The official San Diego Comic-Con 2015 site has been updated. They have revealed their jam packed Friday panel schedule. Of note for Transformers fans are two panels. The first highlights the role of women in the Transformers universe. The second is an IDW Comics panel that may or may not contain Transformers info.
Women of Transformers
From Windblade and Arcee to Strongarm and the brand-new Combiner making her debut at SDCC, female Transformers characters have finally gotten their due; but behind the page and in fandom, even bigger changes have been happening. Panelists include Transformers comics writers Mairghread Scott and Georgia Ball, artists Corin Howell and Sara Pitre-Durocher, Hasbro’s Sarah Carroll, and special guests.

So, anyone know if anything transformers related end up coming out of the IDW panel?
Boy Blunder
No, no, it really isn't.
Again, the fans who are going to Botcon don't need to be sold on the new toys as much. Let's face it – the majority of us who collect a given line/aesthetic/character/series/whatever are going to continue to do so, without needing to be baited into doing so. Joe Q. CasualCollector, on the other hand, might need to be enticed by an announcement of a favorite character, or an enticing new direction, or what have you.
Do I think Botcon should get the reveals first? Yes, absolutely. But I also recognize the reality that, as a business, they want to save the choice cuts to entice the people who aren't quite as likely to buy the toys. It's a standard practice.
PS – What did your original comment have to do with this thread? There aren't any toy reveals on the Friday panels – Victorion will likely be revealed during the Hasbro panel on Thursday.
PPS – You should get that keyboard looked at. Or your syntax. Either way.

Moot point when high res pictures of everything end up online the same day as the reveals at both conventions. The panels really aren't a selling point for attendance because there's nothing exclusive about what they show.

WHO cares if it makes sense to YOU? WHAT does THAT comment HAVE to do with THIS thread? And YES, everything I typed is true.
Clinch
It's a pity so like I said that the fembot characters suck.

Thursday I think

I would assume so.

No, they SHOW the majority OF the reveals to the general BUYING public, because despite THE fact that we are hardcore collectors, WE only make up a small PERCENTAGE of the customer base. HOW many times copies this have TO be said for people to understand IT?
Also, seriously, WHY do people do the RANDOM capitalization? MAKES no sense TO me.
femmebotfangirl
She's mentioned on her blog that she's been unwell a few times, I hadn't heard anything about a falling out so I'm not sure where that is coming from.
Not really no. If anything they are overstating the case a lot when they say women in Transformers are getting their due. There's like a dozen named fembots in IDW compared to hundreds of male fembots, nearly all male dominated creative teams have been the norm for 30 years and the number of fembot toys released each year is still a fraction of the male toys. Yeah Combiner Wars was all about pushing fembots, not, you know, Combiners.
It's still awesome that this panel is a thing AND that they have remembered to have women on it, unlike other women in x panels that have been all men.
OperaSingerPrime
Looking forward to SDCC reveals! Cant wait to see what they have done with Victorion (sp?) Loves me some fembots… and a combiner of all fembots!!! You had me at hello.
OperaSingerPrime
Oh no? Really? This is a shame to hear. I haven't read the new Windblade but I loved the first one and thought they were a sensational team!
Clinch
Really pushing the fembot stuff aren't they? I don't buy the fembot figures or comics because I'm not interested in purchasing them or their material but this seems a bit…..much. I wish they'd focus on good story telling than some of the filler and nonsense that has gone on in idw to push fembots.
MROptimusPrime
The TRANSFORMERS fans who spend the thousands of dollars a piece for BOTCON should get ALL the reveals every year, instead of weeks later SDCC getting the better ones. It's like a slap in the face EVERY year, and one of the reason I do not attend. They could just as easily make ALL the reveals at BOTCON, then show the exact same things at SDCC, they would not lose any money.
fallen_revenge
Is their a panel for Hasbro this year?
Autovolt 127
That's a little smug don't you think?
I heard she's sick at the moment.

Am I the only one that had to read the news title a second time? Not gonna lie, at first I thought it was a singular panel and the news was that there was women in it.
Seriously though, can't wait for some of these panels. Not excited about Victorion or IDW but everything else has me stoked. Especially Devastation.
PredaConvoy
I live in hope! Really wanna know who the xxxxxxbots are. Team name, names, personalities, gimme! I love Combiner Wars, even though my wallet winces with each new reveal..
T-Hybrid
Sounds like we're getting the full Victorion reveal in July then. Awesome! Hopefully they get an official team name!
Massasoit
It's pure speculation on my part. I hope it's not true, but that is the way I see it until IDW clarifies the situation. She could end up being one of the special guests for all I know.
