the helicopter when he drives his car off the collapsing building toward it he misses and is sent plummeting to the ground but the grenades reach the helicopter blowing it up and killing Jaknade. Leti approaches Hobbs who appears to be dead and begs him not leave her this triggers her memory finally restoring it which pleases Toritto who survived.
Shaw is taken into Custody by Hobbs while Brian decides to permanently retire from the family to begin a life with Mia and his family who is he spending time with on the beach both Toritto and Leti decide this is for the best. Toritto decides to leave without saying anything but Brian catches up with him at a stop sign they both remember all the times they had together before both go their separate ways.
Well I think that summarize it well and no I didn't really look up anything I did remember all of this I just didn't really care but I think I have proven that I did pay attention to the movie don't you this is more detailed then the wikipedia summary.
Okay now for my preferred movie this will probably help explain why prefer what I do maybe not but I do think there will be a fair differences that may give a little insight on my choice the following mini novel will spoil every single thing about Age of Extinction.
The plot opens five years after chicago unbeknownst to the government a CIA unit lead by a man called Harold Attinger and a Cybertronian Bounty hunter named Lockdown has begun ruthlessly hunting down the autobots this force manages to find ratchet who despite pleading for his life is ruthlessly gunned down Lockdown then questions him on Optimus location which he refuses resulting in Lockdown killing him.
Meanwhile an inventor named Cade Yaeger while on the look for materials to make money off of comes across a broken down truck which he brings back an act his daughter Tessa disagrees with Cade is revealed to have a strained relationship with Tessa due to being overprotective and not wanting her to date for fear it will cause her to drop out unknown to him she does have a secret boyfriend.
While examining the damages to the truck Cade realizes it's not a truck but rather a transformer from the battle of Chicago while working on it he accidently reactivates it revealing it to be the autobot leader Optimus Prime who was ambushed by Lockdown and the humans resulting in his injured state Cade helps repair Optimus's injuries while Lucas his partner fearing the alien and seeking to solve their financial problems calls the authorities which Attinger receives sending both Lockdown and Cemetry wind.
Cemetery wind arrives and interrogates the yaegers threatening to kill Tessa if Cade doesn't reveal where Optimus is.
Optimus emerges to save them while Tessa's boyfriend Shane also arrives to rescue them Cade manages to retrieve a piece of their technology during this. They engage in a chase with the CIA while Optimus battles Lockdown in the end Lucas is killed in a blast and the others escape in Optimus.
Cade and the rest become fugitives to the government forcing them into hiding. Optimus and the humans reunite with the remaining Autobots. Cade hacks into the tech revealing footage of other Autobot murders as well as the fact that the murdered Autobots are handed off to a company called KSI Optimus swears revenge on the human responsible.
KSI headed by Joshua Joyce is revealed to have discovered a metal that may of been linked to the dinosaurs extinction using this metal they are now beginning to build their own man made transformers including their priced creation Galvatron a prototype created through the studying of Megatrons head which Brains translates the data retrieved despite their best efforts to build an Optimus replica it keeps looking like Megatron. It is also revealed that Joshua and Attinger are in an alliance and have a struck a deal with Lockdown they will give him Optimus in exchange for an artifact called the seed.
The Autobots sent Cade to infiltrate KSI where he discovers Ratchet being melted down resulting in the Autobots storming KSI in rage and rescue Brains. Optimus confronts Joshua who tells him the Autobots aren't needed anymore resulting in Optimus leaving in tranquil fury.
Attinger orders Joshua to deploy Galvatron and Stinger to pursue them Stinger works well but Galvatron proves difficult to control engaging Optimus and even speaking during the battle Optimus is shot by Lockdown who tells him his creators sent him he then takes him Tessa is kidnapped in the process.
