Thanks to Comic Book Resources, we have an interview to pass along featuring the IDW Windblade team of writer Mairghread Scott and artist Corin Howell. The interview discusses the events of Combiner Wars, the fallout of that crossover, and what’s next for Windblade. The interview also dives into the introduction of a few characters into the IDW storylines.
If you haven’t finished reading the Combiner Wars storyline, play it safe and skip the interview for some minor spoilers.
Enjoy the interview and be sure to pick up your IDW Transformers comics!

Actually I do not think Scott understands it all very well when she's making a direct comparison between Prime and Windblade.
With Prime, he did let Prowl to be imprisoned and punished, even if he was his long time friend and even then Prime was pissed enough to beat crap out of Prowl. Prowl's escape is down to either Prime's incompetency, or Rattrap's competency, take your pick.
But it's not like Prime shielded Prowl completely, or tried.
With Windblade, she gave Chromia maybe a slap on the writs and the basically a weak pasive-agressive talk like "boo, bad Chromia, you should feel bad!", then few issues later she was happy to hug her.
There's no equality between these two situations. Prime still comes far more just and unbiased (though also overly indecisive at times) than Windblade.
Unless Scott's just handwaving her unfortunate writing from ending of WB mini.

I love the inclusion of transformers from other branches of the franchise, and so far the plot rational of lost colonies has been a pretty good one. I was out of the transformers scene during most of those lines. Has there been any characters from the animated line yet?
I really dislike Howell's art. Probably my least favorite transformers artist now. I don't like the very cartoony style. I really with they stuck With the artist from the first Windblade series.
Megastar
I'm just waiting for everyone to get their comeuppance, including Prowl and Starscream.
Rodimus Prime
Oh my word, they think that they've been subtle?
Verno
Because we've never seen that before in the IDW comics?

I like that Scott's adding in elements and characters from non G1 series into her books since it's a great way to acknowledge the different TF series we've had over the years.

I want a toy of this Moonracer…
Thorhammer
Why does Moonracer's model look so much like Knockout's in that sketch?
Matty
I enjoy it. It's a little more silly, but I think it works.
Toolverine
Hate this Disney looking art.
Autovolt 127
I hate to say but this diversity is good. I like that Scott's actually trying to appeal to the fans of the other Transformers series here.
Oh god, that comparison, how did i not think of it before.

Interesting insight of what's to come later on for Windblade especially seeing Optimus himself defend Prowl's misdeeds yet they have terrible consequences. Perhaps this could change how her relationship with Chromia with how she hid what she did after seeing how defending Prowl came back to bite Optimus's aft often.
