Action Masters were cashing in on the G.I. Joe style of play. Mini figures interacting with accessories and vehicles. It helped back then that (mostly) cartoon accurate toys were unheard of and many returning characters haven't had a new toy in years.
Would you call G.I. Joe fans stupider than Transformers fans due to their choice of toy?

if that is truly the reason for this line.. then it is either the worst business decision or most evil
worst- why market toys to people without money
evil – these toys are so cheaply made they take advantage of the poor and actually have a huge profits margin

The primary demographic for these is for poor households with little disposable income. So good job on being an asshole, guy.

I really hope this is just a rumor as im sure you do too. :/ The Power Ranger toys kinda have nothing on Hasbro. Or Transformers.

Alright, I've been meaning to pick up some new shampoo. I love me some Shampooimus Prime. Nothing better than smelling just prime in the morning. Hopefully they have conditioner of these too.Don't need those dirty DeceptiDandruffCons popping up.

I've actually seen kids around 10 or so walk over to the toy aisle pick up one of these and buy them, most likely reason is because stores very rarely even get any the deluxe and up toys because they get shipped boxes of one step changers instead of actual transformers.

Drift reminded me of that Egyptian god Samurai Jack summoned in that one episode.

the most interesting thing about these is the profit margin. 5 part kits and simple moulding even if half of these end up as land fill they must make bank. Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt one of the new higher ups at Hasbro an ex Bandai of america staffer? I have seen a lot of PR style toys popping up over the last 2 years.

True, I don't have any action masters with the exception of Bumblebee. So my knowledge of them is limited to the basic figure itself not the accessories.
Where I was trying to go with that comparison is there are thousands of action figures including some transformers that have no gimmicks at all. The lack of transforming, lack of paint apps does not dumb down children.
These figures serve a purpose for kids. I've seen kids carrying them around, my son has a few. These are not and were never meant to be for adults, so why are adults complaining?
wearelegion69
Watch out there, Actions Masters DID have Transforming gimmicks, it just wasnt on the characters but on their accessories instead. Also, the Action master Elite toys did transform.
Hollywood Hoist
My son still loves the titan figures and they play right along with his transforming figures.
Those saying these figures are making kids dumber, I guess all action figures that aren't Transformers are doing that. Too bad in the 90's when action masters came out the IQ of children dropped 50 points because there was no transforming gimmick.

These are far worse then.the rescue bots titan heros. At least those had the chest cockpit gimmick with the human figures. These are also FAR less detailed. UGH! "Hasbro, come on man! You.can.do better!"

Yes! Thank you. Saying that this simplification of transformers is to make the play pattern more fun is ridiculous. It's to make them les expensive to make and grab more cash. I was capable of transforming some of the more complex figures at age 6(we can't all be geniuses like you!). If Hasbro would just be honest why this things exist I can respect that…..not really, but just be honest!
Grimlockimus
Reminds me of those five pound gummy bears you see online. Big solid colored masses that no one enjoys that end up leaving a bad taste in your mouth and makes you regret ever having purchased it.

Just fricking stop…

I know this question may have been said many times but what's the point of these if they don't transform? Even if you say, "it can be considered an action figure." But what "action" can you preform with a toy that only has what like two points in articulation? I just don't see the point in these, even for kids. I know if these were out in '04 (when I got into Transformers) I would have went right passed them..

Good point. You forgot to add that Hasbro is one of the most ethical companies in America – seriously, they apply for the seal every year. (I assume it's an actual organization that decides these things – Hasbro could be giving itself accolades, too, though!)
Exactly. Why do kids today need dumber toys? Because dumb toys are cheap and profitable for Hasbro! In fact, if they could just print out blocks of plastic, I'm sure they could save more. Call them STACKERS, and there you go. FULL PROFIT, DUMB KIDS.
And for the record, young kids tend to smash each other with these things, so I wish they'd AT LEAST use softer plastic. But again, that would be expensive, so Hasbro sez no.

I had mastered G1 Megs at age 4 because it was challenging and interesting. This is simply making kids dumber.

And why do these have less paint on them than the Marvel equivalents? Not that they're masterpieces themselves, but still…