Lockdown imprisons Optimus aboard his ship alongside the other legendary knights of Cybertron which Optimus is a part of Lockdown than gives the humans the seed while Cade, Shane and the Autobots board his ship. Aboard the ship Cade finds a sword like gun while the Autobots find Prime. Tessa escapes and reunites with Cade the three of them then get off the ship with Bumblebee's aid before being rescued by Crosshairs they then engage in a sky chase taking out their pursuers. Optimus and the other autobots detach from Lockdown's ship as he departs taking the imprisoned knights with them.
Optimus prepares to depart the earth and abandon humanity to their fate when Brains tells them Galvatron is Megaton and has manipulating the humans to build him a new body as well as deliver the seed which he will detonate in the largest city and build a new army it is also revealed that the creators used the seeds to cause the dinosaur extinction which Galvatron seeks to recreate. Cade warns Joshua of Galvatron's sentience who has been moved to China. Joshua attempts to back out of his deal with Attinger but Attinger refuses believing he deserves wealth for all his years of service. Galvatron comes online and brings the other man made transformers under his control sending them to retrieve the seed. Joshua flees from the factory to Hong Kong and is pursued by both Attinger and Galvatron. Optimus meanwhile questions his faith in humans which Cade urges him to keep for who they can be.
Joshua flees from the CIA while Galvatron and his forces arrive Cade and the autobots arrive but are shot down by Stinger causing the ship to crash far away. Determined to silence Cade Attinger orders Savoy to kill everyone Cade and Savoy face off resulting in Savoy falling to his death. Bumblebee and Hound face off against Galvatron's forces but find themselves being overwhelmed. Optimus frees the Knights from the ship knighting himself in the process he battles the leader of the knights who transforms into a massive dinosaur ultimately taming and subduing him before leading them to the charge Hound and Bumblebee are about to fall when Optimus and the dinobots arrive annihilating Galvatron's forces and causing him to retreat. Lockdown returns to claim his bounty using a super magnet to tear apart Hong Kong and recapture all the knights Prime manages to destroy the magnet before going to engage Lockdown himself. Cade refuses to leave him and asks Tessa to leave demanding Shane keep her safe before going to aid Prime. Tessa refuses to leave her dad and goes back to aid him. Optimus and Lockdown face off in a final showdown which Optimus seems to get the upper hand in until Attinger corners Cade and prepares to kill him before he can he is killed by Optimus who Lockdown then pins to the wall Cade rushes to Optimus's aid while Tessa and Shane arrive. Cade distracts Lockdown while Tessa and shane remove the sword from Optimus who finishes off Lockdown.
Optimus releases the dinobots into the wild. Realizing that the earth will not be safe so long as his creators seek him out Optimus takes the seed and bids farewell to his friends his faith restored Optimus then leaves Earth declaring to his creators that he's coming for them.
That summarizes Age I know it proves and states nothing but maybe reading both might explain my perspective.
Livingdeaddan
No Lord Tron, the person doing the offending might absolutely be offensive. But you're own personal offense is not always the best way to evaluate it.
Lord Tron
None of us ever expected Lockdown would be a central villain either you never know.
I suppose you have a point there but it is possible Marvels just going and going and going true they have multiple trilogies but I don't see Paramount letting the cinematic universe end only four years top after it's first movie was released.
Why see something you don't truly like why watch something you have to convince yourself you enjoyed where's the enjoyment in that I don't have to convince myself these movies are good I believe they are no matter how many say otherwise I can say with pride and certainty that these are my favorite movies with no regrets. Not an insult to you it's just you shouldn't watch something you feel guilty for liking or you should not care.
Find another form of enjoyment that you feel proud to be a fan of don't force yourself to watch something you can't be excited for that's no way to enjoy something.
I'm really hoping TF 5 is different not for myself I'm perfectly satisfied with how they are but so other people who go in with low expectations can be surprised and maybe truly enjoy one of these again, hope five can change your perspective and make excited for the future of the movies once more.
