We are now going through the Post-E3 Coverage and information is still trickling in from Transformers: Devastation. Sony has interviewed the Developer (PlatinumGames) and the Publisher (Activision) regarding the upcoming game which is scheduled to release on October 6th this year.
The developers were kind enough to address some of the concerns buzzing around the internet after the big reveal. They assure us that Transformers: Devastation will feel exactly like a quality PlatinumGames game and hence addresses the skepticism that was after their not-so-successful Legend Of Korra game.
During the interview they also explain the game mechanics including how to pull off certain moves and the difficulty settings.
You can enjoy the video, after the jump.

Bayonetta is one of he best games ever made if you like hack and slash games. I like the character but I found the gameplay to be dull and repetitive. There's good repetitive and bad repetitive but, that depends on whether you're enjoying the game. Hack and slash games generally aren't my kind of games. That said, I did go into the game wanting to be done with it as soon as I can so that probably spoiled my experience. Enjoyed Metal Gear Rising though which was the same kind of game.

I believe these days PC games are digital through Steam which is a free software to download. As far as I know physical disks for PC died a few years ago although I may be wrong.
EDIT: I just checked Amazon and PC games are till on disk. Maybe you just need to be patient, it may turn up.

The more I hear about this game, the more I want it. Can't wait to play this.

platinum games failed miserably with Legend of Korra.. and vanquish was more forgettable than Metal Gear Revengerence or whatever.
I loved Bayonetta.. and hope they have enough dev time to make this a legitimately fun game…
Im superglad they incorporated transforming into vehicles, into the actual attack combos.. but some of those moves are borderline goofy… I will miss the weight and sense of space the Highmoon games provided..but I know I will love the nostalgia trip this one will provide.

Reading some posts comparing WfC and FoC favourably to this is like gazing into the maw of madness. Platinum is responsible for Bayo 2, arguably the greatest character action game ever made. With all due respect to High Moon, and as much as I like their games, they are nowhere near the level of Platinum. High Moon made good games, Platinum makes genre defining games.

Bayonetta, which is clearly the basis of this game, is famous for having deceptively complex and in-depth combos that are created through a very well-done and simple control system, I don't think basic needs to be a worry. Sideswipe is based on the Rakshasa weapon of Bayonetta, a lot of the moves are almost identical.
Seriously, guys, Bayonetta is one of the best games ever made and Bayonetta 2 is even better. If you want to get a feel for how this game will be I highly suggest you try them out. You won't be disappointed. Bayonetta knows what a game should be: insane and fun.

Waiting on a transformers movie game with characters like Rampage or Ravage.

The head of whatever at Activision doing the translating may be rather good at Japanese, but he seems to stuggle at translating in an interview rather from speed, infomality or being nervous. He is forgetting to tell us what the producer is saying and basically answering the question from his knowledge and not what is being said.
In this and the previous interview it is funny to see how the two Japanese men there are laughing a little at his translation as he struggles with words like "Freedom" and "Inspiration" he just repeats the question in japanese using the english words he forgets.
But the interview and the men got their points across while selling the game well.
I like seeing an American translating for a Japanese rather than bringing a paid Japanese translator… showing a good close relationship between the two companies…
They producer and director didn't have to come out and they showed the confidence in their product.
Well done… getting a good feel for this again.

Yeah, essentially, if you don't enjoy games like Bayonetta, you almost certainly won't enjoy this game.
If on the other hand you're a Bayonetta fan AND a Transformers fan? Heaven may have just arrived.

Okay, melee looks fun if over the top, but what isn't over the top regarding the very concept of TF itself? It's nice to get some good melee in for the first time since ROTF (and the brief segments of FOC with Bruticus and Megs/OP).
Still turned off big time by the apparently overly-slavish G1 love, only five playable characters, them being only Autobots, and the lack of multiplayer.
Shepard Prime
Hmmmmmm…
Well, by far it looks and feels so much better than any prior Transformers game not made by High Moon. The weightlessness, fluidity of movement and agility as well as integrating the transformations in better are all welcome additions as is the cell shading toon look. I imagine I'm going to have a ball being an autobot badass (tho' I'd love to have had the option to play as Megatron in this game, especially given the tone and asthetics involved in this game).
That said, I disagree with the idea that just because HMS designs had more moving parts and mechanical bits showing that they don't seem as alive. They're sentient robots first and foremost and all of that mech reinforced the idea that they're living, breathing robots.
Also, I assume this is more arcade and straightforward so the story probably isn't going to be as engaging as FOC/WFC which is a minus in my book. So I hope to heck that the assumed streamlined story will be made up for with as much sheer arcade-OTT fun packed in as possible.

No pc version to buy on Amazon ? is the PC version only downloadable ? Sorry , these are probably stupid questions, but its been so long since I bought a game ( PS2 game at that )

This looks amazing. I don't see how any transformers G1 fan could hate on it

Seriously? Not into this.

The game engine sounds awful to me. I'm NOT a fan of Bayonetta/NinjaGaiden. And WHO actually played Revengeance all the way through? That game hit the bargain bin so fast, it was silly.
WfC/FoC weren't perfect games, but I feel like their 3rd Person shooting mechanic worked better for the TF franchise than a beat-em-up-with-combos system. For example, when the hell has Optimus landed so many combos with his energon axe? The axe seemed more like a duel weapon, not a smash-Decepticon's-brains-in, normal-attack weapon!
All that said, there's another looming issue: add-on content. This game sounds half-finished… probably because it will be released half-finished. Wanna play as Decepticons? ADD-ON! Wanna do some multiplayer? ADD-ON! Want to buy the same game in a few months with more stuff included? GOTY EDITION!
I'll play a demo, if they deem it necessary to release one, but otherwise, it's a total pass for this gamer. I believe the only Autobot that should be punching and slashing THAT much is Grimlock!
fallen_revenge
I'll probably have to pick this up since I never purchased Rise of the Dark Spark, but I'm hoping this has Multiplayer. That or at least some type of Co-Op play or something.

Glad you can play the whole game as a character of your choosing after level 1.

Well said
