Another lazy Saturday here, another random photo shoot. Today we are taking a look at Transformers Cloud Hellwarp – a repaint of Generations Sky-Byte into Skywarp colors. Why you ask? Well, check out TFW2005’s own Sol Fury’s explanation from a while back:
Hellwarp is a completely new, non-homage character, there was a Hellscream in 1998’s Beast Wars Second, who was a remold of Cybershark to represent an evolved version of that show’s Starscream. Hellwarp is a similar concept – a recolored version of Generations Skybyte to represent a cyborg shark evolution of skywarp. To top it off, the mohawk head that using the Skybyte mold gives Skywarp just might be a reference to Transformers Armada Skywarp, who also had a fin on his head. Hellwarp is the E-Hobby exclusive of the fourth set of Cloud releases.
What we get is a wacky new way to repaint the shark and give OG Robots in Disguise fans more filler for their shelves. This guy was an e-Hobby exclusive and is available from some of our sponsors: Big Bad Toy Store, TFSource, Toy Arena, Hobby Link Japan, and The Chosen Prime.

Great repaint, and awesome shots, Tony!
Lumpy
That's very true.

Agree 100%. I can't think of any tf that wouldn't look sweet in black and purple. I also like the edgy name for this repaint – which looks fantastic. Some magic/occultish-similar symbols would fit with his cyberdemon look.

Funny thing, the series where Starscream becomes Hellscream also has a character named Skywarp, but he's a Maximal Eagle.

Skywarp's deco just goes with everything. Not just that but its cool having some more swear words as Transformers names…I know hell isn't really one but still.
Lumpy
I've got one for sale. PM me.
Jetbolt
That would be cool to see.
Anyway, great pictures Tony.
OriginalFire
Oh, does anybody know where to get this guy at a decent price.
OriginalFire
The more I look at this guy the more I wanna buy it. The regular figure looks so crappy in bot mode

I don't think Hasbro themselves will do it. Thrilling 30 is over and CW has taken over. More importantly the most obscure thrilling 30 ever got was a guy based on an ehobby/diaclone figure. Scourge seemed the obvious redeco of RTS Prime yet Funpub were the ones who ended up doing him. I think Cybershark will be a similar case. It's even happening with the Armada Seekers; Ramjet and Skywarp are being done by Funpub even though along with Thundercracker they're all obvious redecoes of Armada Starscream.
Bass X0
Me too. I'm sure Hasbro will whenever they get around to repainting Sky-Byte. He's not a memorable character but he is the most obvious choice.
TFormerfan
I hope they make a cybershark repaint too
Raiyuki
TFwiki describes it best: it's both a direct and roundabout homage to Hellscream.
Don't forget the gorilla arm. Although I'm sure I'm the only one bothered by it.
DESTRO
Awesome Photos with a cool repaint deco.

That's some purty paint. Love the Skywarp deco. Black and purple always did scream "Con" to me. That said, the Sky Byte mold isn't exactly perfect (the bot mode and transformation scheme is overly fiddly for my tastes) but the shark mode is pretty ace.
Raiyuki
Great looking figure. The colors look really good on him (and everything else). I perso ally like keeping him in the official configuration with his wings hnfolded and up.
Tony_Bacala
Ahh. Also not an issue here so far. But, all parts and tucks seem comparable to the other 2 versions (Takara/Hasbro).
Tony_Bacala
Haha, I see what you're saying. I think what he meant was it wasn't a direct "upgrade" of a previous character. He's got multi-homage.
gabumon
No. theres a pin and a loop connected to the head that broke right away on our Skybite. It connects the head to the chest lever piece.
Lumpy
His colors are definitely cool, but I still think I'm going to sell mine. I have the original Hellacream, maybe I'll put them together to see how they look first.