Lord Tron
(Directed to Autobot Burnout and possibly others) You don't get it how could you, you don't know how I think I'm an emotional and rather empathic person I kind of take on the emotional atomesphere of whatever I am doing since things are so negative here I take on a negative side almost or not to me it seemed the same what's the difference between almost and not how much of one is there by saying someone almost is insulting someones memory by just liking something else you're all but stating they eventually will because if that's almost what's actually insulting you see this sounds stupid I know but it's how I think this is why people need to really consider what they are going to say you don't know who you're talking to you don't know how they think how they will react.
I apologize if i was being rude but I was just stating what I saw more so my whole thing was never actually about a comparisons that wasn't my intention my intention was proving an absurd statement false which I attempted to by listing all the character arcs and story and plot points.
You don't know me so you don't understand how much the idea of someone telling me I was almost insulting someones memory gets to me the fact that I found Optimus better just means I did nothing more nothing more less and there's nothing insulting about it if Wahlberg tragically died and you still didn't like Age would it be insulting to Mark's memory of course not.
People take things differently most people think this is my opinion I don't care what other people think but some people are more uncertain if someone says you're opinion is stupid and you are stupid for thinking it they might actually believe it and start to see themselves as stupid do any of you really want that? just think about what you are going to say about someone before you actually say it.

Oh I assure you I didn't miss many details about AOE despite my inexplicable urge to take a massive pee (thank you large coke and popcorn). I only focused my critical posts about AOE to the ones that I thought mattered to me the most. And those were the main points that I thought ruined it for me. I didn't get into a whole long post about it because those other details about the film that I didn't care for were dwarfed by the other ones I've pointed out.
But if I must bring up some things to show I did see more of the movie than what I posted, here, I'll bring up Attinger. His character was passable for me. A douchebag goverment employee bent over by his own greed. I get it. He was a malicious prick. I would have loved to see him go out in a better way befitting the karmic reaction due from his evil deeds. But whatever. He got blasted by Optimus. Tucci's character. What a load of cheese. Poorly written, and somewhat cheesily executed. I can't believe someone would just throw away years of "greed" in a matter of minutes over a sudden discovery of conscience. One would think there'd be more of an internal struggle. But it appeared it was turned off like a light switch. Lame. There. I could go into what I thought about the action sequences if that would satisfy any curiosity of whether or not I paid attention to the movie. But that would be a very long post, and I need to go to bed. I gotta work in the morning.
daniel 97
So, like RID 2015?
Also, who thought Dinobots might not return!
Autobot Burnout
Dude, I said almost insulting. Next time you want to blow a fuse over words on the internet, make sure the person you claim is accusing you of something is actually accusing you of something.
Lord Tron
Okay I'm trying to calm down the truth is you make a point you should be able to comment however you like and you're statements about the film are probably true but I just don't see it sorry also what I meant by more balanced is it's more spread out the texas chase happens you have another half hour before the chicago one you then have another fifteen minutes before the next big action scene happens then another about twenty minutes each action scene is well spaced out while I felt Furious 7 the rescue was almost immediately followed by the infilitration which was then shortly followed by the shoot out and that was followed by the final battle one after another the climax was probably a half hour nothing wrong with that the shoot out was five minutes the infiltration 10 the rescue probably 15 that's close to an hour straight of action I just felt that should've been more evenly spaced out or even cut one of them all together. That's what I meant by balanced more spaced out and evenly divided across the film.
I have seen the other films but not many times and not for a while in truth I liked the sixth more than the seventh specifically because it was more spaced out and divided not becoming all out action until the last third which is normal for action movies for me.
I also felt Brian had more dialog and involvement with his family Torrito had more involvement with Leta I think sorry I don't remember all the character's names their story was more involved with her being a enemy he had to convince once knew him the drag race had a surprising emotional punch for me.
Owen Shaw was a good effective villain the stand off between him and Torrito after the race had quite a bit of tension and the scene where he's flattening everything with the tank is well executed especially how blood thirsty he comes off he also comes off smarter and more cunning than both villains in 7. Leta's arc is good too growing attached to Torrito realizing Shaw is a monster and finally turning on him.
