Last month we reported the Generation 1 cartoon, the complete series, will be available for purchase or rent on the video streaming service Vimeo. As reported by Comic Book Resources, this partnership between Hasbro Studios and Vimeo continues as the streaming service will offer later this year more Transformers shows including Rescue Bots, Transformers Prime, and the 2015 version of Robots In Disguise. These will be a part of 13 classic cartoons, including G.I. Joe as well for our Hisstank members.
No concrete dates have been shown yet, we’re sure to see those details emerge as 2015 rolls along. Hit the discussion link below to join in on the talk.

This Vimeo On Demand title is no longer available. Gone Babe Gone! Anywhere else we could buy it legit? Many thanks. Not available for free streaming on netflix, amazon prime, etc., but it's actually available on STARZ.

Wonderful news.

You know for Hasbro to move Robots in Disguise to the craptacular Cartoon Network under the logic that it will reach the most viewers, how does it make any sense at all to take the shows off Netflix and put them on Vimeo?
Ravage101
I'd really like to read more about episodes showing up on Netflix. This Vimeo deal is just another iTunes.

I guess if you can download it, it's okay… Streaming is only as good as how long these knobs are in business. Maybe that's for the next 50 years. Maybe it's for the next 5 months…

But whose is it?

Transformers: Robots in Disguise: When a Cybertronian prison ship crashes on Earth, a new team of Autobots, led by Bumblebee, arrives to protect the planet — and the galaxy — from hundreds of escaped Deception fugitives! Following a mysterious message from another dimension, this ragtag band of heroes learns to trust and fight alongside one another, and begins to suspect the crash might not have been an accident — but only the beginning of a larger, much more sinister plan! (Available later in 2015)

The 1080p files look great. I've got all these episodes already, but they're DVD rips, so the resolution is just so-so. Rented "Call of the Primitives" to see how the quality was and it's top notch. Comparable to the 1080p rip of TF:The Movie; not as good, but better than any rips of the G1 series currently available.
As jbot stated above, the soundtrack is original, which actually is a huge plus in my book! So, all 98 episodes with great video quality with the original soundtrack for $36? Done and done!
Ninjak
Wish i knew about the discount code before taking the plunge the other day, but oh well, it's only $4.

What I'd really like to know is whether or not Vimeo's rights are exclusive, and if so, how long that exclusivity lasts.
Ash from Carolina
Not sure if this the most brilliant plan ever since my very first question was "what the hell is Vimeo"?
Joe Moore
Yes, they were on Netflix to stream, which required a subscription. However, with the Vimeo versions, you can stream on any device and download DRM-Free video files of each episode, which is a major plus to me.

Is this the shout or rhino version?
Ninjak
I bought it since I hadn't yet owned any of the DVD sets. All the download options appear to be mp4.
Greenspan
It'd be nice to know what is the format if you buy them. MP4 maybe ?
jbot
Just rented Heavy Metal War, and this looks to be the Rhino version. I can confirm it has the same animation errors shown here:

Only thing that puzzles me is the soundtrack sounds original. No annoying new effects. Resolution is comparable to DVD. Aspect ratio is 4:3 with black bars filling in the sides.
