Transformers #44
John Barber (w) • Andrew Griffith (a & c)
LOVE AND HATE! Two emotions only inches from each other—and TRACKS and NEEDLENOSE have felt them both. On opposite sides of an eons-long war, what happens when they meet again? And what’s ARCEE up to on CYBERTRON?
FC • 32 pages • $3.99
Parasidian
I like that Griffith put Quark in the background of that first page, nice nod to MTMTE.
Parasidian
That sure does look like him.
Autovolt 127
Agreed.
I really like these figures but I have no idea for their personalities other some fan ideas.
Stryker055
This looks like it's going to be another winner like the Cosmos issue. Barber's really nailing these character focus stories. Makes me wish we could bring Spotlights back full-time.
Grimlockimus
Good to see the Protectobots making their way back to the Lost Light, hopefully they arrive in time for Defensor to be of use in some..future events.
grindcore138
Their first jump after Dark Cybertron was straight to the Galactic Rim, even if they've not travelled that far in the, in story, 8(ish?) months after that first jump the Lost Light's still pretty gosh darned far away.
Rotorstorm
Glad to see the Protectobots uncombined and headed back to the Lost Light, they haven't been seen as individuals since the enigma was used on them.
Also I have a feeling Defensor is going to be needed in a few issues time.
Looking forward to finding more out about Needlenose too.
Bisto Yeti
2nd page, panel 1 sure looks a lot like Swindle hanging out behind Acidstorm.
Mistake or not dead?
YoungPrime
Given that fact that Hasbro made them introduce those crappy 2nd stringers in the first place.
bennydeckersac
I can't remember exactly what was said, but James Roberts was asked about the Protectobots at TFcon. He said that First Aide's story was not done, but alluded that the others would probably not be heavily featured because the cast is already pretty large. He had not heard of Rook. Someone passed a Rook figure up to him to look at. Possible inspiration?
Sumner Sturgeon
Seriously. >> I agree, if people are gonna start accepting these characters, IDW needs to step up their game and give guys like Alpha Bravo, Offroad, and especially Rook their time in the sun. No one else is going to.
Insane Galvatron
Or they just haven't traveled all that far due to getting side tracked and stuff…
grindcore138
Magnus mentions to Optimus in Combiner Wars Opening Salvo that they've learned a ton of stuff about quantum travel technology, the Protectobot's shuttle's either been souped up with it or has some remote connection to the Lost Light's engines. Or maybe a wizard did it.
Veritas Prime
This issue certainly seems intriguing and it's good to see the First Aid and the others return to the Lost Light.
Sockie
Given that there's a space bridge on the Ark-7, I really don't think her coming and going between Earth and Cybertron is much of a problem.
Insane Galvatron
Last time we saw Arcee, she was on Earth. Then in Combiner Hunters, she was on Cybertron. I was hoping maybe this issue would show her come to Cybertron and that CH would take place after this issue. But nope… she's there from the start.
Thundershot
Looking good.
I love seeing character mixes like this. It's refreshing. Seeing the 1984 character interact with the 1988 characters.. Yeah, that's the stuff.
So, Mirage and First Aid are going back. Wonder if the others are there too.
How do people get to and from the LL and back so fast? Is the LL going faster than a speeding snail?
hyruk
Wow!
Seems like a good issue,Because it focuses on side characters like Needlenose and Tracks,Also more insight on Arcee`s character.
Ex-RID is surely picking up speed in season 2
me like
Negativedark
I just worry that he'll end up being jobbed to make the DJD look tougher. I dunno, seems like the comics writers aren't too fond of combiners at times.
I hope someone calls Needlenose on his BS. The Con's aren't the noble rebellion fighting for freedom against their oppressors anymore. There the butchers of countless innocents who didn't agree with them, and then their were all those organic races they genocided… They became the oppressive regime that murdered those that dissagreed with them, and while this continuity's Autobots aren't spotless, if the cons won anyone who wore the autobot badge wouldn't be free to walk around complaining. Or be doing anything really.
Omegashark18
Looks like another good issue. Definitely starting to feel like the series pre-DC days.
I wonder who Starscream is talking to? Himself or someone on comm link?
