The Facebook page of third party group Planet X updated earlier today with brand new images of a colored sample of their Summanus figure (Fall of Cybertron Snarl). The post promises that Summanus is near to being released, but these new batch of images are not the final product and some changes may be made.
You can add this third party Dinobot to your collection shelves sometime this quarter as estimated by retailers.
Check it out after the jump.

I completely forgot these designs were derived from the video game. No reason other than whimsy, I suppose.
Curium
I believe there is no purpose in dino mode, PX just didn't have any better solution. They are clearly there in bot mode, I think they are bigger on the figure though for transformation clearance.
foxracing
Could be screen/game accuracy for bot mode.
Zentropy
What purpose do they serve, though? They seem superfluous in both modes.
Curium
I believe the design intent is for them to be down on the lower legs more. They don't stand out like that in other pics. It is just how he has his.
Zentropy
Kinda cool actually, but the knee hoops are conspicuous and useless in both modes. I can’t appreciate anything else about the design now. If they filled in the dinosaur abdomen more, maybe they wouldn’t seem so obtrusive, but I think the figure might look better without them.
foxracing
Oh wow the metallic Snarl has been released? Any dealers that might have some in stock? TFS is out of stock.
EDIT: Whoops, found on Showz.
Better than Sludge/Neptune!

Very true. I was a child of the 70s/80s, and channeled a very different spirit.
Mondochuk
Which fully embraces the 90s and the G2 spirit. Mission accomplished there.
Zentropy
I was lukewarm to this sculpt from the beginning, but thought it looked pretty good in the original colors. The G2 red one looks rather plain, but it has kind of a Lunar New Year appeal, which is fun. The G2 green, however, is not the least bit appealing to my eye. That color combo is garish.

Got my Green Snarl today & he looks great. Honestly, much better than my original ver as far as joint tightness goes. Spikes as fragile as ever though, not much of a change compared to the original. Some tabs will need sanding due to the paint on them so that they go in all the way. Still couldn't be bothered to mirror the guns after how many releases is a bit lazy. As far as the paint goes, the only nit pick is that PX decided to make it metallic where as the blue on G2 Vulcan is Matte (I think it is just the bare plastic). A little jarring in person but that is just me.

I'm in the same boat, have only grimlock both standard and metallic version right now, in this year will have snarl metallic version, ordered swoop from bababobo, pre ordered sludge so we must wait only for slug. I like grimlock robot mode only(the standard is perfect fo that), but the dinos are great in metallic paint, never liked the mustard yelllow plastic dino heads of the originals so now the metallic versions are a must have for me.
Mondochuk
Does the tail on the new Red & Green versions have the same issue as the original releases on anyone’s yet?
Where some of the joints crumble due to thin plastic and tight tolerances?
Beastbot X
Other than one loose plate, I don't think my first-run version had any tolerance issues, but it's admittedly been a while since I transformed it.
I would rate their FoC Dinobots, from best to worst:
Slag/Slug
Grimlock
Sludge
Swoop
Paddles (joints are too loose)
Snarl
Zentropy
Damn, these designs haven’t aged well.
Purple Heart
The plates aren’t what bothers me, it’s the overly tight pegs that once connected are impossible to seperate, and the loose joints that make for a poor experience.
But glad to hear he is the weakest of the bunch. I am still yet to get the other molds, besides Grimlock who I got today, and was sorta worried. I always thought Sludge looked kinda shit but I gotta get the metallic versions of the entire team for the collection.
Beastbot X
I will say I think Summanus is the worst of their FoC Dinobots. The tolerances on the original (at least on mine) seem better, but those long, translucent plastic plates and spikes are just a very bad idea.
Purple Heart
So I got Red G2 Snarl/Summanus in last night. This was my first experience with this mold, and my first impression was that it was definetly an early 3P designed 8 years ago.

The tolerances on mine are also quite shit. Some parts are extremely tight and other parts are very loose, leading to mixed feelings and not the best experience.

Transforming him into Dino mode the first time was alright, but when I went to transform him back into robot mode the tail halves gave me a lot of trouble, and then when I went to split the legs, they were connected so tight that it took so much force that when they did split he flung back into my hand and one of his dorsal fins went underneath my thumbnail and cut clean into it. It was very painful and blood was everywhere, but it wasn’t so serious that I needed to go the hospital.
Fun Fact: Summanus is Latin for the god of Nocturnal Lightning, as opposed to Jupiter who was God of Daylight Lightning. So he is akin to the otherside of the same coin as Grimlock.