Owen Shaw also had more plot purpose than Deckard to me Deckard chased Torrito and his team it was what he did. Owen was stealing weapons and pretty much filled the same type of role Juknade did in fact he fulfilled the role of both villains and in my opinion did both better.
The climax I felt was better as well Brian's family is taken by Shaw forcing him to have to rescue while also realizing the danger he puts them in in the end they succeed and defeat shaw the climax in my opinion was more creative with the cars hanging from the plane over the top to be sure but creative.
Finally the ending the movie ends with Brian retiring basically the same as 7 so why not just take the ending of 7, have Shaw kill Han in the beginning they were interfering with his business, as well as the the end of Leta's arc in 7 and merge it with the sixth movie because I feel on the whole the sixth movie is the better final installment.
As you can see I did pay attention it's just the story of the 7th doesn't intrigue me the idea behind the eye is dangerous and why a terrorist would want it is obvious same with a mercenary I had an idea how Deckard was tracking them but the partnership is never really focused on so I don't really care for it neither of the villains come off very interesting to me in comparison to Owen Shaw who did everything both villains did but did it better.
I've noticed that both sides will ignore facts it's obvious you and Autobot Burnout missed just as many details in Age as I did Furious 7 because like me you don't care about them and feel no need to bring them up it's just how things work on both sides I guess so there's my knowledge of The Fast series I could put more but I really don't want to because I don't have the same passion for it that i do the transformer franchise.
I have a question to the picture above are you saying the person who offended is right that's not a good message because like I said I was mad for a different reason but never mind no point to dwell on it.
Livingdeaddan
I'm not getting at anyone in particular, but i think Ricky Gervais made good point when he said:
Let's just be calm and stop taking things to heart! Let's be honest it's generally pretty soft going around here!
Dark Skull
You're offended? I get that. But that's between you and him. You need to take that up with him in PM if it really needs to be. I have nothing to do with it. All I wanted to do was respond to a few points I disagreed with wholeheartedly because it seemed as if you missed a few things in watching that movie (but apparently…I'm not allowed to do that because someone else pissed you off? Ok…whatever). Which is ok. Oftentimes, I've had to rewatch something (even AOE) just to make sure I didn't miss anything or if there would be something I would like better, or….whatever.
As far as making people feel unwelcome here, I don't know if you've personally lurked here or not before you actually registered….I know I have for quite a bit, but there's always heated discussion here because of the good ol meme of "how dare you like what I don't like!" or vice versa, "how dare you not like what I like!?!?" (I don't know if you ever saw my joke custom, but it was mainly done to poke fun at that whole phenomenon). And then there's those like dotmshockwave mentioned in another thread that just talk out of their asses. All the damned time. They post nothing but verbal diarrhea every single time. And that gets tiresome real quick. Not to confuse that with being verbose. I don't mind reading very well written and thought out posts. But a lot of the times, that just isn't the case. There's blind loyalty on both sides of the fence and it really makes it difficult to have a real decent conversation. I'm sure if you take a look at all my posts, I rarely post in here because of it.
Lately, I've noticed a lot of comparison of this that and the other. I don't really care to do it because in my mind, I separate things. Marvel is Marvel. DC is DC. TFs are TFs. I try not to comingle them when I try my best to enjoy each franchise. Watching people compare things incessantly is almost like watching people compare their own e-peens that they never had. Ah well…that's just my opinion.
SilverOptimus
What that Christian Post has done is they took our article added some speculations and media sites took it as news. True, 20% of what Mark Ryan said and the rest of the 80% is speculation from CP:
Mark Ryan Discusses His Movie Characters And The Upcoming Transformers Cinematic Universe – Transformer World 2005 – TFW2005.COM
Lord Tron
I don't care about this comparison any more it was never even meant to be that just got lost in it I don't care about any of this anymore I would much rather just drop the conversation which you obviously didn't read at the end.
