Seth You should check out the Joe 50th+1 line. I'd say pass on Spirit and Storm Shadow, but the Shipwreck/CC set is really good and the Zartan from the 3 pack looks incredible.

I've played Elsword and it is free to play through Steam

It's a quote ultron uses in age of ultron. He describes the avengers as "puppets" who just want to keep the world the way it is. He sees himself above that so according to him "there are no strings on me"
Seth Buzzard
Oh man, I think I blocked that thing out of my memory.
Lazerwave
That whole No Strings on me, I don't get it. How can that be his catchphrase?
Gojira Prime
No one's mentioned it so I feel the need to point out: there was a Transformers BAF. The Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Trans-Mutate.

Hey Fellas, I think I have a good contender for a Transformers Build-a-Figure for you:
Autobot X/Autobot Spike
I think he checks all the necessary boxes:
-doesn't transform, doesn't need to… Could just be an articulated action figure
-is already described as a Frankenstein's monster made of spare parts, which seems perfect for a BAF
-too obscure/niche to warrant his own figure
As a bonus, he gives people a way to have Spike in their Classics/Generations collection (which is presumably the line best suited to a BAF).
Come to think of it, an Autobot X Hero Masher could work too, since HM's are sort of like BAF's that just come packaged in their combined forms.
Anyhow, that's all. I don't think I've actually commented in a podcast thread before, so I should also probably say how much I thoroughly enjoy the podcast. It's one of my go-to podcasts for commuting, you guys make it consistently entertaining.

I wonder if the Marvel Apocalypse figure that Vangelus saw and thought was surprisingly small wasn't the BAF but the single release figure (that was a fat looking single carded figure from a few years prior to the BAF). The actual BAF Apocalypse was incredibly big – easily the same size as the Sentinel and Galactus.
Seth Buzzard
So crazy it just might work!
True but it's movie Ultron, I would have liked movie Ant Man to have had more movie stuff in the wave.
Grimwing
The logic with putting Movie Ultron in the Ant Man Marvel Legends wave. Is because Hank Pym Ant Man creates Ultron in the comics.

Doesn't Vangelus already have a Zaruba ring? I remember him wearing one in the April Fools' video he did a few years ago.

Haven't posted here in a while but i wanted to chime in and say that Seth isn't wrong. I saw the BossTones back in the day, and it was definitely a great show. Those dudes definitely know how to party, I don't care what their third album says.

ffffff doing all this in the Cyberverse playset motif is something that I hadn't thought of at all, I would super be into that!

So I was mulling over how to pull off a Transformers BAF that would still make sense in the budget confines of a normal retail pricepoint. It's not quite the same ballpark as most typical BAF setups, but I think I miiight have something.
Remember those DotM Cyberverse playsets? The pricepoint basically consisted of a Legion-sized toy and a corresponding little playset, like a little battle platform with turrets and doodads. What if you could do something similar to that? So with Omega Supreme as the jumping-off point, you could have, say:
-Optimus Prime with Tank playset
-Bumblebee with Rocket playset
-Starscream with Space Station playset
-Megatron with Command Station playset
Each one can be bought as self-contained playset with a little Legends-sized guy, but collect them all and you can combine the sets into Omega Supreme, with the altmode being a larger combined fortress/station playset. Omega Supreme can easily be swapped out with any cityformer, following this pattern.

There are so many layers in there. It's like a swiss roll. A blooming onion. A decadent cake. I can't even begin, I can only gesture at it and hope others see the beauty that I see.
