I'm actually looking forward to this after the preview. Still, I hate to say this but I'm just not as invested as I was. Something's missing. Like Roberts has the MTMTE lego set but he's missing pieces..
And even with all that's happened so far this season, I feel like NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. There's not one single story that stands out to me like last season. The big Sy-fy twist story with the second lost light was good, but not great. Big idea with nothing really big around it. Cool idea, don't get me wrong. Roberts is good with the sy-fy and twist, still it's not hitting the mark. Even the Brainstorm time travel stuff. Good story, not great. That clearly was a big story, but it didn't read big to me. I thought the Thunderclash story would be something big, but again nothing happened. Hell, Thunderclash is even fine now.
Half way through this season and we still haven't encountered the DJD. This series needs a villain, and has like 6 big ones to choose, but we're still playing games and shit. Roberts is still developing characters. Which is good, but you have to have smoke monster kill someone, or a hatch to unlock.
Still a lot of potential for this series. Still lots of great places for it to go. Still best TF series in ages. Just wish it would hurry up and do something worth while. Something to invest me again.

Personally I think we could do with out the two issues in question. The issue s could had been done after the CWs and that because they felt like fillet issues.

This is TF fandom.
Everything here is bound to be polarising.
Anguirus
5/10 is polarized?
I don't use a numeric system but I guess to me it would be a 7/10 or so. Maybe more like an 8/10 if the scale includes all IDW Transformers comics as opposed to just MtMtE or post-relaunch.
My reviews don't go up till Wednesday morning on Deadshirt.net. So by the time you read it you will probably be able to get the issue yourself and yell at me for my bad taste or w/e.
Myself I've been trying to convince my wife to read it due to our recent Friends and Community binges…

Oh that's just great, just what the fandom needs more polarizing things.

Lies. It's seven in the evening!
SMOG
What is this 'morning' you speak of. There is only thesis. Sleep is for the weak!

Literally none of 41-42's problems are related to that though.
WilyMech
The minor spoiler that Angures posted. It means the time lines are caught up. The pacing and the timing of when the arcs on the time lines bothers me. It is a lot of activity in a short period of time.
Anguirus
c'mon it's seven in the morning here grumble grumble
He might be referring to the extreme time compression that "Season 2" of MtMtE is under?
(minor spoiler)
It's not like having a spot for a two-parter that doesn't kill anyone excuses it for being kind of a mess of one, though, as MtMtE has excelled in many stories of that format before.
Murasame
RID and MTMTE have to be in sync for issues 50 respectively, if I recall correctly.

What on Earth does Combiner Wars have to do with anything?
WilyMech
I think last two issues made people be a little worried. I agree that the 41-42 were not the best of Roberts but my thinking is that he was trying to work around the Combiner Wars.

While Angurius may have liked it, Tformers.com reviewer ExVee did not.

Just goes to show that this issue will polarize.
SMOG
Get back to work, Anguirus!

From my observations, some are, some aren't.
At the very least, it seems relevant to point out that it's very much plugged into what people have liked about the series so far, as opposed to being the stream-of-consciousness jokey meta-thon that folks here have been vocally afraid of. "GIJoe vs. The Transformers" this ain't.
This is not a guarantee that you or anyone else in particular will enjoy the issue.
The last two issues were probably the poorest single story that MtMtE has had to offer. This one was not. All IMO of course.
Noideaforaname
I'm… not sure how many are worried it'll be irrelevant. I think what concerns people is if it's anything other than 20 pages of sitcom references leading up to a "clever" plot twist that really isn't all that amusing. I mean, last issue added two characters to the crew and yet that didn't prevent it from falling flat for many people.

I planned on getting this regardless. But I'm glad it's important as every other issue to a degree.
