Via MrElljay on Weibo we have a look at the finished version of the DX9 Toys Chigurh. These images show what looks to be the finalised version of this unofficial Astrotrain, compared to the earlier images which showed a mixture of photoshopped decos and unpainted prototypes. Check out the images attached to this post.
Alpha Omega Trion Supreme
I'll never regret owning Chigurh. Like most DX-9 stuff, it's a legit fun transformer. Three modes that all have distinct shapes.
Word of advice when going to shuttle mode. The one hand has to be folded just right or else you'll have trouble bring the two front halves of the shuttle fully 100% flush together.

Wanted Dx9 Astrotrain for a very long time but left it too late I nearly missed out on this reissue so finally having him in hand this week I can fully appreciate him.
Now I know a lot of people go with Fans toys Thomas but that's the problem for me Thomas the moment I heard that's what they called him the Thomas the tank engine theme started playing in my head and I knew if I brought him everytime I look at him I would see Astrotrain but Thomas the blue happy friendly train I want a freaking evil Astrotrain like the one out of idw in all hail Megatron when the survivors are hiding out at the underground train station, he Rocks up and starts wrecking the place and you as the audience are left to imagine the horror.
I like his overall look and details, articulation everything I need, I skipped out on the one piece crotch plate and leave it tabbed in as his waist is better looking and doesn't hinder articulation of his upper legs this way.
He has an impressive size and presence in fact the only other Triplechanger I have that's stands up against him is Springer and even he has a fight on his hands, nice that they could chill and hang out for a bit too and talk about life as triple changers.
Transformation is clever and slick, I haven't got round to space shuttle mode yet maybe I'll do a part two of this with that and some other Decepticon mps at some point.
Strange enough he had tiny black Decepticon decals on his wings but I opted for something bigger and bolder instead.
Something about this figure I just can't leave him alone and constantly wowed everytime I look at him so glad I finally got him.View attachment 29528313 View attachment 29528314 View attachment 29528315 View attachment 29528316 View attachment 29528317 View attachment 29528318 View attachment 29528319 View attachment 29528320 View attachment 29528321 View attachment 29528322 View attachment 29528323 View attachment 29528324 View attachment 29528325 View attachment 29528326 View attachment 29528327 View attachment 29528328 View attachment 29528329 View attachment 29528330 View attachment 29528331 View attachment 29528332 View attachment 29528333 View attachment 29528334 View attachment 29528335 View attachment 29528336 View attachment 29528337 View attachment 29528339 View attachment 29528340 View attachment 29528341 View attachment 29528342 View attachment 29528343 View attachment 29528344 View attachment 29528345 View attachment 29528346 View attachment 29528347

I know it’ll be quite a bit bigger, I just want to see how much.
Someone posted a shot a ways back I saw on Google with it and Thrilling 30 Blitzwing who looks slighter than TR. It seemed like it may work ok since it’s kinda the old leader class size. A YouTube review showed it to be comparable in height to Combiner Wars Megatron, and imo it makes sense for him to be a bigger character since space shuttle. It feels like Hasbro has difficulty making an Astrotrain that isn’t weirdly proportioned or shaped, this seems a possible alternative.
The Happenin Rhinoceros
Like…Titans Return?
If that's what you mean, this going to be WAAAYYYY out of scale. Chigurh is MP scaled. He's almost 10 inches tall.

Can anyone possibly post a picture of this with Titans Blitzwing? I’m considering it to replace my Titans Astrotrain since I never really liked it and like the WFC one even less
The Happenin Rhinoceros
Yeah, it requires tweezers and a ton of patience. Although the TH decalscare a LOT more forgiving than faction logos. You CAN peel them up a few times and reposition.
I'd love to rip these off and paint those details instead, but I don't know where I'd ever find a suitably spectacular purple. These decals are super shiny…a few steps shy of purple chrome. I've got some nice metal flake purples, but nothing quite so eye-catching.
Might be worth a test to mask some old parts off, use a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen, and spray it with a purple candy coat to see

I have been tempted by a few sets but still yet to get a Toyhax sticker set, I'm more onto painting I'm more precise test way I suck at putting stickers on just look at dome of my faction decals lol
The Happenin Rhinoceros
Anything I can do to save you $10 and hours of frustration, lol
DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!
Edit: Honestly, I have dozens upon dozens of Toyhax sets applied snd this is the first time I've been truly disappointed. These are just completely wrong for some reason.
Impactor666
Thats a real shame as the ones I've seen looked really good although the review I just watched the didn't look right so sounds like a set like you described. I may just use there ideas and paint those colours onto mine if I feel he needs it once in hand. Thanks for the advice
The Happenin Rhinoceros
Got mine recently, so far hips seem fine. In fact, joints are all stiff and no issues.
My only word of advice is to avoid the Toyhax set for this…easily the worst $10 I've ever spent there. I'm used to Toyhax decals being annoyingly precise so that if you err even slightly to the side or such they end up being wrong and needing to be reapplied. However, in this set every single sticker is cut slightly larger than the area it goes on, meaning there is either a significant fold up in recessed areas and overlap that hangs off on raised areas. It's a shame, because the metallic purple accents they add really do look great. With all the overhanging areas, I don't think these will last a single transformation.
Impactor666
Yeah as there Blitzwing was released they offered his improved hips (same fitment as Astrotrain) no charge to all existing owners as long as they covered the shipping that was years back now though going off this very detailed thread. Don't know if that's the case or not now as I heard dx9 went under. Although we still get these reissues from somewhere? Usually if there's an improved part the later versions get it fitted as standard from what I've seen.
I've noticed a few people have them for sale now and again, maybe they got the part sent but never fitted it them sold the figure.
No worries if not I'll just get some floor polish on the hips instead seemed to work well for a lot of other owners.

Wait… there are replacement hips?!
That was my big complaint with this guy
Impactor666
Hi guys,
Was just wondering if the replacement Blitzwing hips are coming pre-installed on this recent reissue? I read you can contact dx9 for them just have to cover shipping but I thought dx9 had closed up there shop?
If that's the case where are these reissues coming from???
Anyway I'm really interested in picking one up but would like to know what everyone's recent reissued ones hips are like? Floppy or pretty study ?
Many thanks

Will do!

Thank you, send a link if you manage to
Treadshot 2.0
I think I have that somewhere, I'll try to dig it up.

Anyone know where to get replacement hips for this figure? Just got a Gewalt hoping he came with then but apparently not
jazz1914
Didn't even notice that before… Now he's good (post wing tip flip)! Lol

The two front wing bits on mine needed to be swapped to the opposite sides but other than that everything's been great, this quickly became one of my favorites and worth the wait (I preordered and paid up 2 years ago).

Just transformed it for the 1st time following Emgo's video. Everything else seems fine except the head. As you can see, the yellow paint cracks and fell off like chips. I really don't know how this could happened, noticed this 1st time I saw the head.
