Update: The demo is over, but make the jump to see a recording of what was shown.
The “Super Bowl of the video game industry”, E3, has been in full swing – and coming up, we will have the first ever, world-premiere gameplay of PlatinumGames’ upcoming Transformers Devastation for your viewing pleasure! You’ll be able to find it in the stream after the jump – be sure to keep an eye on it, as it will be premiering tonight at 6:00 PM EST / 3:00 PM PDT (roughly one hour from now). This post will also be updated with whatever details come out. Til then, sound off with what you hope to see after the break!
• Starting!
• Platinum has loved TF since they were kids
• Loves the history, taking inspiration from different generations
• Making a new, modern take
• One of the important things is transformation, put a lot of energy into making it a part of the battle system
• Unique part is 3 ways to use it – end of combo/chaining combos, using it to dodge, rush attack (gains maximum speed and can do a special combo)
• Optimus Prime/Bumblebee/Sideswipe gameplay
• Have their own internal engine, take base tech and add on top of it
• Originally Activision went to Platinum wanting a Transformers game, Platinum had to come up with something, concept of transformation is what they came up with
• Came up with their own aesthetic
• Can only play as Autobots, game is from the Autobot POV, but you experience the depth of the characters on both sides, it is story driven
• 5 playable Autobots
• Clip of Optimus/Wheeljack voice acting
• They have Dan Gilvezan too, Gregg Berger, Michael Bell, Frank Welker (Megs/Soundwave)
• Retail and downloadable game
• Is a full-blown game
• Done

Yes….Just Yes.
Don't Fuck with a Decepticon Combiner! Ok this one is sort of lame.

I really like this game, but it looks a little basic or too basic. I hope that we can play as a lot more characters, and the combo moves remind me of moves from Sonic the Hedgehog games and Street Fighter games. The graphics definitely look promising going for a G1 themed game.

Welp, congratulations to those who like this. I'm sincerely happy you guys are getting a game you are excited about.
But this does almost nothing for me… G1 style is okay and vastly better than the movies but not my cup of tea. I would have preferred if they had used the Classics designs. The brawling style doesn't really fit the the property as most of Transformers is shooting; or so my interpretation of it is. And I expect the plot/setting to be rather bland and bad.
So I'll just sit back and enjoy the High Moon games and be grateful I had a pair of games that I really enjoyed so much it resparked my interest in the IP. Heck, I even enjoyed the Cybertron segments of Dark Spark.
So in conclusion, enjoy it guys. I likely won't.
Snark
Used to play college gladiator, y'know. Could have gone pro if I didn't join the Decepticons!
maltesefalcon
I have a soft spot for licensed games and tend to overlook a lot of their flaws because im playing as a character I enjoy just hope that during the levels their are quiet moments where we can just mess around as the characters
my wishes for the game:
make individual levels replayable with any transformer without having to restart the game or activate new game plus
dlc hot rod
classic music
health bar! sick of the screen darkening effect nowadays
extra content like character model viewer, art, and bios there was a batman game (rise of sun-tsu) that had pictures of the toys as unlockable art so I would like to see stuff like that

i'm going to preorder multiple copies to send the message that this is the best game ever. ps4, ps3 and xbox 360 versions!
Scypris
Damn, that was sweet. Reminds me of Dragonball Xenoverse. I like the fighting style of the game, but I never got into Dragonball. This on the other hand, bought on sight!
Wheeljacks voice is a little choppy, but I can live with it.
algo448
I love the idea, and the aesthetic, all in all it should be really fun.

Platinum's fighting game mechanics are incredible so swift and badass. I'll probably won't buy the game but i'd like to play it eventually.
also Wheeljack's voice is ok.

When the guy said "With all due respect." you could practically hear the quotation marks on his tone.
This game looks incredibly silly. But in a way that works for the style. I mean Prime uses his disappearing trailer as an combo attack.
ReDevil
Looks just like Robotech Battlecry with G1 skins to me… Interested

You don't just get to bash shit, you also get to bash Strollalong and Smashplane!

Now that we've seen some actual gameplay my hopes are rising again. Artwise it just looks amazing, but had some big doubts (not the biggest beat m up / hack n slash fan).
Glad this is not a small DLC title, so in the hands of Platinum this should be great.
Obsidian X
Lilac classics Ramjet repaint as a toy thanks!
The game looks pretty cool.. kind of.. not really my genre. But it is Transformers and so very VERY G1 looking and thus tempting even though all you seem to do is bash shit, which i'm not really into.
Galaxy Convoy
I like what I see so far. Gotta agree with the sentiment of them doing air combos and transforming in midair for a ramming attack is definitely on the silly side. But it's a videogame that isn't trying to be all dark, edgy, and gritty, so I can let that slide.
But what I really wanna see is how a level progresses, atleast from the start and for like 5 minutes or so after. Just to get a good feel of how it plays. I really, REALLY hope isn't the same kinda thing that Tatakai/Call of the Future did. Put you in an "arena", you clear the area of enemies, automatically get moved to the next "arena". Rinse and repeat. That would be bad. Real bad.
Sentinel
Yeah… Well…
FREAKING AWESOME! I just finally got around to watching the demo video and it is incredible. Seriously, you can basically play the cartoon. How has no one done this before? What a brilliant concept and an amazing looking game. This will be the first video game I've bought in years and it will be a day one purchase. I can't wait.
Dormamu
I'm gonna hold judgement until actual reviews from players come out. I feel like it could either be good because of the gameplay and nostalgia, or bad because it's basically Naruto: Ninja Storm's engine with Transformers, and even that is gimped. N:NS has something like 35 characters, so having only 5 reported right now is disappointing.
I don't know of any point in time where Optimus transformed into a truck just to fly through the air to deliver a combo unless it was to shove his wingo in Megatrons oral processor.
Beemer
Yep. LOVE Dr. Smoove.
I had the same thought. But the 80's era-cartoonish style is such a nice breath of fresh air that I'm okay with the reflections being baked in.
EDIT: Too bad, it looks like they couldn't get the VW license for Bumblebee… based on a quick viewing he appears to be more generic and not a Bug. But the scale difference between him and the constructicons is perfect, love it. Really gets me amped for the eventual battle vs. Devastator!
OwlLasers
I just want to know that there will be more varied settings than what we've been shown. So far, with one exception, all of the gameplay we've seen has taken place in the middle of a city. Seems kind of boring.
Mako Crab
Blame it on Transformers: The Movie (1986). That's when he started getting all epic in his speech, and this game is clearly channeling the shading and art style of the movie.
But yeah, I totally agree. I want the more relaxed Optimus, not his epic speech voice.
