Planet X has shared on Facebook color prototype images of the next figure in their line of Fall of Cybertron Dinbots, named PX-05 Quirinus (Slag / Slug homage). These images shows off the robot mode’s range of articulation in a wide range poses, and also the accessories, including energon sword and scabbard, that will come with the figure. Images only shows the figure’s robot mode right now, but Dino mode images are sure to follow shortly. Stay tuned by checking out the images and the discussion after the jump!

I've had a similar experience with my Caelus (Swoop), that was back in July and I'm still waiting

Received a rerun copy of this today and unfortunately Dino mode doesn’t work as the tail linkage came with 2 of the same part rather than opposites. Hopefully the retailer can source the part. Other 4 figures were qc issue free but still a bummer

So is Planet X not planning to reissue Quirinus/Slag in a matching metallic version repaint?
As I am still holding out hope that both it, the seekers, Ironhide, Ratchet, Shockwave, and Trypticon will be reissued in matching metallic variant reissues to make it match all the other metallic figures.
As I LOVE those metallic paintjobs so far!!
Black Shuck
Right now sludge is their next rerelease, so only slug remains. I’m pretty sure they will make a metallic and a g2 version too like snarl(i think green is the g2 color for slag).

Has this guy gotten any repaints? I was hoping that he’d maybe have gotten a blue version, like Grimlock. If he hasn’t, is there any likelihood that Planet X may give him one in the future?

Just bumping this thread to say I am selling my copy with all accessories and original packaging for $83 + shipping. PM me if interested.

It's very minor, just make sure you don't force anything when you peg tail halves when going to robomode. They should attach with minimal pressure, if they don't – you probably need to flip lever 180 and it will fit nicely.

Perfect! Thanks a ton! Yeah, he does look pretty good with Vulcun. Glad to hear that he's got good articulation to boot.
Yeah, I remember reading about the tail issue, and it sounds like a bummer. Is it a minor threat/issue to be aware of? Or is it a deal breaker type of thing? For the most part I think I'm sold on the figure, but that's the one kind of thing that scares me…

Weak parts: pegs that hold his tail pieces in robomode and horn tips. Horn tips are sharp, and while it's hard to break them, tips still can break off if you abuse them. Like really abuse them, mine fell and it took me some time to notice there is a tip missing, and it was so long ago there is no point trying to find it to repair it.
Pegs that tail attaches to are weird case – they do get stressed even if you transform him properly, but they still haven't broken off. I might have stressed them very early and don't remember it anymore, just make sure you align all levers that hold his tail just right and maybe you'll avoid this issue. You'll know what 'right way' is when you get him in hand, hence why I'm not sure if I've ever misaligned anything.

@Whisper – okay, Slag actually has wrist swivel, upper arm swivel, and decent hips. No worries there. I attached a few pics with Vulcan and some WFC figures. They work together pretty well.

I saw a few video reviews and I think Quirinus does actually have wrist swivels, and it's just Caelus and Neptune who lack some essential articulation. Though I could be wrong again on that front. The lack of hip ratchets does sound like a bummer, but if the hinges are tight and the figure is light, it shouldn't be too much of an issue theoretically. If he's fun to pose, is durable and is somewhat fun to flip back and forth, then that's good news for me.
Just Quirinus and Vulcun will suffice, but if you also decide to throw in Caelus or the main siege cons I wouldn't mind that Thanks again for the help!
I can't speak for the others for certain, but Vulcun (Grimlock) does in fact have wrist swivels. He's one of my favourite figures that I own, hence my eagerness to order some other dinobots. With Caelus getting the metallic treatment, and the other dinobots having the potential to follow suit, I think now would be a good time to consider some options. At least that's how I'm looking at it anyways.

…i have the metallic grimlock and swoop on pre-order and hope we get a metallic slag, sludge, and snarl in time…i opened the planet x insecticons this weekend and was a little disappointed by the lack of wrist swivels, but they're still pretty cool sculpts; i expect the dinobots are similar…

I don't think he has wrist swivels, upper arm swivels, or hip ratchets. Those are considered, by some, very necessary for reasonably expensive figures. Mine is in a box right now, so that might be a little off. I think the two horns are translucent, but thick, so that should be the only vaguely iffy part.
If you're mostly a Hasbro collector, I can snap some pics tomorrow with a few Siege figures. Just Quirinus and Vulcan from PX, right?
Whisper
Thanks for the response! Are there any fragile bits I'll need to be aware of? I know Summanus had reports of bad QC and the clear plastic breaking off easily, so I'm hoping Quirinus is much more durable. Also, what do you mean by "not meeting the modern standards for ratchets"? I don't collect 3rd party too much (Vulcun so far is my first and only) so I'm not sure what quality exists for figures nowadays. Usually I collect smaller scale Has/Tak figures, so Quirinus should be better than those at the very least, right? Would it be worth it to buy this guy on his own? (That is, not going for the full PX dinobot set). I'm still undecided on their Caelus, so there's a good chance I'll just get Quririnus to give Vulcun a friend, but not to have the whole team ensemble.
Bob Schoonover
I like him. He's really sleek in robot mode (very little kibble) and the weapon sheaths are a nice touch. He's not going to meet the modern standards for ratchets and poseability, but he's pretty fun and since he's light, he can hold a lot of poses without ratchets. Transformation is straightforward without any scary or frustrating moments.
I might have time to take pics today. Maybe.

Sorry to necro this thread, but how would you guys compare Quirinus to Vulcun? I have their metallic Vulcun and despite some of the minor gripes I have, I really do like him! I'm tempted to buy this figure given my good experience, but I heard he's quite the dip in quality from Vulcun. I won't be going for any other dinobots, but this guy does have my interest. Is this figure fun/solid/playable/sturdy (i.e. what I personally look for), or is he just a display piece?
Also if it's not a bother, could anyone post a picture of Vulcun holding one of Quirinus' guns? I'm just curious to see how that would look.

I wrestle with that connundrum of 'complete the team/cast/what-have-you' vs. 'spend the money on what you actually want' a lot. Reduced income (of late) helps
Also, that pic of Slag with the light captured in his horns (in alt mode. I mean they are all great, but that one in particular) is absolutely killer!
