Play With This Too revealed earlier today renders for a new figure that will be available for their Kickstarter: Flarestrike. The renders show off Flarestrike as a repaint to the Jetstrike mold, both of which will be available during their September Kickstarter. Flarestrike is an homage to Pretender Sunstorm.
Worth mentioning in this update is the customizer edition of the Jetstrike mold also being offered. This figure will have all white plastic parts, allowing you to paint and/or switch parts around to make a new character. The bio for this custom figure will also be a madlib!
Check it out after the jump!

Don't really look as them as characters. Otherwise you're customizing one dude into another dude rather than building something new. We're giving the customizers the tools and they're using their creativity to paint/mix and match the parts into whoever they want to.

Hey Play With This Too, do your customizer editions of Boneyard and Jetstrike have individual names? You know, like Ghoststrike and Bonewraith or something? If only just to make ordering them easier, so people can say on their post-Kickstarter order forms "Send me three Ghoststrikes and 2 Bonewraiths please"?

We're going to keep our stretch goals tight. Only show a few like 2 or maybe even 3. Really focused on just getting the figures funded. Extra human heads will be part of the stretch goals. Extra heads, extra weapons, extra gear…. Then we'll see how far we get.

One cool thing about Play With This Too Kickstarters is every time one is successful, their library of parts would expand to make future figures cheaper and easier to produce. Look at Muscules above, he has the waist piece, helmet, lower legs, feet, forearms and fists right off Jetstrike. So if this Kickstarter is successful and Muscules is part of the next kickstarter, half the figure is already made!

For the Kickstarter one or two human heads would be fine as stretch goal.
I really hope some of those concepts get tackled in the next Kickstarter. Ancient Astronaut, Ankhor, Goldminer and Astroblast looked like a lot of fun.

We saw a couple human heads. I will see if I can find them…
Okay counting HUMAN heads we have seen from Play With This Too we have:
1. Boneyard
2. Jetstrike
3. Astroblast
4. Ancient Astronaut
5. Madwing
6. Muscules
7. Goldminer
8. Lady Cosette
9. Cosmina
10. Screwdriver
11. Manvil Forgehead (okay, sorta a comedy gimmick head, but still human).
I'm sure they have more we have not seen yet. The Muscules, Astroblast and Goldminer ones were pretty generic human males that could be colored different ways. I'm sure we will get those heads in blonde, brown, grey, black and red hair versions. Probably all the Strikers will have different color hair too.

Only problem was last time most of the heads were inhuman or jokey. A few alternate human heads would be cool.
AutobotSoldier
It would be cool if PWTTOO could include flame effects flame effects with this guy.

I may just end up standing Legends of Cybertron Sunstorm next to him no matter what comes with him. It's just too cool a figure.

I wonder if there is demand for different heads if they will start with all 4 Strikers having the same head sculpt and then as a stretch goal make them all get unique head sculpts.
Also, the heads are swappable, and we saw Play With This Too has lots of heads planned in their "Head Shots" series. So even if they heads are the same now, they can release alternate heads later that you can pop on them if you want them to be different.

Here is a more detailed render:
Stratos
Clone or not, I too would prefer slightly different head sculpts but I realize $$ is an issue.
Johntimus Prime
I do kinda wish these had an inner robot (roughly Legends scale) the transformed like the originals, if they did I'd totally go for them.

Isn't Sunstorm suppose to be the clone of Starscream? They should look similar.
OriginalFire
I know its a repaint but it would be cool if the face sculpt was a little different or even a visible minority.
WhiteMocha
To me the head sculpt is reminiscent of William Fichtner:
…with a few other influences mixed in there. It has a good thuggish 80's quality to it (the hairstyle is fairly 80's), but to me maybe looks a bit old and rawboned for Starscream/Sunstorm. I guess I always think of Starscream as more of a smarmy pretty-boy. Still, this is a nice sculpt that definitely has a unique look and a good sense of personality to it.
Thundershot
I can't seem to zoom in on much detail, but from afar it looks like Magneto's head.
zeroblue2099
I can see it as the human verision of Starscream; he looks like a Machiavellian backstabber. I just have a hard time imagining that face as a hero, which this verision is supposed to be.
Scaleface
Why would he NOT want to look like Peter Cushing? It means you can command the Death Star, hunt vampires, fly the Tardis and solve crime with Watson. It's about the coolest human face around.
Plus Peter Cushing collected figures! Seriously!

Johntimus Prime
Why does the human face look like Grand Moff Tarkin?

So a ship full of Autobots and Decepticons crash on the planet Eternia and to adapt and fit in utilize Pretender technology?