So I'll make this as straightforward as I can first you people really need to get your priorities straight on this forum. I don't give a crap about this debate anymore instead I'm just pissed off at the idea that someone accused of me of insulting another person's memory I'm also highly pissed that the following comment feels the movie comparison is more important to respond to then a comment that clearly showed someone was offended.
You want me to be blunt alright I'll be blunt Autobot Burnout's comment greatly offended me far more than any insult to my intelligence ever could I am also disgusted that few people seem to care they'd rather continuing disapproving a statement. Also thanks for the compassion, someone all but states they don't have many friends which might explain some of their hostility and no response to that either, nice.
So why would such a comment offend who knows no reason to state it but in all honesty I have a question to ask most of you how could a comment that accuses someone of insulting another persons memory not be seen as offensive do you really hold movies to higher degree than that. Do you not see what the F is wrong with this picture.
The idea that people can so easily brush off something and not care nor understand why others just might only makes it worse. It doesn't help that people go out of their way to make this forum is very unpleasant for movie fans how could a movie fan feel actually welcomed here I know I don't and I bet many others feel the same even worse this is the only forum on here that is like this how can some people take pride in making this forum so unpleasant I know many of you if not most of you are good hearted and nice people why can't you act like it here.
I'm not debating anymore I don't care about the outcome of that nor do I have any desire to continue with someone who would say that without even considering if that might sound a little offensive I'm also not interested in debating with someone who would gloss over a member who was clearly offended by something.
Dotmshockwave
First off, we will definitely NOT be getting a third trilogy. Once the most of the writer's teams movies are finished that will most likely be the end of the "Bayformers" series. It would be unrealistic for them to make a third trilogy. Yeah they are doing spin offs but that isn't another trilogy itself. They will most likely reboot when most of the writer's rooms scripts have been made movies and then reboot after a couple years.
Secondly, of all the villains you just mentioned, only really Leige Maximo and Nemesis Prime would be main villain worthy, and Nemesis Prime would probably just be controlled by a "higher power" whoever that may be. All the other characters on your list besides Unicron and the Quints (as I had already mentioned) are more likely to be lower tier villains like a starscream. And if you seriously just want Unicron to be in the movies for just TWO lines of dialogue and then have bay blow him up easily is literally maybe even worse treatment then the Fallen. Why would we want that crap?
As I mentioned earlier, we wont be getting more movies for this version of Transformers after the writers room thing. And no, the cinematic universe will not have just gotten off the ground. By the end of this next trilogy (transformers 6 will likely be two parts) including the spin offs we are looking at a 9 MOVIE SERIES! If they do not end it by the 9th movie they are seriously insane. Transformers does not have enough lore to support more then 10 movies in 1 series. And why would you drag it on that long? Even star wars will likely take a bit of a movie break after episode 9 (which will only be about 11 episodes in total including the spin offs).
I will never drop the movies, you clearly do not know me well. Even if they made Transformers 20 I'd still go and see it. These things where part of my growing up, I will never leave them. They are definitely my guilty pleasures. Now, even though I love these things does that mean I am excited for Transformers 5, not really. Because despite what you have said. The good news about the writers room, Ehren kruger leaving, and generally a good looking angle, I am not convinced Transformers 5 is going to be that much different then the other 3 sequels. Wanna know why? Because I have seen this all before. Each movie we think Maybe It will be different, but nope, it isn't. And, fool me 3 TIMES "Fuck the peace sign, Load the chopper, and let it rain on you.". Aka, no matter how good the news is for Transformers 5 from here on out, I will still not be expecting a movie as enjoyable as the first. I just won't, if you make 3 bad sequels in a row, I am just not expecting the 4th sequel to be any different in quality. Now do I still enjoy the movies, YES I FREAKING LOVE THESE THINGS, but do I know they are bad, absolutely. I own all four movies on Blu-ray, I own 2 dvds of DOTM, 3 for ROTF, and 2 for the first movie and 1 for Aoe. I buy them each time Knowing what I am getting into. And I expect the same thing from Transformers 5.
