On top of showcasing their latest transforming robot toys this year, TakaraTomy has also brought a 1.3 meters (4 foot) tall fully automated transforming Transformers Adventure / Robot in Disguise Bumblebee robot to Tokyo Toy Show 2015 (a smaller 26 cm model is also shown). Thanks to photos and videos from several Japanese publications, we got to see those remotely controlled robots in action.
If you recall, TakaraTomy also shown off something similar at the show in 2013, except this time the technology has progressed much further after 2 years of development. As you will see in these videos, the robot, named “Bumblebee Quarter”, is capable of fully automated transformation from vehicle mode to robot mode, and also walks and drives in bipedal humanoid form.
According to information found an article from the Japan times, the project is a collaboration between Asratec Corp., developer of the V-Sido software operating system for robotic controls, and Brave Robotics, who specialize in creating transforming robots. The three companies founded Project J-deite in 2014, and hope to develop a 2.5 meters (8 foot) model by 2016 and a 5 meters model (16 foot) mode by 2020.
They say picture is worth a thousand words, so check out that videos below, and let us know if you think we will see real life Transformer in our life time.

mizuki088
I think it is just for show off.
bellpeppers
They couldn't because this would never survive a Drop Test.

You're on a site populated by nerds.
Lighten up.
ZapRowsdower
Nerd alert.
Cause, y'know, a Skynet controlled version of this would spell doom for the human race.
(Why can't people appreciate real technology for what it is without resorting to outlandish sci-fi movies as a basis for comparison? Ugh.).
Starscream Gaga
It's not Movie 'Bee, but its not a purchasable toy either. I'm like 99% sure its just been made for presentations.
Its either you think you're on to some interesting gimmick with your posts or you have serious obsessive issues.
Dormamu
No ankle tilts? Pass.
Also, jeez Japan, It's like 2015. Where's my Gundam?
(j/k, impressive, most impressive.)
[Wing_Saber-X]
that was pretty rad, imo.
edit: I wonder if Hasbro could attempt to even make something as awesome like this.
megatroptimus
This needs to happen.
Brave Magnus
That thing is scary! XD Sure looks cool but its scary!Think in the possibilities! xD
SPLIT LIP
Um, both are RID-based, actually.
This is basically a reshelling of an existing transformable car robot, so it's not super amazing if you've already seen that one. Still, it'd be awesome if one day we could get one of these things to transform into a properly proportioned robot.
AnonymousDwell
WOW. Amazing. (Seriously!)
Give me a G1 bug version and if I ever win the lottery I'll buy one!
Fallout
yay, another movie based bumblebee. that needed to happen.
DOTM Bumblebee
Oh my God, this is amazing! The fact that it's my favorite character is just icing on the already awesome cake!
bellpeppers
Still looks too much like a G1 brick, and would never pass in a live action movie. Bayformers look real- this don't.
Pretty darn impressive.
Chiller
I'm going to need a bigger man-cave if I start collecting these too
FanimusMaximus
Japan , I wish my country could love robots as much as you.
