Now here’s an interesting entry, and something of a blast from the past. Revelation Records has announced a Record Store Day 2015 vinyl reissue of the entire discography of the 90’s era Erie PA hardcore band Shockwave. For those that don’t remember, Shockwave was a Transformers themed band through and through, with albums and songs named after Transformers, G1 audio samples, and a band logo featuring a masked Decepticon symbol.
The record is called The World is Ours: The Complete Recordings and is on double clear vinyl 12″ in a gatefold sleeve. In a really nice touch, it also includes a clear red flexi 7″ that can be used as a tech spec decoder on the album art.
This looks like a really nice and certainly unexpected release from this long dormant band. Check out the reveal video after the jump.

does anyone have some links to their music, that one youtube link is hip hop. I searched for this group shockwave on youtube to listen to their music but didn't find anything.

I discovered this band on these forums like 15 years ago… I think a band member may have posted here.

These guys RULE.

While not the best band ever in the genre, I do digs me some Shockwave. Not enough to buy this thing, however. I'd rather dig out the old CD and play it while actually buying a Shockwave toy in some incarnation I don't have yet.

Oh man, awesome

Not sure what I said to make you assume I wasn"t interested in hardcore music. The bit about party lines was inferring that the post was probably aimed at those who like hardcore. If the call isn't for you don"t pick up the phone anyways and start yelling at people. Sorry about the maturity and being a poser. You got me but way too late. I quit playing in hardcore bands in 99 because it started to make me feel old.

I like my hardcore a little less "metal" (think Minor Threat to Kid Dynamite lineage) but I actually don't mind Shockwave. Probably won't pick this up but it's still pretty cool.
BLACKWAR
…what? None of that made any sense. So you're only buying it because you like that it is TF themed, but not for the actual music? I couldn't think of a better example of poser. Least the other guys that say they like this actually like the music. Taking shots on those who voiced negative comments is immature.

Interesting to see an hc/tf post. Would have been nice to hear what the vocals are like on the preview video. Not a turntable guy but would like to check it out. As for the negative comments I can only guess they have better gatefold tf themed vynil coming out on record store day… No? Ok, get some Cisco training, the Internet broadcasts on all ports, not all posts are made for you to poop on. Complaining only means that you aren't ready for party lines in rural areas in the fifties.

Very cool, as a fan of metal/hardcore/metalcore and to a lesser degree punk rock, I had grown fond of this band. Double clear vinyl with a decoder sounds awesome! I'll add this to the 2 CDs of them I have currently. If anyone would like the files to share I have them. Just ask
BLACKWAR
Cheers, friend-o. I am equally impressed with anyone who can take my criticism and brush it off, realizing it is simply the opinion of one person, and doesn't really matter at all in their own life if they decide it so. What matters is what you enjoy.
Prowl
You are literally the first person I've ever seen on this board do this. And I've been here for a long time. No sarcasm. I applaud you for expressing your opinion of not enjoying something, and then bowing out to let the people who do enjoy it discuss what they enjoy.
If more folks didn't try to convince people who enjoy something "why they shouldn't" (or boast about how hard to please they are) the boards would be a much more peaceful place.
More folks should take your example.
MegaDolrailer
I like hardcore, never knew this band was a thing, but I'm into it.
Wish they had some faster songs.
Dark Jedi
I used to spin their cd in the early 2000's. But would not really listening to them aymore. Pass for me.
Timothy.R
this is pretty cool, i am a fan of hardcore.. just not this band.

Wait, they were on Revelation Records? How did I not hear of these guys? I first got into hardcore in 97. Love the old school NYHC … AF, Cro-mags, Murphy's Law, Bad Brains, Underdog, SOIA, Warzone, etc….
BLACKWAR
Hehe, well the tunes were moderately better… still think the bandanas are lame, but then I've always thought bandanas are lame. I think the fact that it is trying to make the Decepticon imagery seem more human that bothers me. If anything, cutting edge military weaponry and technological supremacy at any means is far more "evil", and so any bands that would fit that sort of thing would either have to be some crazy sounding synth (since it sounds like a machine), or music much further down the dark path, which we all know is going to be metal that is black, death, thrash, doom, war, speed, heavy, etc. It's like the imagery of robbing a store or gang warfare opposed to nuclear missiles and bioweapons. One is simply much worse than the other. Rap and Hardcore doesn't do that any justice. ANYWAY I'll stop ruining this for you guys now.