Dark Skull
I'm not….even…sure….there could be a comparison. One was about outlandish stunts involving cars. The other was about robots. How can that be compared rightfully and fairly? Ah well whatever. People will compare what they want even if it doesn't make any sense to do so. But that's just my opinion.
There was emotional depth? Really? If there was, Bay and crew sure as hell failed to get that across. Either that, or the movie bored me to tears and because of the extreme boredom I felt, I couldn't even be bothered to notice it. The only thing I did notice, was the fact that I had to go take a monstrous pee and stuck around in my seat wondering if I'd miss anything in AOE worth potentially busting my bladder over. Unfortunately, I wasted my time.
Umm…you know……here, just read this:
Deckard Shaw – The Fast and the Furious Wiki
It more or less explains what was actually said in the movie. Granted, I don't think you paid attention, but that's ok. It was more or less implied that due to his military background and training…hey…maybe he had his own secretive ways of tracking people. From my own experience….the military does have access to methods that can find/locate people. But I'll just leave it at that before it starts to look like I'm wearing a tinfoil hat.
It almost sounds like you never saw the previous 6 movies. That's ok if you didn't. But if you did, then the emotional build up actually came from the fact that these characters had a long running bond with each other. It would probably make more sense to you if you had seen the previous 6. Maybe you have. But your posts and rants make it seem like you haven't. Just saying.
As far as Ratchet's death. Not sure how you can comare that to the loss of a loved one. His death was more or less along the lines of "anger" because of betrayal. Walker's death? Tragedy. Which often times evokes different emotions because it's not betrayal. Again, I'm not sure how you can justify comparing apples and oranges here.
Except that Dinobot Charge was ruined by a previous scene….I'll get to that in a bit…
The fight with Lockdown? Really? Man…I almost want to find that post where someone pointed out all the flaws in that fight and how it absolutely made no sense. In short, it was just as mindless as you say about F7.
As if AOE never had it's mindless moments? And I beg to differ. AOE had extremely stupid moments. I'll highlight one here. Like I said above, the Dinobot Charge was ruined and made "bleh" by the scene where Optimus was getting the Dinobots to fight with him. Do you remember the trailer? Do you remember the hype? Here, let me refresh your memory….
The trailer showed Optimus bitch slapping Grimlock. OOOH! AHHHHH! OH BOY! AN EPIC FIGHT SCENE!!!! YEAAHHHHH!! I'M EXCITED!!!!!!!!……….
But what did we see? A cheesy ass feel-good speech after a back hand. Then he rides Grimlock like Grimlock is a horse. That was totally…….lame……as…..all….fuck. And I hate to cuss, but I can't even begin to articulate how disappointing that scene was. The movie even built up the Dinobots to be these super badasses. And all it took was a back handed bitch slap and some cheesy after-school-special-feel-good crap???? What…..in……the…..fuck?!? No dude….if you want to say the Dinobot Charge was awesome….NO….please….just stop right there. It's akin to hyping up a Ronda Rousey fight, you get all excited to watch an epic MMA fight of epic proportions. Hype has been building up for weeks! Everyone is talking about it!!!! But instead, one little jab and she's out like a candle in 10 seconds. Yeah no dude. Don't even….no….there is no way you can tell anyone that charge scene was any good unless you dismiss/cut out the entire part about how that whole thing started to begin with. It was made totally lame ass by what Bay and crew did with Grimlock vs Optimus.
No it wasn't. It was all over the place! You know…I'm not so sure you're actually giving a fair comparison here because I'm noticing a lot of bias which leads me to think I shouldn't take anything you say seriously….
But…I know I'm not changing your perspective. And I honestly don't care to. I'm only providing my response and my thoughts on the matter.
